Ayres Hotel Vista / Carlsbad

My ceiling caved in at my apartment and I needed a pet friendly hotel to stay in. Expedia recommended this hotel. I however, quickly found out my daily commute would be 40 minutes to and from work (an oversight on my behalf). The staff here have all been incredibly amicable and do their job diligently. The breakfast is free and amazing! Hand made omelettes and well maintained waffle machines! Anything I’d really want for breakfast— they have. I had to stay here for two weeks (longer than we imagined) and yet although I had the opportunity to relocate to a different hotel closer to my job, I enjoyed my stay here so much that I continued commuting here everyday to and from work. I had to charge my car way more often than I ever have (they also have car chargers in their parking lot), but I am completely satisfied with my stay! 10/10 definitely recommend!

This is the best hotel in the area! We've tried several and now this is the only place we stay. You can pay more but you won't get the courtesy, cleanliness and level of service as this hotel gives. It is modern and almost new. Free breakfast and evening drinks. Pets are allowed. The manager is on-site and very good!

My family and I recently stayed and had an exceptional experience from start to finish. The staff were incredibly welcoming and went above and beyond to ensure our stay was comfortable and enjoyable. The room was immaculately clean and equipped with all the amenities we could possibly need.

The hotel’s location was perfect, offering easy access to local attractions and excellent dining options. The on-site restaurant served a yummy breakfast buffet.

What truly set this hotel apart was the attention to detail and the personalized service. From the front staff who provided fantastic service to the housekeeping staff who kept everything spotless, every aspect of our stay was handled with care and professionalism.

Amazing stay! My husband and I stayed here for our nearby wedding, and I’m so glad we did! The room was spacious, modern, and super clean. The hotel has really great amenities and is in a good, quiet location. We had multiple friends and family stay here with us too, who also all enjoyed their stay.

Every staff member we interacted with was kind and welcoming. The room was super clean and spacious, and the beds were really comfortable. Breakfast was great. It's a dog-friendly place with a one-time $45 fee for your entire stay instead of a nightly charge. Plus, there's plenty of parking available. We will definitely come back.

We had a lovely time staying here last year when we went down to celebrate the life of my boyfriend's grandfather. The hotel property had nice seating outside and a good breakfast in the morning. Rooms were clean, comfortable, and adorably priced. They have a bar, and the bartender was great. Sean at the front desk was also wonderful when we checked in. There was an issue with our tub, and a woman was sent up immediately who fixed the problem for us. All around, a memorable stay; id definitely stay here again.

If you are a clean person who loves modern interior design, then this is definitely the place for you! Of course, I will stay at this hotel again if they always clean it so well (very clean room!!), good breakfast, lots of parking!!! Only 5 stars! What I also really liked is that you can open the window for ventilation!!! This is simply the best hotel!

I decided to try something other than the usual lodging chains, and was very pleased during my stay. I will strongly consider for future trips. The property is well-kept, areas are quiet where and when they should be, and the staff is very courteous and helpful (thank you Isaiah!). They even left me a voice-mail after attempting to reach me to check on how my stay was going midway during my stay--rather than as a chechlist question at checkout. That indicated to me that they are genuinely dedicated to ensuring they have time to impact the quality of my stay before I'm literally walking out the door. The furnishings were condo-like in my mind, as was the decor. The bed was just right. The common areas were enjoyable, but the structure must be better insulated than average since I could barely hear the people enjoing themselves (at the pool & jacuzzi near my room). The property location was close enough to where I needed to be without the crazy costs of places right near the coast. The only minor ding was that parking was near capacity early every evening. I was okay with it, but I'm including here for those who may prefer being closer to the front doors.

Everyone was the most accommodating ever, from the sales and general manager to the food and cleaning staff, every employee I encountered was knowledgeable and helpful.

I also rented the conference room out for work I was doing here in the Carlsbad area and that was a seamless process as well.

Great location 10 - 20 mins away from everything in all directions. I would definitely recommend staying here and booking with the staff at the Ayres Hotel.

I was very impressed with the cleanliness and service at your hotel. The staff was so kind, from the gentleman at the front desk who checked us in, to Anna at the omelette station, and most especially to Jalen at the bar who made me a homemade mint and lemongrass tea (from real muddled mint!) as he was closing! Jalen stopped what he was doing (closing duties) late in the evening to make me a mint tea and I was so impressed with his customer service! The front desk area with snacks and most especially the water bottle refill station was wonderful! My only feedback for the hotel would be to have more vegetarian/vegan options for the breakfast, herbal tea (you only have caffeinated tea), and use paper/cardboard water bottle options instead of selling plastic water bottles. Otherwise, absolutely wonderful stay and service! Thank you.

My stay was excellent! My family and I loved staying at Ayres! It is a very clean hotel with some elegance, and the prices are fair! The only thing I did see was that the sink had a tad of a smell to it, but nothing some bleach wouldn’t fix. Other than that every thing else was in great condition, great smell, and like I mentioned, very clean! Another thing to note is that they have EV Charging! Saved us time and money! Will definitely return again in the future!

My husband and I went on a one night getaway to visit the Carlsbad Flower fields which was about 20 minutes from the location. We chose this hotel based on reviews. We were not disappointed.

The check in process was smooth, our room was spacious, clean, and modern and had all the common amenities (coffee pot, microwave, fridge, toiletries). The complimentary breakfast had a bunch of options from cereal, oatmeal, toast, scrambled eggs, sausage, hash browns and they even had someone making customized omelettes.

All the hotel staff were very personable, welcoming, and friendly, and both the hotel and our room were exceptionally clean, quiet, and very comfortable. We expected a continental breakfast, but we were pleasantly surprised that there was a fully served breakfast with everything that we could possibly want, and the breakfast staff was also very friendly and helpful. The location is very accessible to culturally diverse restaurants, shopping, and businesses in the area.We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend this hotel.

The hotel is in a prime location and the price is amazing! The pet policy is the best in the area. No weight limit and it is only $40 per visit instead of per night.
Compared to other hotels in the area, it is much cheaper most nights, especially compared to Legoland hotels. While the hotel address is in Vista, the next intersection light is Carlsbad so it is very close to everything.
Everyone is super nice and helpful at the desk and throughout the hotel.

There can be some very loud children in the mornings, or mom's who give you dirty looks for having a dog with you (though there are hotels that are not dog friendly they can visit so that's never bothered us!) but that's bound to happen in any hotel near Legoland or any hotel in San Diego during the summer.
Personally this is one of my favorite hotels in San Diego!

Hotel is located in a very nice and safe area close to shops and restaurants. Rooms are clean and have adequate space. They offer several amenities: free wi-fi, breakfast, parking, self-service washer/dryer, etc. Front desk clerks are friendly.

The rooms were clean, modern, and had so much space!

The service was amazing from the front desk to staff cleaning rooms to making customizable omelette! I will for sure be recommending to my friends and family.

This place is truly a hidden gem. Im grateful to have received such extraordinary and consistent hospitality. This place feels like one of the rare places left on earth , where the entire supporting staff personally take a sense of pride in making your stay a most positive and pleasantly memorable experience. Carl, their Manager and Sean the assistant manager are doing great things here — and it shows!!

I have to say my boyfriend and I stayed at this hotel and had the best experience. Sherina was the kindest most helpful person! If someone deserves recognition for their hospitality and exceptional customer service it’s her! We will definitely be coming back 👍

I chose Ayres Hotel for a 2 weeks-long business trip after reading the great reviews. The reviews turned out to be all true. Great location, clean and airy rooms. Great staff members. Plenty of breakfast options. You can have a personalized egg white ommlette cooked for you fresh every morning. I wish the coffee is a bit better but that's not a deal breaker for me. Great ourdoor space, clean and modern gym, small pool but a nice hot tub. I will definitely be back and highly reccomended.

Great place to stay and will definitely come back. Your attention to detail is amazing with a well designed foyer and rooms was very enjoyable.
