Landoll's Mohican Castle - Luxury Hotel in Central Ohio

The hotel was truly a beautiful place. Like many, we saw it on Hotel Hell and we really wanted to see it in person. We went for my birthday and we were not disappointed. The location was stunning, the castle was amazing, and we did all the activities including climbing the tower, seeing the graveyard, walking the grounds, and eating at the restaurant. (Do not take the coins off the gravestones if you go! My toddler helped us put coins that had fallen down back up! It was a fun activity.)

Everything was fun, and the room we picked was outstanding. I recommend staying in the castle itself for the best experience and not the cottages or auxiliary rooms. Those are more for wedding venue guests. There were a few minor repair issues, and a little bit of an issue getting the water temperature in the shower right, but that's what you kind of expect from an older location too sometimes. It didn't bother us at all.

The pool is pretty epic also. It has this sitting cave that my toddler basically wanted to live in. I really loved that, even though I am not much of a pool guy myself.

We did have some minor service issues, mostly with the one person on staff being so busy and stressed being alone on our second day. There should really be two people there, since they offer tours which the desk staff has to do. Nothing that would take a star off the overall score.

The restaurant is good, but some of the food has odd pairings. My wife said it was a French style, which is why I didn't get it. Some of it might be local style also. Just ask questions and ask them to sub things you want.

All in all great experience. Anything that went wrong (including a problem at booking) the hotel made right and made us feel welcome. I would recommend it to anyone who made it this far in the long review!

I brought a group of 50 people here and I expect many of them to return at some point in the future. Some of the rooms in the castle are a bit worn and we had one where the air conditioning didn't work and our folks needed to be moved to another room. That said it is a stunning property with an excellent staff. We had a dinner that evening and breakfast the following morning. The food staff is amazing. They went out of their way to make sure that they met all our needs. If you have group you would be well served staying here as everyone in your group will be impressed with this location.

We went there for the Dueling Pianos dinner show, did not have a room at the castle. The show was very entertaining, lots of crowd participation. Dinner was really good also with a cash bar but soft drinks included. The staff did a great job as well.

I did not stay in this hotel, but I did eat dinner there. It was delish! Not crowded at all, and we received all the server's attention. I would highly recommend dining here. A little far off the main drag, but a nice drive.

A very personalized lovely room, well kept! Everyone was very courteous, polite and inviting. We came for the Princess Ball, (our princess LOVED IT) and we used the pool house, which was top 10 cleanest, nicest pool and jacuzzi/sauna I've ever seen
10/10 will come again

I had planned a surprise night out for my girlfriend. We would be attending the St. Patrick’s Day murder mystery dinner theater. Not only was the dinner a surprise but I had also planned to ask her to marry me. I emailed the event planner and I told her what I had planned on doing…. And without even the slightest hesitation, a plan was hatched by the staff to give us a very romantic and unique experience. I won’t go into any detail, but I will say that my new fiancé said that it was like something out of a movie.
The show was fantastic, the food was amazing, and the service was outstanding. The memories made that night will linger in our minds for years to come and we have the amazing staff of Landolls Mohican Castle to thank for that.
If you’re tired of the regular old chain restaurant experience, and maybe seeking something a little more exciting and fun, I would strongly recommend this place.

Unbelievable experience all around. Joe and Chelsea couldn’t have been more accommodating for us and everything was perfect. Highly recommended the location, and I can’t say enough good things about the staff and services. Went for a group function - now my wife and I are already planning on going back.

We took our granddaughter and went with our nieces to the princess ball. They loved it. It was set up very nice all of the girls were included and made to feel special by the princesses. The girls are still telling people about their experience and can’t wait to go back next year!!!

My stay at Mohican Castle in Loudonville, Ohio was absolutely exceptional! From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with warm hospitality and genuine care from all the staff. The location itself is breathtaking, nestled amidst the stunning landscapes of Mohican State Park.

The highlight of my experience was undoubtedly the impeccable service provided by Joe Cummins, the general manager. Joe went above and beyond to ensure that every aspect of my stay was perfect. His attention to detail and dedication to customer satisfaction truly set Mohican Castle apart.

Had a banquet dinner at Landolls Mohican Castle. The property was absolutely beautiful, from the blooming flowers, to the castle itself. The tables and venue were clean and professional, and I would recommend Landolls Mohican Castle to anyone that is looking for a secrete, high end, place to spend for a couple days or evening.

Joe Cummins, general manager, provided the most excellent experience for our stay here at the Castle. The scenery, the food, and the service was out of this world. Will be recommending to all of my Facebook friends. Amen.

The staff/ servers at the wedding reception were phenomenal. Food was very good. Big portions, two meats. Loved the friendly servers. Please give them a raise. Beautiful setting. Lots of walking.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Landoll’s Mohican Castle. We stayed in the Champernowne Suite at the stables. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the suite was roomy and well decorated. We enjoyed the meals at the restaurant also. The staff was very friendly and helpful in assisting us to plan our activities while at the castle. The distance to drive Mohican State park from the Castle was good, and we managed to stop in at two li all wineries, Ugly Bunny and French Ridhe. We will definitely want to come back to the castle.

Absolutely beautiful place with a cool cemetery to check out, as well as a little forest trail! Room was beautiful and service was great. I'll definitely be returning.

this is a BEAUTIFUL PLACE! we went on a girl's weekend ..stayed in the stable rooms ..very ,very nice! did a murder mystery dinner ...food was very good! we stopped at the bar before dinner it was amazing also! I can't say that for the actors of the murder mystery! it was not well planned out ,poor acting ,poor story ,boring boring boring! could not follow what was going on .I will NEVER nor will the other three girls EVER attend anything that the CANDLELIGHT PLAYERS are putting on! it was just super confusing ,boring, and quite frankly stupid! But if u get a chance to stay or just visit the Castle do so! You won't be disappointed! it's beautiful!

We've never been there, so when we walked in the Lobby to ask about the place. Maybe the girl was having a bad day but she didn't act like she wanted to offer much info. So we left and walked around. Gorgeous place building and scenery. Visited the old cemetery where people lay money on most of the tombstone.

We had a wonderful stay for the Princess Ball. It was our first visit and we will definitely be back. The room was cozy and comfortable. Everyone was helpful and friendly.

This place is a hidden gem for a romantic weekend.
The rooms were very nice and spacious.
The food was great. Try the blueberry jam.

Just had a weekend trip for the wife and kid to relax and have some quality time. Love the location. It is in a quiet place. The rooms inside the castle are unique and would require multiple trips to experience everything they have to offer. Food at The copper bar and grill was great. We ate there three times and I had no bad experiences. The staff were all amazing.

I only had two issues with the mini vacation. One your massage was in your room. And we were not told which room but there is one room where the message is not possible due to space/ furniture. A space outside of your room would be more preferable for a massage. Lastly, the wedding crowd can be very loud at night. On 10/6/23 there was a lot of shouting around 1145 pm. This property is great for both relaxing getaways and scenic venue for a wedding. But this weekend there was a clash with a rowdy wedding party and staying alseep.

On the whole I would say this was a great trip and well worth the price. We will be coming back and recommending this property to anyone looking for a weekend get away.
