Absolutely amazing staff. Spoke with and worked with Ray. I was in a very difficult situation with my vehicle and he was very patient and understanding while I tried to get everything situated. He did everything he could to make it easier and more convenient for me and my family. Very professional, affordable, and honest business. Will definitely use their services again.

I’m from southeast Georgia and my wife and I own a Hot Shot trucking business. On Sunday February 14, 2021 my wife and I broke down on I-71 northbound at exit 140 in Ohio at approximately 6:30 pm with a bad axle bearing on a 35 ft. gooseneck trailer. We were referred to Uncle Rusty’s Auto Repair. Once we called Ray, the owner, he was very accommodating and very quick to respond to our needs. He called his brother-in-law to come out that Sunday evening and get us to where I could at least get the trailer to his shop that night and advised my wife and I where we could get a room for the evening. His mechanic Ron was on the repair job first thing Monday morning. I consider Ron to be an excellent and thorough mechanic. The work done was fast, efficient and very reasonable in pricing. Thanks for everything Ray and Ron. I will certainly refer you to others.

These guys are great, honest and very quick despite always being so busy. I don’t care where you are at, it’s worth the trip. I drove almost an hour to them this morning and had no regrets.

This past winter, I noticed that the air vents in my car were barely outputting any hot air at all when I turned the heat on, and it took a very long time for my car to warm up. I took my car to a Meineke location in a nearby county and I told them about the issue I was experiencing. 130 dollars later (a heater core flush), they were unable to fix the problem. Meineke told me that an entire heater core replacement was necessary (a $1000+ job).

Frustrated, I decided to message Ray at Uncle Rusty’s Auto Repair about the issue. He quickly responded to me and asked me whether calcium lime rust (CLR) was used in the heater core flush. Ray said that he had found a service bulletin posted by the auto manufacturer detailing the exact issue that I was experiencing. He told me that the service bulletin specifically stated that CLR should be used in the heater core flush. I contacted Meineke and I asked them whether they had used CLR as prescribed in the service bulletin, and they replied that they did not, as they did not think that it would be necessary to search for relevant service bulletins before beginning their work on my car. When I relayed this information to Ray, he was so confident that he would be able to fix my heater core issue, that he said he would flush my heater core and not charge me a penny if the issue wasn’t fixed (and $100 if it worked successfully). When Ray flushed the heater core with CLR, the issue went away, and my car started to warm up instantly when I would turn on the heat.

By simply being thorough and meticulous, Ray saved me $1000+. The fact that a big-name auto repair shop like Meineke didn’t bother to spend a few seconds to do their due diligence like checking for service bulletins before diagnosing the issue and prescribing a specific repair, and yet the folks at a small-business auto shop out in a rural part of Morrow County instinctively knew what the correct course of action was for diagnosing a problem and determining how to repair it, honestly came as a surprise to me. Clearly, having a big name and being able to spend a lot of money on billboards and advertising does not necessarily mean that a company is more trustworthy and capable of fixing cars than a small shop like Uncle Rusty’s Auto Repair.

When I take my vehicle to Uncle Rusty’s, I always have the confidence that the job is going to be done correctly. I know that if something isn’t right after the repair, they will fix it, no questions asked. I also know that I am saving a lot of money by taking my car to Uncle Rusty’s as opposed to a dealer or big-name repair shop. They are committed to making sure their customers are happy, and they clearly know what they are doing. Ray is a military veteran and is an all-around awesome guy, and his employee Ron is likewise very pleasant and professional.
