Middletown River Center

This is one of my favorite local places to explore nature. I never leave disappointed in what we find. Animal Bones, Heart Shaped Stones, Colorful Rocks, Twisty-Turny Driftwood... it's always something off yet beautiful. Like The River itself.

Free place to get a drink from water fountain and use the restroom if needed we please just cool off when exercising or walking or in the vicinity beautiful inside and outside

A lovely place to take a walk, or just sit in the car to eat lunch and enjoy the view.

The Middletown River Center is a pretty place by the Miami River. There is an informational welcome center with plenty of parking. It is adjacent to the river walking/biking trail. I attended an event there on June 1st, 2019 called "Amazing Animals". The naturalist, Stephanie, presented an educational experience that was perfect for children as well as adults. The animals in the presentation consisted of an American Toad, a Green Frog, a Grey Tree Frog, a Streamside Salamander, a Dekay Snake, and an Eastern Box Turtle. We also learned about the endangered Hellbender Salamander. The Eastern Box Turtle is very interesting. It's top shell is called a carapace and it's bottom shell is called a plastron. The plastron has a hinge on it adjacent to its front legs. The Box Turtle is able to pull all it's legs and head inside it's shells and close the hinge, hence, its name, Box Turtle. I highly recommend adding this park on your places to visit list and check out yourmetroparks.net for a calendar of fun and educational events in one of our county Metro Parks.

So clean and love walking around the river

A great pit stop on the trail, especially for cyclists. Very clean & well-maintained & stocked facility with brochure/ map/ info materials. You can refill your water bottles at the fountains, restrooms are very nice. There is also a bike maintenance and repair station outside and racks to park your bike.

Great location. This is the only restrooms on the bike trail from Trenton up to West Carolton (about 24 miles). They are located between the 2 sets of double doors so the restrooms can be open even if the remainder of the center is closed.

Nice area, clean, they have an event room you can rent for occasions Birthdays, Church events, meetings... Ect. Clean bathrooms and picnic tables outside around back.
