I had my C-section at Mount Sinai West. I had amazing care since the moment I walked in. Security let straight up stairs because I was in labor. I got immediate care, the health care workers respected my decision to have a vaginal delivery even when I showed signs of distress. After doing all they could to respect my wishes, I decided on a C section because my situation was being life threating. The care I received during and after delivery was above and beyond. Hopefully, I wasn't just lucky and you mom's to be get the same amazing care because you deserve it. Haha, labor is painful enough.

I gave birth in this hospital few weeks ago, and I can say that my natural delivery was "a dream come true". They respected my birth plan, and they supported the breastfeeding as soon as the baby was born. We (the baby and I) made skin to skin contact immediately and for many hours. I didn't take the epidural so I have a lot of freedom of movement in order to do whatever position I wanted to make (that was wonderful). Finally the team (doctors nurses, etc..) were amazing!!! 👏 Thanks 😊 🙏 😘!!!

My cousin was born in this very hospital almost 22 years ago. It is amazing to have heard its history from my uncle and to see how it has changed. I would have never imagined that I get to see my providers and specialists in a safe, clean and inclusive hospital (LGBTQ+ friendly) with friendly and easy to understand staff and medical staff in a fully accessible building, which is especially important for one that has "invisible disabilities" like autoimmune diseases.

Once admitted upstairs, I was ward 10A, things got moving. My MDs did rounds at 6am and made the daily tx plan. Meals are earlyish- 8am, 12 and 5pm and there are snacks they supply if you aren’t able to get food from outside (tough to go 6pm-8am w/o some food if you’re recovering strength). Nurses/PCAs mostly excellent (thanks Margarita, Marta, Bee, Kadia, Diane, John, Vina, Shormel & many more) and it’s never long before one comes in for a blood draw, vitals, glucose check or many other things that keep you from being asleep more than an hour or two, so they aren’t ignoring you. Overall, a good place to begin your recovery from whatever brought you there. The MDs in my situation were warm, alert and responsive to my goals. Once a DC plan was made, a steady succession of staff (picc installer, picc use trainer, outpatient coordination of IV and more things at home, and others) came in apace to get me out promptly.
Highly recommend patients download and use the My Mt Sinai app to track your schedules while inpatient.
Thank you for your service, healthcare professionals.

The reception personal in the main entrance are rude and disrespectful. I received much kinder treatment in the ER & Evaluation unit. However my experience walking through the hospitals main entrance was disgusting. The office of patient relations should really look into providing a better experience for their patients. The first impression is the most important.

I’m here in labor and delivery . This is my 3rd C-section here and the Drs were great and nurses . But there is one nurse here on the 11th floor helping me during my C-section recovery Saidah L. She’s the shift RN , she is AMAZING. Very attentive, sweet and helpful. The best nurse I’ve had. Wish all nurses were like her . I told her to keep being who she is & you can tell she loves her job . Please acknowledge her hard work and dedication, we need more nurses like her . Thanks Saidah!

Had an amazing birth experience at MSW! Felt very supported and cared for in the postpartum unit by all the staff that rounded on us. Everyone took time to explain everything and were friendly/kind throughout the stay. Highly recommend for birth and postpartum!

I have no words to describe how professional and kind are the staff at West Mount Sanai Hospital, my first time I gave Birth was on 2010 I was 18 years old and my second was in 2014 and my last one was a month ago 11/12/2023 and my experiences with the nurses was very nice. I have no complaints about none of them, including my OBGYN which is Dr. Mamdani I love him so much for treating me right during my entire pregnancy and the time of my C-Section, he’s such an amazing human being and an excellent Doctor.

I've had previous surgeries done at other hospitals, but none can compare to the level of care I received from Mount Sinai West. I had two slip disc in my back which did not respond to chiropractic treatment. After an MRI showed that surgery was necessary, Dr. Samuel K. Cho was highly recommended. After the necessary appointments, I felt like l made the right decision. My back surgery was done on November 8, 2023 by Samuel K. Cho, MD. I must say that the professionalism and care I received before, during and after surgery is unlike any treatment I've received elsewhere. I'm convinced that Mount Sinai West is the place to go for any medical treatment, and especially if it's orthopedic. Sending a huge thank you to the staff and most of all, to Dr. Cho for treating me like I was a member of his family.

I’m absolutely impressed and can’t find the right words to mention how competent, sweet, knowledgeable, respectful, attentive and dedicated the staff on 12th and 11th floor were during my labor and postpartum period. Thank you, wonderful people. Special thanks to my Dr. Sorkin to make the most precious time of my life unforgettable. And finally, I wish everywhere I go, I meet only these kind of people.

My birthing experience at Mount Sinai West was wonderful. Even though I had a lot of complications, the care I received was outstanding all the way from start to finish. Dr. Albert Ayoub put forth a high level of effort to deliver results. Absolutely IMPRESSED! The nurses were fantastic (Fahmida and Raquel). Presented themselves in a positive, professional manner.
I appreciate their follow-up and willingness to answer questions also. A big thank you to the other wonderful doctors, nurses, and aides who provided me with an exceptional experience.

Best hospital I’ve been to very easy to navigate inside and amazing staff. My surgeons Dr Urken, Dr Buchbinder, and Dr Winter were great along with the entire ENT team. RN Francisco in the ICU was extremely helpful and accommodating to me. RN Collin and PA Marsha in ICU step down unit were great as well. Very compassionate and amazing at their jobs and great sense of humor. They all made my stay very comfortable and pleasant.

I delivered my first child this June 2023 and Nurse Dorothy Chin made my stay beyond great. Nurse Dorothy Chin I can tell loves what she does. She has a great sense of urgency and a genuine heart to help. My husband and I felt we wanted to take her with us on our last day. Being a new mom, I feel confident because she taught me alot...from breast feeding to taking care of myself post delivery. I really hope to have her as our nurse again when we welcome baby number 2.

Gave birth 2 times in this hospital and was admitted to the emergency room 2 times as well. It has been the best experience with staff from reception to the doctors.

I was taking care of through my entire pregnancy at this location and I also gave birth there honestly I had a great experience, it was in year 2020 therefore appointments were a bit far apart but even after birth they always called me to check on me and the baby; provided me with some free stuff postpartum and diaper for the baby. Nice comfortable and spacious room, I truly enjoyed the experience.

I was there for 96 hours, and while no one wants to be in the hospital, every staff member I encountered was excellent! From the ER to the discharge, everyone does their best, even in challenging circumstances. These are people who care! Special thank you to the staff of 9A.
