We love coming here every summer! The sites are all pretty decently sized compared to other campgrounds we have been to. Some sites are definitely hidden gems. Whereas most are listed as waterfront or landlocked, campground regulars know the sites that include their own private beaches (unofficially of course). This campground used to be known as the big party spot but over the last six years coming regularly it really hasn’t been any thing like that. Yes it gets loud when it’s busy. But nothing out of hand like we have been told in the past. Dispersed throughout the campground are individual bathroom buildings (at least one in every camping section, always in walking distance), and there are three shower complexes. Two new with attached bathrooms and one older communal type.

Some key notes, bring lots of bug-spray. Keep an eye out for cancellations because sites book up fast but there are always cancellations. And bring bug spray.

Lovely campground for our first time camping as a family with friends. We were able to reserve spots early and got 5 asking the same loop, 3 in a row on the lake side, which allowed us to take full advantage of the trees in between for a hammock city for the kids. Conveniently had a bathroom just across the way. Our lot did have a bunch of sheared metal pipe so I would suggest inspecting the site before pulling in.

Bob the Ranger is the best!! Great campground, well maintained with a great staff. We saw the bald eagle at the beach. We're definitely putting this campground on the list to go back.

Beautiful camping spot. It was an amazing time with the kids! pick accordingly online, and you will get the prime spot you want. Make sure every vehicle and driver/camper is registered or you won't be staying the night.. dog friendly, showers, rv spots, camping spots, bathrooms..

We enjoy this state park to visit or camp at. You can buy firewood for cheap along the route in. There are two parts where you can swim at
1. A lifeguarded section that is to the left
And
2. A non life guarded section to the right. This is where day boats come to dock on the beach and party.

Loved it one of the best woody open private feeling state parks o have been to in a long time. Must of the sites look huge and have tons of room for you. All and all we really enjoyed this park Ave we will for sure find away back to it.

If you don’t mind not having hookups, then this is the place. Spacious & private lakeside site, dropped kayaks in easily. 2.5-3 pound bass all day on plastic minnows. Cute general stores a few miles away. Ask for Josh-he couldn’t have been nicer-very customer service orientated.

Have always enjoyed our time camping here. Sites are roomy and most are not right on top of others. We like the extra space. Love the first loop in the spring, as the water is high and there is great access for kayaking and boating. In the fall the lake is too low to access the water there, and that fools a lot of people who look at maps and don't know the many lake levels of the Sacandaga. Facility is always well kept and have never had any issues.

Quiet, beautiful and great wooded sites. Well worth the drive. At $22 a night it's a perfect vacation spot. Beach sites are awesome...#64 especially. Oh and hot showers too!

Site 15. No hookups. We carried our kayaks a few sites over to launch into creek. Wonderful place. Dumpstation is tight to navigate but has strong pressure for tank flush and seems to tilt towards drain. Beach and boat ramp are very nice.

The bathrooms weren't open by where we sat and the picnic tables aren't out for the season in the day beach part. But it was fun and peaceful.
