This is one of the top hospitals in the United States, particularly for cardiac care. My mother Deanna suffered from congestive heart failure, when she nearly died in 2003 they performed a mitral valve heart transplant and gave her six months to live. She survived another nine years under the care of Dr. Maria Karas. When my father had a stroke which should have disabled or killed him in 2017, he received care at Cornell-Weill and lived another four years, to age 90. From my family's experience this is the most top-notch hospital in New York.

I have been a nurse for 15 years outside of the US and within the US. I had lost hope that the compassion and care that I provided to my patients were a dime a dozen, and one could say they were lost with the new generation of nurses. My aunt was admitted and treated at this facility, and from the first day I stepped on 8 North, I knew she was well taken care of. The level of cohesiveness and teamwork that the staff displayed running to every call bell even if it were not their assigned patient. The effortless compassion given to my aunt even before anyone knew I was a nurse was a good feeling to say yes. This is my profession. She had encounters with the nurses on 8 Central and the CCU, and the compassion and patient centered care were still on point. When it came to providing information and updates about her care, one would say as a family information overload, which we did appreciate. Every provider within their specialty was awesome. Even while she was leaving us here on earth, the support towards my family was exceptional. Even after she was gone, the compassion still kept rolling in. To the administrative team, I hope you are showing your nurses that they are appreciated for a job well done. This was the first time I visited NY, and being in that hospital made me feel as though I want to be a part of that culture. Thank you for your exceptional and selfless care towards D.A my Aunt.

I had emergency brain surgery after a tumor was found. I was extremely irritable but , despite the fact that I was in so much pain and bothered by everything , the staff took such amazing care of me every day , the nurses are incredible and beyond hardworking. I spent over two weeks in this hospital and every nurse was amazing. A huge huge thank you to the whole entire staff

My mother-in-law has been omitted a number of times. Staff and clinicians have been professional and caring. They keep me (HCP) updated on her condition and tx plans.

I will never forget how kind everyone was to me. The doctors, nurses and all other staff. They conducted all necessary checks and only discharged me once satisfied with my progress. God bless everyone in this hospital. The kindness and care is anything I can put in words. Thank you.

When we registered at Weill Cornell ER they were expecting us to arrive by ambulance not on foot. Harlem Hospital sabotaged our ambulance transfer that insurance would have paid for by stating my mom’s emergency surgery case was non-emergent. Anyway, we were immediately taken to triage and my mom placed on a stretcher. They gave her pain meds while they looked over her records. I was given a comfortable chair to sit in next to her stretcher. We were in an area with one other person but had a rotating door of crazies next to us. After being awake for 20 hrs and feeling delirious I found it comical. The gastrointestinal doctors visited my mom throughout the night and had to repeat the cat scan because the images sent by HH weren’t readable. She needed another drainage tube but this time it was placed properly and it worked! They let it drain throughout the night and by the morning was taking her up to surgery.
The family waiting room for surgery patients is so relaxing and welcoming. David was the welcome center coordinator who greeted everyone and ran down amenities and what the process would be like. Updates such as surgery start time, completion and when family can visit, are given in real time once you register your cell number for text notifications. They have a small conference room for doctors to give updates to families. They have a charging station for cell phones and will check your bags in until your relative is ready to leave post-op for their assigned room. They even gave me professional courtesy to check my work email once I showed my NYP ID. My mom’s surgery was a success and after a couple of hours in post-op she was taken to her room which only had two other beds. She received a welcome BINDER when she arrived on her floor and a bag full of toiletries. I can’t say enough good things about how my mom was treated and I thank everyone who was attentive and compassionate and took wonderful care of her.

I was here today 1/6/24 after being dragged across pavement by someone on a moped trying to rob me (they failed.) The doctors were so kind, not just to me, but to everyone around me. I saw them offer people the best care they could and even go beyond that to see how they could set them up for success upon leaving the emergency room. I was really shaken up after what had happened to me and immediately calmed down because of how kind and focused they were. Thank you so much for what you did for me today. This was one of the worst days of my life and I was lucky that the cab driver brought me here because he thought it was the closest one. It wasn’t the closest so I could’ve ended up elsewhere but I am so happy I didn’t.

Weill Cornell Hospital stands out not only as a top national medical institution but also as an architectural marvel. The level of medical expertise and patient care is truly commendable. In addition, the hospital's design is breathtaking, seamlessly merging state-of-the-art facilities with beautiful architectural aesthetics. A testament to excellence in both healthcare and design.

They took great care of me. Whenever I need a medical necessity I come here. They helped officiate me to go to Ditmas Park Rehab And Nursing for my therapy. Both Cornell and Ditmas Park Rehab and Care are excellent healthcare facilities.

My name is Keisha H... I was admitted to downtown NY Presbyterian on Friday, 9/1 in the morning. The ER Dr. was so through and ran a lot of exams, took blood work, and was determine to find out what caused me to be wheezing. I do not have asthma. A ER Dr. told me at on 8/29 that there was a small leak in my heart, so that caused fluid to build up in my lungs and he released me. This ER Dr. told me to see my PCP. I am glad I received so much better care at NY Presbyterian. I will never forget the look on the ER Dr.'s face when he explained to me that there is fluid around my heart and within my fluids. It was a small amount, but he needs to know the cause and he could not release me in that condition, so I was being admitted. This ER Dr. also explained that Cornell is better equipped to find out the problem and I would be transferred uptown. I was treated a like a Queen inside Cornell. I had a pulmonary and cardiologist team. They noticed something within my blood work and then I was also assigned a hematology/oncology team. The nurses assigned me to were amazing. Some called me their best patient. SMILE I could not believe the care I received, during my 9 day stay. These medical professionals cared about getting me healthy and making sure my heart area and lungs were cleared before I was discharged. I cannot thank them enough. I never received care like this before. I am beyond grateful. I wish I knew their names, so I can give them a shout-out personally. However, I am grateful for the care I received. They were beyond amazing. THANK YOU!!!! THANK YOU!!! THANK YOU!!!

I love this hospital! I took my niece Kayla to emergency room because she was having a severe allergic reaction to cupcakes. Her eyes were swelling, she wasn’t breathing, and she was coughing. The ER doctors were friendly and amazing to my 4 year old niece. When Kayla ate the cupcakes, she started to break up at a rash. She started itching, she wasn’t breathing, she was vomiting, her eyes were swollen, and she was sneezing and coughing. She stopped breathing. I called 911, and the ambulance came. She was on life support shortly after she was taken to the hospital in critical condition. The doctors are great. I am very happy to come here! They are kid friendly. It is so great!

One of the best hospitals to go to. Especially the emergency room. You will get top care with friendly staff and amazing nurses and doctors. Also don't forget about the EMTs and Medics that bring you to the hospital when you call 911. NYP has many great employees. Very happy to be taken here and happy to get the care here. Only thing that isn't so great is the parking and the cost of parking that is around the neighborhood.

I am currently admitted and truthfully I am so happy we made the 40 minute drive here. I am so impressed with the care and compassion. All of my nurses and doctors have been beyond amazing and it is such a pleasure to meet the residents and students. And shockingly the food is good for a hospital lol. Definitely my hospital of choice. Thanks NYP

Big apple vertical hospital, clean and rank top 5 in NYC and top 10 in USA. Clean and modern equipment, despite old heater and sink.

I had to go the ER because of really bad abdominal pain at 4 AM. I am not from the city but was blown away by how efficient and caring everyone was. My only gripes are the security process as well as the overall state of the ER. It's not dirty, just really outdated. But one thing I know is that just because something looks pretty doesn't mean that they provide great care. This place does. I was in a bed in the hallway, but I felt like I was the only person there. I had 3 doctors caring for me as well as a litany of nurses, techs and support staff.

Where I am from in PA, you're lucky to speak to a person after an hour of waiting. Here, within 2 hours, I had relief, answers and a plan to help my problem and I was discharged. Thank you NY Presbyterian for getting me back in vacation mode!

I’m forever gonna be thankful for this place, my daughter was extremely sick on the verge of death when she was born and thanks to the competence of medical staff and technology she is 100% better. Not to mention it’s very well taken care and they made my wife who had a c sections stay very comfortable. The medical staff even offered counseling during the rough time, extremely outgoing. God knows what would’ve happened if we would’ve went to a different hospital

I had my daughter at NYP/Weill Cornell in December 2021. Everyone was professional, respectful and courteous. The labor and delivery process went perfectly and my personal OBGYN, Dr. Hockstein, delivered my daughter. I can't recommend him enough! After delivery, the food was actually excellent (for hospital food) and the nurses were just incredible. Lisa A. (L&D nurse) was unforgettable and Sarah B. (post-partum) was wonderful. Overall, definitely a 5 star experience!

I had undiagnosed endometriosis/large ovarian cysts and one ruptured on Friday morning. I have never been in so much pain in my life and ended up needing emergency surgery. When I say that I was treated like a damn queen from the moment i walked in the door, i am not taking that lightly. I have had many many hospital visits as a child and i never remember such care and concern from every single person that I encountered. My doctors, anesthesiologists and nurses were amazing and I am on the mend. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for making me feel safe when everything else felt out of control. I will forever recommend this emergency room.
