Northville Lake Placid Trail Head, Northville

A beautiful small town nestled between the Great Sacandaga Lake and foothills to the ADK mountains. Great shops, restaurants, and galleries can be found up and down Main Street.

After we parked and started the walk we realized we went the wrong direction. Once you park you need to head towards the actual village and follow signs. It takes you over a very long bridge and you have to follow a few streets in order to get to the actual woods. If you're looking to enjoy the scenery of a small village with a lot of cafes and stores it's decent walk. But I would suggest parking at the second parking location where the trail actually starts in the woods. Which is not too far away of a drive from this particular location. Once we found the second parking area and started the hike it's definitely overgrown and could be a bit tedious for kids. It was marked very well for the amount we walked which was about a mile.

We didn't realize that this part of the trail (starting in Northville) started on streets. We were just wanting a short hike and hadn't seen any indications that this part of the trail was on streets. We did see info later on this, our bad! So hope this review helps people that skim articles
