I was meandering through the historic Middletown area, which is beginning to bustle with various shops and eateries, hoping there would be a quaint local coffee shop I could do some work in. Mockingbird's was a great little discovery. It has a funky colorful aesthetic with welcoming home-town vibes, but most importantly - GREAT CUBAN SANDWICHES.

I ordered the cuban, it was made fresh, it was brought to me hot!! I have not had a bad meal there! Give them a try, you will not be disappointed😋

The breakfast was fantastic and inexpensive! I ordered the western skillet with wheat toast and sausage. My wife ordered the ham breakfast burrito and we split a large order of the sausage gravy and biscuits. The western skillet was delicious, well flavored and savory and the toast was good. The breakfast burrito was simple but very good also, according to my wife, and they weren't skimpy with the ham. Now I consider myself a hard judge when it comes to biscuits and gravy. Our family has our own recipe and it's delicious. At the mockingbird cafe they start with a vegan gravy and add sausage in. Normally to me that would be a big red flag because the sausage adds a lot of flavor into normal sausage gravy, but honestly I could've eaten the biscuits and gravy without the sausage. The gravy was well flavored, perfectly peppery and savory without meat. Because of the plant milk there was a little bit of sweetness to the gravy, but the way that it was seasoned it actually made it enhance the flavor rather than detract from it. The biscuits I can't say too much about, they were fluffy and tasty and went well with the gravy. Overall, The food is great, the atmosphere is pleasant and relaxing, and the wall decor is fun to look at while you wait. Which there is a short wait as they make the food fresh for you when you order it, which means you get a good hot meal. The orders are well portioned, you don't leave feeling stuffed or sick. I will definitely be back here to try some of the other items on their menu, maybe even for lunch sometime.

Nice , friendly diner. The breakfast sandwiches are delicious. When my family and I travel out of town, we always eat at places like this because they are quaint with friendly people and Mockingbirds was just that.

I'm a regular here on Saturdays because they are the most friendly, kind hearted folks serving up great classic diner breakfasts. The cookies are amazing, and they'll always customize to fit our dietary needs. Love this place!!!!

Great service and awesome food!

The food is reasonably priced and portions are perfect. The breakfast is super tasty and I have enjoyed their soups a couple of times for lunch. The bottom line, if you want a good meal, served with a side of nice, go to Mockingbird's Cafe. Kindness makes meals taste better and it doesn't get much better than this folks.

Amazing, delicious food, coffee, ice cream and equally as Amazing owners/operators, Nancy and Tim! Every time we eat here we are welcomed and treated like family. They have many options for all. Meat eaters to Vegan options as well. All options of food are tasty. The presentation is very good as well and the prices are great for everyone. This is a wonderful addition to the downtown breakfast and lunch scene. Yum! Please stop in a try it if you haven’t yet. See you guys again very soon!

Mockingbirds catered my workshop today. Everyone was thrilled with the yummy food, the lovely presentation, and really impressed that each of us received a handwritten thank you note. Great attention to detail. There was also a gift of vegan cookies to one workshop participant who had not even ordered a lunch. Very generous spirit, seeing to it that no one felt left out. Great food and friendly service!

Travelling for work this is the most homely atmosphere. Its like going downstairs as a kid and having your mom make you breakfast. The veggie burger is the best I've had and yes I put bacon on it!

Delicious food and delightful atmosphere. The macaroni and cheese is to die for, but don't worry, it comes with a side of heavenly broccoli slaw. A foodie's dream, if you ask me! Open 9-2:30.

Cheddar cheese soup to die for! Cuban sandwich was awesome! Wanted to try the mac n cheese with bacon but it was sold out!! Maybe next visit!! Will definitely come again!!!
