Antiques are throughout the main house. Room 312 has the most wonderful bed. It’s called a “portrait bed”. Beautifully carved walnut from 1880s. A portrait is commonly painted in the head and footboards.
I had a nice soak in the beautiful stand alone tub.
Room 310 is equally beautiful and the last one that they like to offer as it has no view of the ocean or balcony. But as I felt compelled to give it a try I was very pleased to find the most beautiful room with a cozy feel and angels to watch over my very comfortable sleep. Also a great reading nook which I spent hours digging into a very good book. The bed was owned by someone who had my last name so that made things extra special for me. I was told she was the lady in the painting in the stairwell. I find that painting draws me in and makes me very curious of who she is.

We LOVED our stay here. We even did a YouTube video on it. It’s priced so well for the location and it’s pet friendly. The pet fee is $40, higher than some other places but with the price of the motel, you can’t beat it. There’s a pool, balconies that you can see the ocean from, kitchenette rooms… the rooms aren’t perfect, but they’re clean. We did see some tiny baby roaches in the middle of the night but never saw a big one. I do hope they get the roach thing under control, but overall, we loved our stay and we’ll be back tomorrow night!!!

Right on the beach with a balcony to be able to just hear the waves at night was totally relaxing. Didn’t have any trouble, very quiet.

This hotel is a gem. It is a budget accommodation and being so, guests should expect no frills. What you will find is a simple and clean room with a decent bed, a pool to float in, and rooms facing the ocean with sunrise views. I had read reviews of the the bedding being a sheet and thin coverlet, so I bought a cheap fleece throw before arriving. This style of bedding is common in Florida budget hotels and though I prefer more bedding, it is what I expect to find when I book a budget motel.
The room was spacious and all the rooms face the ocean and ours, being on the second floor, had a great view of the ocean and sunrise. There was a microwave and fridge/freezer in the room that served us well and though the shower easily went from hot to cold and back again, it was understandable as it was an older fixture.

My friends and I stay there often..we always have the best time! Swim right across the street in the ocean then take a dip in the motel pool.. Lots of fun bars and restaurants to walk to. Beautiful ocean views from most rooms.. The the people that work there are always super nice and helpful and u can't beat the price for that location.

I LOVE the Topaz Motel and Flagler Beach!!! Some of the reviews had us a little skeptical, but we decided to give it a try. What a gem!!! My husband and I had a room on the back side of the house, and our friends were in a room with a balcony in one of the buildings to the left of the house. You could see the ocean from their room! I mean, the beach is literally right across the street! You can hear the waves crashing from the parking lot. It was fascinating to learn a little about the history of the hotel. Apparently the owner was an architect (which is part of why the house is so fun to explore! I now have a goal to go back and stay in every room!!) Each room in the house is decorated with different antiques, and the rooms in the separate buildings are just like what you’d expect of an older beach house hotel room. Yes, there were some things that didn’t quite work haha like a bathroom lock in our friend’s room or one of the lamps in ours, but honestly, we LOVED the ambiance and experience of it. We did have a few little drain flies in our room, but they really aren’t a bother, and you could tell the room was well cared for and cleaned. It’s an amazing price for a literal beach side hotel, and I wish we could’ve spent our entire vacation there! Oh, and we also spoke with a lady who was visiting from Southern Florida who said that Flagler is where the locals vacation because it’s so calm and not crowded. I couldn’t agree more! It was just perfect!

Was our first time here, 3 weekends ago! I personally LOVE this 1920's mansion/Inn/motel.
There are a few issues that could be corrected. I'm going to say, google search the history of the "original" mansion. BUT, If you are looking for "LUXURY" hotels etc, I'm going to strongly suggest, you be a high roller and pay the big bucks per night else where! We stayed in one of the original upstairs mansion rooms. HUGE BALCONY, facing the ocean across the street. I've read many reviews, and i cannot / will not comment on the 2 story outer wings. But, i can /will say our 2 day/1 night stay was amazing in the original mansion. IF, you're into old school history/etc, this is the place for YOU! The 5 pics of mine, are of the "museum" on the main floor. I also want to add, that the lady working the phone/desk during the day, was AWESOME! We conversed with her, and she was very generous. WE WILL BE BACK!

My Ole lady and I went back this past week. We stayed in a different upper/ balcony room facing the ocean. Again, WE LOVED IT! Different set up, within the room. This place is like getting trading cards (you gotta collect them all / gotta stay in all the different rooms)! Different Antiques etc in each mansion room.

We absolutely loved this hotel. The antiques were an unexpected bonus. Location is perfect. The desk staff was wonderful. They happily allow dogs. People posting that the rooms were run down and old seem a bit silly to me. It is an old hotel. It is historic. Our room was perfectly clean and kept. Our maid service even set up my children’s teddy bears adorably on the bed after cleaning.

So, it is very important to remember that this is a beach motel that allows you to vacation with your dogs. If you want the Ritz, this isn't the place for you. If you want a a nice place to stay that is right across the street from a beach that allows dogs, you are looking at the right place. The rooms were outdated, but clean and comfortable. The bathroom was outdated, but clean and the water was nice and hot. I didn't see any bugs during the three days we were there. The staff was friendly, the pool was clean, there was a hose by the pool that we used to rinse off the sandy dogs. All the people that were staying around us were friendly dog people. You can walk to all the good bars and restaurants in the little town. Don't be swayed by the freaked out reviewers who can't stand a little Old Florida. We would stay again. Only thing I would add to the owners is that it would be nice to have a broom and dustpan in the rooms. Since housekeepers don't clean daily anymore, it would be great to be able get the beach sand out.

The two housekeepers who took care of us all week were wonderful. The manager was great. Check in was easy after a delayed flight with a five year old. The on site restaurant was great. Nice pool area and steps from the beach. I loved it here.

One of the friendliest hotels I have ever been to . From the kitchen staff to the front desk and cleaning service. Everyone goes out of their way to accommodate you and beyond. They let us park our trailer in a spot that was perfect for us and a little inconvenient for them. Helpful and charming. Pet Friendly !!! And the views are amazing ! With access to a pet friendly beach right across the street. Perfect place for us.

The Topaz was a great place to stay for the week. The house keepers were very courteous, the staff in general were extremely pleasant. The pool area could use more daily attention. I'd like to mention it would be highly recommended to reserve parking near the rooms to the guests staying with you instead of allowing the restaurant patrons to take it all up, it's unfair to your guests. We will be back with all that said.

Great place. They put us in a neat little room in the back. Not the ritz, but no bugs (which is our nightmare), or any other weird things. Very safe, and quiet next to the beach. Could’ve been a little cleaner, but no complaints for the price. Across from the beach, and down the road from everything.

If your idea of a motel stay is a Super 8, this may not be for you. But if you're into Old Florida in all its beachfront kitschy splendor, it's a must-stay. Admittedly showing its age and a bit threadbare in places, it's stuffed full of history and antiques and quirky design choices. It's just so cool - and it's run by some very nice folks. If you're looking for something different, right on the sea in a great little beach town, this is your place.

Rooms were clean literally across the street from the ocean you can hear the ocean in the day and night . Beautiful view. Staff was very friendly we were able to go inside and see the original rooms and stairs as the were. I hope they never remodel the inside of the house if you love history and want to experience it I recommend it. I will be back.

Great motel here in Flagler Beach. Beach access diagonally across the street, pool, comfy beds and a great view of the sunrise.
The staff is very friendly and gave us privacy for accommodating our large family during our stay.
