My cousin, who is a ham operator, was visiting from Italy. He was looking for a place to see him, operating equipment, etc. I located your store on a Google search and drove up from Bellingham, Massachusetts. My cousin loved it. He had a great time talking with the staff and he enjoyed working all of the different devices you allowed him to use in the store. Thank you for being so genuinely interested in helping my cousin have a good time.

These people are absolutely awesome. My orders from my local store are delivered next day, they’re super helpful, and even almost instantly answered some stupid questions I asked on one of their YouTube videos. Can’t speak highly enough about them.

Was on my way back from a weeks vacation in Maine and decided to go through NH and stop at HRO to buy a new mag mount dual band antenna and see what they had in person. I have ordered on-line from them in the past. They were closed to walk in shopping, but called them and they said I could still order online or if I told them on the phone what I needed / looking for, catalog part numbers they could tell right then if they had it in the store that I could have it delivered to me curb side. While there two other people walked up, they drove 3 1/2 hrs and seen that no in store shopping was allowed, because of the pandemic. I told them what the man on the phone told me, believe his name was Steve when I called the store. I put in my order and they had all the things I was looking for and brought them right out and payed the bill. The 2 other people also put in their order when the man brought out my order and we're happy that I told them about calling the store. They people / staff at HRO were very helpful, kind, and very customer friendly and thank them for the service / job they did. Recommend this place to any HAMS out there. As a newbie, I find the staff knowledgeable and will spend time answering my stupid questions. They don't try to upsell me and direct me to products that I will be able to use at my experience level.

One of the only games in town if you want to see and handle products before you buy. It's a small shop, but they've got a massive amount of product in there.

Worth the trek -- Rockingham Mall is nearby with decent food options, make a morning or afternoon of it -- and it's sales tax free NH!

I went to the Salem location today looking to purchase a antenna. I thought I had found what I needed in the online forums and went to purchase it at the store. While Joe was ringing me up he asked for a call sign. Not being a ham I told him this was for a scanner. He asked "why are you buying this antenna?" to which I replied is there something else you would recommend? He showed me the antenna he uses for home/mobile with an SDS 100. I ended up buying that one and saving $40. The antenna improved my mobile reception significantly and I am very happy with the purchase and the guidance form the experienced staff. I have only been in the store a few times but I am always greeted and asked if I need help finding anything or what I am looking for. 10/10 would recommend this place for anyone new or seasoned to the hobby.

I read a review where a fellow member of the tribe, complained about Barry, some several months ago. Barry is one of the finest fellows in the Ham Radio community that I know. Barry is an Extra Class and the go to fellow for international sales across the HRO community of stores. I know Dave and Barry, personally and I ask for them when I travel to Salem, during my cross state/cross country adventures! Both fellows are outstanding men, first class ham operators, and very very helpful, when it comes to selecting and acquiring "state of the art" equipment that HRO is world famous for selling! HRO has the best equipment, service and prices when it comes to purchasing of the finest ham equipment that your hard earned money can buy! They are also the only nation wide - regionally based chain with brick and mortor retail locations that you can go and see the equipment and talk with the experts in ham radio to get what you need for you Amateur Radio experience!

Fantastic service! Having recently passed my General exam, I stopped in earlier this week to look at various HF transceiver and antenna options. Joe M provided great insights to the pros and cons of each and me identify my next big purchases...from HRO to be sure.

Another great visit to the HRO Salem NH store. I ordered a Yaesu FTDX-101MP transceiver and Yaesu M-1 mic (and other goodies) from Dave and picked it up a few days later at the store. Bill was great with the completion of the order and we had a very nice conversation before leaving. He even helped me load the car! Now that's service. Thanks Dave, Bill and everyone at HRO!

The Salem location is a great place for all your ham needs. They are really helpful and give great advice. Also have a large inventory of gear and if they don't have it, they can probably have it shipped to you from a different store. I try to patronize them as much as possible. A great place for all things ham!

I placed an order with Dave at the Salem NH store and picked up the order a few days later. He had my Icom IC-705 with lots of accessories ready for me when I arrived. He also gave me excellent directions on how to get to the store on my trip from PA to ME. I also purchased an Icom IC-R30 at the store with some other accessories. Dave made it easy and was very personable and helpful. I'm planning to stop at the store on my way back to PA for more goodies. Thanks Dave!

We are really lucky to have a HRO store in this area. It is so nice to see physical goods being sold by real hams with real helpful advice. Great selection of antennae and related supplies for the amateur radio veteran or fledgling operator.

After 6 months of trying, I finally made it to HRO. Not sure what to expect but I was very pleased and impressed with what I found. The staff was very helpful and friendly, Pete took time to ask questions and offer suggestions. Most importantly he didn't laugh at my hair-brained plans or misconceptions! He was also very good at offering several options with pros and cons to each. I've been looking for an HT for a while and this was a chance to actually touch the models I was looking at. I was impressed with the amount of inventory that they had on hand. I will return in the near future to purchase from HRO.

I love this store. I'm a new ham ... like just out of the wrapper. The guys here (Joe and someone I didn't get their name) are extremely helpful in helping newbies ... they are all ham guys/ hobbyists themselves.

Best thing ... They're cheaper than amazon, free delivery over 100 bucks. I ordered a radio on a saturday and the mailmen was handing it over to me (I live in the mountains) early monday morning ... how's that for service.
