Hang Gliding Launch

Beautiful once to the top. The hike up is a bit challenging at first but if taking it slow it’s doable. Worth the hike.
To get there park at Tinker falls and the first trail on the right is the one to the overlook

A fairly steep hike from the parking lot across from Tinker Falls. Fun to hike all times of the year. In early spring, you will see acres of leeks to the right of the trail about halfway up. Be sure to take the detour that takes you to the top of Tinker Falls, and be careful of your footing as it's quite a drop down. The view at the top of Hand Glider Hill is magnificent.

Very popular spot with the dogs! It's a short trek to Tinker Falls & quite a hike (but so worth it) to the outlook point. No anemities & please take your trash.

Great hike with a moderately challenging climb. From the Tinker Falls parking area, a great hike is to follow the paths up and around the waterfall. At the top of the fall, follow the trail left to the main trail to the hang glider launch. That trail is steep at times, but the view is worth it - especially on a clear day. Take the main trail back down to the parking lot. In all, the hike takes about an hour plus time for enjoying the views.

What a great view point. We day hiked a piece of the Onondaga Trail and came across this. Pictures do not do it justice.

What as great spot! The vertical hike is strenuous and rewarding. The view is breathtaking. The waterfall can be spiritual if you want it to be so. Labrador Hollow is in the vicinity.

It was a bit of a hike but overall amazing. Me and my best friend are watching the sunset together here.

Favorite view in CNY... I like to hike up from the backside (Spruce Pond) which is longer than parking at Tinker Falls, but not any more difficult. The first part is steep, then if flattens out for the rest of the hike.

This is a nice uphill hike that you can combine with the Tinker Falls trail to make a nice 2 mile loop. The trail to the hang glider launch is steepest at the bottom but non-technical. The views from the top overlooking Labrador Pond and the valley are stunning. If you're lucky you'll see the hand gliders launching on a nice day!

Amazing view pretty good hike too.

I was last here almost 30 years ago shooting black and white film. There were actually two hang gliders launching that afternoon. At that time I believe I came in from the North on the Finger Lakes Trail, which was just being built at that time. Curious why the FLT is not being mentioned in any of the reviews, though I saw it on one of the signs in a photo. This and Tinker Falls are beautiful spots along the FLT, hope it has been completed or is still in existence.

Even with my knee injury it was worth the pain and sweat.
