We were attending a wedding near Mt. Pleasant and made a reservation at The Gingko Tree Bed and Breakfast. We did this based on reviews we had read, and we were not disappointed. This is a beautiful Victorian home and is decorated with that era in mind. We were on the third floor in a quaint room with a private bath and a balcony overlooking the common area. The bed was very comfortable, and the room had an electric fireplace for ambiance - such a nice touch. We were greeted by a very nice young man with enthusiasm and pleasantness. The morning gourmet breakfast was outstanding and served with fine china, gold tone flatware and linen tablecloth and napkins. This is a first-class bed and breakfast! I would definitely return and recommend to friends and family for a most enjoyable experience.

The owners of this place were so friendly and welcoming to us at an end of a long trip. They even had live music and cocktails the night we stayed! The rooms were nice, spacious, and clean. The location is also very walkable to the shopping and a few cool coffee shops. Great place. We will return!

This is a place that cares about the small details and doing them well! It resulted in an excellent experience. One example is that I gave an arrival time for my stay. I got there at the appointed time, and the host opened the door with a smile. It will be worth your while to try them out!

My husband and I were in town for a concert and chose to stay at Ginkgo Tree. The rooms are comfortable, homey and very clean. The old Victorian house is done up so beautifully. David and Layla make you feel as though you are part of the family. If we are in town again, we will definitely be staying there.

Amazing Decor! Quiet and lovely space to come and relax. I came out to the live music event and also the wine tasting event! Both events were lovely great food and drinks. I will be back!

First experience at a bed and breakfast. They’ve set the bar high to compare. Will definitely be staying again. Friendly staff, clean accommodations, and beautiful historical building.

WOW! My parents stayed here for a getaway night and they were treated with the best hospitality! This building is so unique and styled so perfect. They said the bed sheets were the most comfiest they have ever slept in. The breakfast was so delicious and special knowing it was homemade just for them. I will definitely be recommending all my friends and family check out Ginkgo Tree Inn when they are in town. Thank you so much for making such a special stay for them!

Seriously this place is AMAZING. We were a little nervous staying at a Bed & Breakfast because they can be so hit or miss but honestly we had the BEST experience (my husband is pretty bougie and loved it). The owners are so wonderful and welcoming. You can tell they love what they do and have so many little touches that make it special. The bed was beyond comfortable and our room was so homey we extended our stay an extra night. Breakfast was amazing all the days with awesome lattes and delicious coffee. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and will absolutely stay again if we find ourselves in Mount Pleasant!

I was in town for a Celebration of Life and my family and friends had most of the rooms. This is such a gem of a place. The 3 hosts were amazing. Rooms were all decorated differently and they made you feel like you were in a different time, with all the modern amenities. The bed was so comfortable and the breakfast was truly delicious. The bacon was the best I’ve ever had. My 86 year old aunt wanted a light drink and they made her a spritzer with wine and squirt. She loved it and was so excited! If you are ever lucky enough to be in Mount Pleasant, I highly recommend that you book a room! You won’t be sorry! Everyone and everything was lovely!

I needed to write a review for this venue/B&B because no one deserves praise more than they do! First the location and the home itself. GORGEOUS! Beautifully decorated, clean and you truly feel like you have joined their family the second you walk through the door! The venue and space they provide is gorgeous and their plans for the future are only going to make this spot more and more desirable.

Last- the ownership! This is what makes the Ginkgo Tree truly amazing! The ownership, Layla especially, are honestly some of the most incredible, caring people you will ever meet. They are invested in you, genuine, and just so grounded and down to earth! If you haven’t stopped by the Ginkgo Tree or at least set a call to hear what it is all about do so now! You will not be disappointed.

My parents stayed here for about a week this fall and they absolutely loved The Ginkgo Tree. The location, the beautiful victorian building, the breakfast, but more than anything else, was how kind and helpful the owners David & Layla were throughout their stay. I had some apprehension about my parents travelling across the country without us but could tell right from my first conversation with Layla that they were in good hands. I look forward to our next family trip back to Mt Pleasant and will definitely stay here!

Stayed at the B&B on 12/5/23. The room was very comfortable and quiet. The owner David was very friendly and hospitable. Had an early flight from the airport so wasn’t there for breakfast. I really enjoyed my stay in this lovely old house!

This is our second stay at The Ginkgo Tree. Just a lovely old house, very homey, and beautifully decorated. We stayed in the Wedgewood both times and the room was very comfortable with plenty of room for two. David and Layla are great hosts and super friendly. Even though it was a little cool outside, we did enjoy a nice glass of wine on the beautiful front porch. Very relaxing. We only stayed for breakfast three times, but it was excellent with a nice presentation each time. Having the ability to make a cup of coffee in the Lincoln Library whenever we wanted it was nice too. These former “townies” thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Thank you Layla and David!

The BEST bed and breakfast in Michigan. It’s so beautiful, unique and clean. The staff and owners are absolutely amazing. They were both polite and professional. My brother had his wedding here and they made it a night we will never forget from start to finish! Overall 100/10!!

Absolutely one of the best experiences. From the booking to checkout and everything in between, David and Layla extended outstanding hospitality. We were able to check in early with the inclement weather and were warmly welcomed when we arrived. They ensured we had everything we needed for our stay and went above with extras to make it feel like home. The decor is wonderful and our room was comfortably appointed. We appreciated the warm cookies on our last night and looked forward to the delicious breakfasts each morning. A huge thank you to them both for making our stay so memorable. We look forward to seeing you again when we come back up.

Absolutely lovely! We stayed at the Ginkgo Tree Inn for a family reunion. There was a Journey concert that same weekend, and the chain hotels had jacked up their prices. Well sucks for them because that led us to the Inn, and we’ll be staying here on our Mt Pleasant trips from now on!

David and Layla were so kind and friendly. The breakfast (made by Layla) was phenomenal and worth the stay just for that!

It’s location is great - right between Island Park and downtown. Everything was a short walk away. The park is lovely with new skate ramps, pickle ball courts, and a water park for kids!

We stayed in room 8. It’s a large room with the most comfortable bed! I slept really well.

While we didn’t take advantage of some amenities because of time constraints, we did enjoy coffee on the back patio which was lovely. They also have beer and wine available.

We’ll be back!

Ginkgo Tree was a delightful experience on our Great Lakes road trip. We wanted lodging with charm, comfort, quiet, and relaxation, and Ginkgo Tree delivered and then some. The Inn itself is a beautifully restored and appointed historic home, built ~1910. Parking was plentiful and convenient.
Breakfast was superb. Our hosts, David and Layla, were friendly, helpful, and accommodating. The scenic location on Main Street, adjacent to the river and a park, and just a block away from downtown shops and dining, certainly put the "Pleasant" in Mt Pleasant. Why would you ever stay in a chain hotel on a freeway exit when you can stay at a full service B&B?

Absolutely charming inn. Conveniently located near downtown. The owners were amazing! Layla was great and prepared an amazing breakfast, David made us feel right at home with cocktails and conversation on the back patio. The rooms are filled with character, each unique and elegant. We can't wait to return and watch their vision of this destination place grow.

David and Layla are fantastic host. House is magnificent, staff is excellent. We spend an anniversary there and got to watch a wedding too! We will be back, love to stay in every room at least once.
