Good deals on used books, plus a great selection of new and recent releases. I brought in several books for trade-in credit and they offered between 1-2$ per book. Nice way to recycle and share.

Excellent independent bookstore selling new and gently used books. Wonderful selection and nicely priced used books. Want to return already.

Really great place to buy books; they sell both used and new books alike and have a great selection. It has a cozy atmosphere that feels more akin to a library. The staff has always been very nice and helpful whenever I’ve been inside.

Beautiful bookshop with an incredible selection of new and used books. The store is quite expansive, but has a cozy atmosphere. Staff was friendly and helpful, but allowed for comfortable browsing without pestering.

I'm pretty sure they lost a cat recently. Meant to ask when I was here yesterday, but forgot in my search for a specific book. My condolences to all who loved him.

Also, I'd be willing to be the new cat. I'm nowhere near as cute or cuddly, but I could certainly take naps all over the store. Lemme at those books, and a nice patch of sunlight, maybe the arm of a couch, and I'd be purring right away. As long as someone feeds me once in a while, I wouldn't even need to be paid that much. Maybe not at all.

In any case, they did not have the book I was seeking, but checked to see if they could get it for me. Stellar people working here, and a great selection of books. If you live in the area, or even somewhere nearby, you should probably check 'em out.

Maybe you'll see me there, curled up on the arm of a couch. The offer's been made.

We happened on this little bookstore while in the area and I am so happy that we did, stepping into the store we encountered a wonderful space, The store is divided into two sections in what appear to be two old neighboring houses converted into stores, The " main " entrance is on the left and the "annex" is to the right.. both are filled with wonderful shelves of books of every genre and with every turn a new room greets you with nooks and crannies of books and cozy sitting spaces to explore, It's like stepping into a wonderland of countless tales, all waiting to go home with you.. as I explred the spaces, in that moment I had a wish to be one of the "borrowers" so I could live in a "secret space " in the store, to come out at night when the shop had closed.. oh the lifetime of adventures to be had in such a place, and indeed, we did take some home with us!!
If you want to go, make sure to set aside enough time to explore this wonderful shop. You won't be disappointed, the staff were knowledgeable and extremely helpful.
The pricing was good, I would say on par with most businesses of this type, with the more specialized i.e. local authors or signed editions costing a little more, but still less than say a Barnes & Noble.
What more can I say.... it's your turn.

My favorite bookstore in Kalamazoo! This one is worth the drive. Owners and staff truly love books, and it shows. Books are well presented and curated. It will take you at least an hour to go through the place, and you will be rewarded for your efforts, I promise. Highly recommend!

Great local bookstore. It's clear they love books. My son has been asking to stop for ages. I thought it was tiny and specialty. I was blown away at how big it is and all the parking in the back. It feels like you are driving through a backyard, but then it opens up to a parking lot. It is so extensive they have another building on the other side of the walk way. I quite enjoyed reading a new find in one of the chairs while my son found some books he had been looking for for years.

I have been passing by this place for years without realizing what a treasure trove it is. You have to experience it for yourself to really understand how well-stocked this place is, but in the simplest description, it is two connected houses filled top to bottom with old and new books. There were four people working the store the day I visited, each of them offering to help me at one time or another, and were the most delightful people. The other shoppers seemed to really take joy in being there, so I know I’m not the only one. Kzoo Books is my go-to spot for books now.

I had researched book stores near the area and this came up. The pictures don't do it justice. At first I was a bit confused where I had to park because I was excited. Once I parked in the back I noticed people walking from one part of the bookstore to what I thought was a house next door. Before opening the door there was a sign that said "Speak friend and enter", and I felt like home. This place makes you feel cozy and invites you in. I was impressed when I opened the door. The walls were covered with bookshelves with used and new books. If you're lucky enough like I was you will be followed by a beautiful curious cat while you browse around. Used books had a reduced price but they had great quality. They also had antique books and a small section for classics in different languages. I loved that they had chairs for people to sit comfortably and read a little. They also have a little area where you can find notebooks, among other gifts you can give someone beside a good book. I greatly appreciated that you can put the books you are interested near the cash register and let them know that you are still browsing. They will put a small sign on top of your books so they don't get put away and you don't have to be carrying them around the books around. It was fun to go down the stairs and still have books on the way down to see. And I still had to go next door! They had a wide variety of books for teenagers and children too! There was a local writer presenting and selling her book that day so it was interesting to see they promote and help local writers. In relation to that, there was also a good section from local writers and Michigan history. I really enjoyed the experience and really liked how the people treated me. You can see the passion in their work and how much they want to help you find what you need. Lastly, I greatly appreciated how I was able to take my time without being followed. I know it sounds silly, but I take a long time to see everything and choose, which means I often get followed in stores by employees. I was able to browse everywhere and choose all the books I wanted. They also ordered a book that was not available. I am very satisfied with the experience and the purchase.

Wonderful bookstore and wonderful people there. So many cool books to look at, interesting signs and pictures and displays. Sadly the cat wasn’t there but all their perches and toys were. Highly recommend.

This is one of my favorite places in Kalamazoo. Great selection, cozy atmosphere, and friendly employees. Two separate buildings with multiple floors of both new and used books to browse. Keep an eye out for the days when Radio the Cat visits...makes an already fun trip to the book store even better.

Surprisingly I had never been here before. I came to pick up a package Ups dropped off and I stumbled upon a Toy Story book I knew my children would love. It was only $5! My children loved it and I plan on going back to get more books and the soy candles. The girls working were super friendly too.
