The folks who run the museum are incredible! They went out of their way to give our students at Midwest Truck Driving School a tour during the closed season and they opened up the attractions for our students to see! Everyone came back ranting and raving so much so that the office staff was jealous that they hadn't been able to see it for themselves! Totally amazing people and great display of local history! Thank you all who were involved!

What a neat museum, they have definitely put a ton of effort into the display, stories told, and tour given. Our tour guide was wonderful, knowledgeable, and happy to answer any questions. It was a good way to learn a lot more about the iron range and it's history.

The museum was amazing, full of lots of pictures and items. As well as a well sizes rock and minerals exhibit as well a art work inspired by mining. The tour was great as well and very well done.

Really do recommend this place, and take time to do the tour. Our tour guide actually worked in the mine when it was operational. Rebecca, one of the volunteers, noticed that my grandson is differently abled and she signed for him and gave him a private tour. Rebecca is amazing - thank you!

A wonderful view back in to the rich mining history of Michigans upper peninsula. The museum alone is worth the stop but for a modest fee a guided tour is offered that takes you inside the C shaft head frame and allows you to walk the grounds.

Tons of cool sights, history, artefacts and lovely people.

A great tour with lots of geology, mining and history ran by great volunteers.
The lady in the gift shop was very kind and welcoming.
Mark the tour guide was knowledgeable and great at responding to questions.
Dave the blacksmith was welcome to our large group while he worked his craft.
Dave the tour guide for the last 1/2 of the tour was amazing. As an old miner he knew a lot about old mine history as well as newer mining industries. He was awesome about sharing his 3rd generation miner heritage as well beaming with pride to being part of preserving the site for future generations

Great educational field trip back in time. And either before or after there is a TON of artifacts, articles and rocks to check out. All our kids thought it was interesting and they stayed engaged (ages 13, 11 and 10)

Our tour guide Mark was extremely knowledgeable about the history of the mine! He walked us through the day of employee at the mine from start to finish as well the tools used, mine construction, and so much more! Well worth the $15 for the tour. All the employees/volunteers were very friendly!!

This was a great experience. I love learning about and seeing industrial history. This sight offered a fascinating look at the history of mining both at this specific mine and in the area. Gary, the tour guide, was highly informative and really friendly. In fact, everyone at the museum was super friendly. Highly recommended.

This was a really great place to visit . I was able to visit the real life blacksmith on site and buy some of his work. Between that, the museum and the gift shop I was amazed. They offer tours but I could not make it through the mine.

Beautiful museum, good collection of rocks and the history of Iron mining in Ishpeming. The guided tour should have 6 stars, is given by people that worked at the mine!

Good displays and the guide knew the history from work experience. The mineral display and the "rock guy" in the shop were great.
