This camp ground is nice! The bathrooms are always cleaned the owners are wonderful understanding people. They always make sure the trash bins are empty, Trails are made when it snows!! The only issue is when it rains potholes are made lol but what do you expect when it's dirt roads an gravel other than that I would say this is the best camp ground for a long term / short term stay! Not sure on the rooms but I can't imagine them being dirty since the camp ground is well Maintenance. 10/10 with this place!!!

One of the best campgrounds I've ever been to. Lots of amenities. Hot showers, clean restrooms, water, electrical hookup. The beautiful river that flows through. The staff is also very friendly and helpful.

Camped in a tent for $20.

NOTE: cyclers, hikers, snowmobilers: this campground is directly across the road from the North Central State Trail. Easy on and off the trail!

Bathrooms and showers were okay, old but clean enough. We had to wait several minutes for hot water, but it came eventually.

Tent camping sites were all together in a mowed area separate from RV campground. Only us and one other tent camper. It was peaceful and a good night's sleep!

Camp host was friendly, kind, and laid back.

There are several options for places to eat in town. At least a couple look to be great dinner options. We ate at the BS&Co bar. Great burgers, fries and cheese curds!

Abate of Michigan had over 250 people at this campground. The owners were so hospitable excellent host. Always ready to help with anything we needed. Clean bathrooms, and hot showers. Electricity for all who needed it. Cool breezes every night, awesome trails, Sturgeon River access to wade or jump in. We saw people tubing too. Totally fun for all.

We love this campground! Our kids are never bored and we can go down the river over and over again. It's very quiet and peaceful. The owners are super accommodating and the bathroom is always clean. The 4th of July fireworks were awesome last year, so we are coming back again -- only this time staying LONGER!! Thank you!

Best firework display in 2021 I have ever seen. It was right above us and so big! Went on for darn near 3 hours! Unbelievable. The showers are great, and had hot water! Trails, river, playground, pond. So much to do. Owners are fantastic people. Not so strict. Will be coming èvery year after that display!

Great location, the sites are good size and very grassy. We loved the barn yard animals like ducks geese and goats. The prices are great and they even have cabins for rent too. The swimming pond gets deep quickly and the river flows pretty fast behind the campground- rent a tube and go for a float it is really fun too!

The sites are bigger than normal compared to other campgrounds and the shower pressure here is amazing...We had a great time...my kids didn't like the rooster crowing, but I loved it and it got them up and motivated...we will definitely be staying here again!! Thank you for and amazing experience for my kids and I...

I would go here again and again. The lady that owns and runs it is the nicest person you'll ever meet. There's numerous places to camp with a tent and the cabins are really cute. All camping sites and cabins are centrally located close to the bathrooms.
One of the guys that works and lives there gave us some of his wood for our fire.
The office sells groceries, wood..etc.
This place is pinecone heaven for me.
Beautiful place, didn't want to leave.

Fantastic off the beaten path place! Right on the river, right near trails. Not terribly far from the freeway.
Only water and electric hookup and 30amp service.
Perfect for what we needed. Great family owned place.

The best campground ever!! It's right between the Sturgeon Valley river (which you can float all the way into town) and a bunch of old trails that you can take so you can take your bikes or snowmobile down(winter).

Cute quite peaceful campground. Owners were very nice.
I had to go home back to (Holland) Toledo Ohio, and work Midway threw vacation. So my husband was at another campground which was planned half their and half here since we were trying something new. The owners were so nice to come pick him and my boys up half hour or longer away. It gave me peace of mind. Was so generous

The cabin blown the other campground out of the ball park. Clean and very comfortable beds quilts and beds were clean we had a larger group with kids and a few adults and it was enough space for all of us. 3beds, table chairs, mini fridge, AC, nice lighting in cabin, bed side table, curtain, and cute picture decor made it so cozy and comfortable.

It's a growing campground, newer, the kids loved swimming in the pond too cold for us adults lol. My boys enjoyed tubing down the river. The bunnies and other farm animals were very cool as well. Kids loved the barrel ride through campground.

Overall great place to get away from the city and enjoy nature.

Cudos to the owners down to earth and doing a great job l

Thanks for going above and beyond the Mercurio/baker family (from Holland/Perrysburg/Toledo, Ohio)

We love having a little weekend getaway here. The kids enjoy themselves thoroughly. Right off the river and they offer tubes at a reasonable price.. family owned and operated they live on the grounds.

Went there when the new owner took over. great facilities and good pricing. Would recommend. Also not a bad drive for tomahawk trails. Ps the trail ends about a mile from your campground is there a possiblity of a trail head near sturgeon valley?

Great campground Abate Event. So many big RV campers that I had to pitch my tent so far away from bathrooms and shower that it was an issue. But overall very nice

It’s always a great trip up here. My parents camp here each summer several times a summer, and my sisters and I bring the kids up a couple times each summer to stay. We always enjoy it.
