A true American experience! You will have to wait a little bit to be seated but usually less than 15 min. If you are in the South of Maine you have to pass through this really authentic diner. Plate are enormous and everything is delicious. Lobster-based sandwich are mouthwatering. Do not diet this day.

Just go once and try how is the real American cuisine.

I ordered the lobster Benedict as I am a tourist and I'm going to eat as much lobster as I can while I'm in Maine. And the lobster Benedict was delicious! Very happy with it. My son got the blueberry pancakes and they were yummy and my oldest got the steak and eggs and it was really great. The order came out fast. The portions are huge. So there's plenty of leftovers. I have to say that the staff was very friendly. The restaurant was almost completely packed but we were still able to get a table and I do appreciate how often the waitress checked on us even though she was super busy with other tables. I deffinitely recommend this diner. It's a good place to eat, lots of breakfast options and they serve breakfast all day but they have many many items on the menu that were non-breakfast as well.

Always busy, but never a very long wait to be seated. The staff is phenomenal; friendly and helpful. The eggs Benedict was delicious as were the other dishes my family had. Hot chocolate is so rich and creamy. A must have!

A very comfortable and personal experience, the opposite of a corporate chain. I asked for one drink, they didn’t have it and improvised and made something on the spot. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Food was made fast. Blueberry pancakes had the blueberry blended in, rather than hot berries throughout, which I was happy with. They also have beer on tap! A classic American diner. 🇺🇸

My husband and I love to visit diners when we go on road trips. We are from Missouri and it’s our first trip to Maine. This lovely spot was exactly what we were looking for. Everything inside is clean and efficient, the help is very friendly and knowledgeable. The onion rings, the chicken pot pie, the corn muffins, and the chicken, tuna, and egg salads were by far the best we have ever had. The prices were quite reasonable and the menu has an incredible number of options. And they serve breakfast all day. We would visit here again in a heartbeat.

Definitely an authentic Maine experience that is well worth regular visits. Breakfast selections available all day. Fried potatoes were freshly made, firm and tasty. Eggs came as ordered. Sea food sampler is a good value. Especially good scallops. The blueberry pie should not be missed. It’s made with authentic Maine blueberries; small and very tasty. Service was fast and everyone was friendly. Diners don’t get much better than this.

Stopped in for dinner on a whim while driving through Maine, and what a highlight. The food was fantastic and a great deal (the lobster pie is truly something else). But, our server, Deb, was what truly made our night! We will DEFINITELY be back soon!

Unbelievable dinner! Such great food and our server Cassie, (Casey?) Was amazing..

The blueberry pancakes are huge and cake like, topped with real maple syrup (extra $2) and it’s a decadent dish.

I got the Florence eggs Benedict with spinach. They are served separately in their own little dish so there English muffins are not mushy. There is a large helping of spinach serving as a breed to the poached eggs.

Long wait, but it was a Sunday and a holiday weekend.

My wife and I originally ate at The Maine Dinner for the first time in the fall of 2020. We were there right at the peak of the COVID-19 outdoor dining. Due to the restrictions, the seating was mostly outside, under a heater. It ended up being an unexpectedly wonderful dining experience.

When we found ourselves coming through Wells recently, we just had to return and give the diner another try now that the COVID-19 dining restrictions are no longer there. The Maine Dinner did not disappoint!

Our breakfast was fantastic. We both ordered the almond-encrusted French toast with real maple syrup. The French toast was out of this world.

The service was top-notch, attentive, and friendly even though the diner was very busy.

The Maine Dinner has the feel and flavors of what you would imagine with a classic dinner but adds a little extra something that makes it a can't-miss dining location.

Lunch at the diner with my wife. Grilled cheese with bacon, fries, ruben sandwich, and onion rings. Food was good and the service was fast. Good lunch!

Awesome place we will definitely be back. The seafood chowder is the best I've ever had the lobster roll and the lobster Mac and cheese was delicious. Our waitress Sandy was great. It was definitely worth the hour drive to get there. Came back for breakfast had the the big breakfast it was delicious.

Maine Diner has a nice covered ramp for wheelchair access. The food is good basic fair that is the hallmark of Americana dining. In the summer they offer food right from their own garden at the back of the restaurant.

Our personal favorites are the Red Flannel hash available only on Saturdays while it lasts, and the DownEast Benedict.

The service is superb! You won't find a better wait staff. When you combine great food and great wait staff, you have the ingredients of a top-notch restaurant. Therefore, the waits can be long during peak hours, and the restaurant can get noisy when it is full.

If you are a coffee connoisseur, you may find their offering just a bit common. For the rest of us it's, "Filler up please."

I had the lobster pie. I fully understand now why is it famous. Definitely deserves the line up and wait. Amazing corn bread and chowder. Truly spectacular. Amazing customer service too. Totally live up to the hype. I will go back.

Great hometown diner with tasty food and friendly servers. Ate here our first day of vacation and our last. The lobster roll and lobster pie were outstanding and the blueberry ice cream for dessert was a homerun. We actually went back just for the ice cream - even though it was really breakfast time (lol).

YES we are the ones who only came thanks to Diners, Drive-In's, and Dive's. NO I doubt we were the first. NO I don't have any regrets. DO I regret getting the highly recommended lobster grilled cheese for breakfast? NO. It was absolutely more amazing than it should be, such tender and lobster and lots of it, along with a very velvety light cheese and a perfectly grilled bread.

To top it off, very friendly service, cool diner vibes, and HUGE and equally delicious pancakes (buried under the toast/bacon/eggs in the photo).

The place was packed and we had to wait for about 15 minutes. They gave us a beeper to let us know when our table was ready.
I had the lobster omelette with home fries and rye toast. My wife had one blueberry pancake with an egg and sausage and bacon.
Breakfast was simply awesome!
The coffee was Hot and tasted great.
