Where to begin when reviewing a place as special as this? I guess I'll start with my reason for visiting on my latest trip. As the father of three, I have felt the need to instill an appreciation for music in them. We certainly have differences of opinion when it comes to music. I respect that everyone has different tastes, but in order to appreciate anyone's music that you can't hear live, you have to listen to that music on a stereo. A bluetooth speaker just will not, and cannot, give you the sound quality, both in depth and nuance, that a component system gives. To that end, I have collected a system for each of them and need to replace a turn table that was damaged in a move. They had a very nice vintage model, complete with box, that had been completely gone through, at a reasonable price, with a 30 day warranty....on a used item. It was very cool, and the owner was awesome to work with.

As to the store, it was great to see so much vinyl, along with every other media you would expect in a record store. The store is super clean, well lit, and well organized. New and used vinyl are priced fairly and easy to find. This isn't like stepping back in time as much as it is finding a new favorite place in the zoo.

One of our favorite record shops. We like to stop here about every other month, which is when we are usually in the area or passing through for some other reason. Between my daughter and myself we have never left here empty handed. The owner and staff are welcoming and always ready to help when we ask. It seems like every time we come in they have a new influx of records. Not just 8 or 20, but seemingly it nears the hundred mark that we will filter through to locate any treasures missing from our current collection.

They are also one of the few stores we frequent who offer a loyalty program when buying used vinyl, and their prices are already competitive if not better than other stores.

Green Light Music & Video is a fantastic spot! With a wide selection of music and movies, helpful staff, and support for local artists, it's a must-visit for anyone in the area or visiting.

Love perusing the new and used offerings at this friendly store. My old high school buddy and I have met here a couple of times in the past few months. He buys and sells vinyl while I’m the CD guy. Plenty of options at both ends of the price spectrum for our musical tastes and media preferences plus they have a rewards program so we’ll keep coming back.

Nice, organized, and wide selection of vinyl, CD’s, cassettes, posters, and more. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Will be back for sure. There’s also a beer/wine/liquor store right next door with a huge selection of Michigan beers and lots of bourbons.

Cool Vinyl Spot! Lots of Cool Stuff to check out! They don't have a public restroom though so make sure to go before you get there so you'll have time to look thru everything. Staff was knowledgeable and the store is definitely worth checking out! 😎

This is my new favorite store! I just recently started getting into vinyl and looking to build my library. I just recently got into ghost and was hoping they would have some of the records. They had nearly all of them!! I was so excited that I was able to get them without having to go to multiple places. The only one they didn’t have was “seven inches of satanic panic” but Liz was able to get it ordered for me and at an amazing price too! Can’t recommend this place enough!!! The staff is welcoming and just a great vibe shopping here!

Great selection of used and new vinyl. Appreciate the associates a lot (very attentive to the social message feeds); two recent visits they were nice to hold some very sought after releases for me. Excellent store to crate dig in for a couple hours.

Seems like every visit, they outdo themselves in some way, whether customer service, vinyl holds or supremo music suggestions. Came in here beginning of March, met Billy, who was helpful, engaging , and had some awesome music suggestions to round out my vinyl collection. His knowledge of a particular artist I’ve been keen on lately was excellent, and again, came through special ordering for me. True music store, with music enthusiasts at the helm. Highly recommend

My husband and I went to sell records here, but wound up engrossed for over an hour checking out old records. Nice vibe, great selection, knowledgeable and helpful employees. We had a great time reminiscing and wound up buying more records.

Great service! Good tunes and vibes all around. Went there for a launch of an EP and they had rolled out the metaphorical red carpet for it (giveaway, photo op, decor). It was great!

This is the best spot for records. The selection in the store is huge and also very diverse. Even those with extensive collections of there own would be able to come here and find plenty of things they haven’t seen anywhere else. I was putting together a gift for my husband and wanted to get records from concerts that we’ve been to together over the years. I found quite a few of them, but not all. I explained this to a friendly gentleman at the counter when I was checking out and he explained that they can order records to be shipped in to the store. He seemed genuinely excited when he found each one that I was looking for and I was able to get everything I wanted for less than it would’ve cost me to order them on Amazon. Great selection, great prices, and awesome customer service.

Amazing place! My husband and I were on vacation and are avid vinyl fans. The selection is great and the prices are amazing for the immaculate quality of the used options. The staff is FANTASTIC!! Very friendly fellows and even ordered something my husband has been on the hunt for awhile, even though we live in Colorado!! When I visit MI again, I will definitely going back!!

I have a fairly extensive vinyl collection, but I can always find something I want here. They are constantly refilling their new arrivals and the owner told me he doesn't hold stock for special sales like Record Store Day or list his stock online, which makes for a better in-store selection of used records any day of the week. This is the #1 record store in Kalamazoo and the only local record shop I go to.
