My husband and I stayed here for our wedding night. As a historian/archaeologist couple, we absolutely adored the original details in the house and in our room. The madrone wood details throughout were so neat and aligned with the original owners' cigar business, and the painted ceiling details in our room were stunning. Very clean spaces and the breakfasts were tasty!! The owners are lovely people and we hope to return again someday! :)

We greatly enjoyed our two-night stay in this meticulously restored, historic inn near downtown Kalamazoo, where we walked to a wonderful restaurant. The Kalamazoo House is owned and hosted by a great young couple, who communicate well with guests and even offer home-baked cookies in the evening before bed. They also prepare a nice breakfast, but we were unable to partake because we had to leave before the appointed hour of 9:00. Our innkeeper Amy made us a lovely bag breakfast to take on our way. Our bed and room, very historic in decor, were comfortable and charming. We are historic house buffs, so it was a delight to stay in such a well-preserved and historically significant Kalamazoo home.

Recently stayed at The Kalamazoo House while a visiting artist at the Kalamazoo Institute of Arts. Amy, Jeff, Lily, and Ashley were all wonderfully hospitable. Room #5 was very comfortable and clean, with a great jetted tub. Evening cookies and morning breakfasts were delicious. Very convenient to downtown and right next door to the KIA. Also beautifully restored--my husband was highly impressed by the woodworking throughout the house. Highly recommend!

If you're searching for an unforgettable stay in Kalamazoo, look no further than the Kalamazoo House Bed and Breakfast. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warmth and hospitality by the kind owners, whose dedication to their guests is truly remarkable.

The highlight of our stay? Undoubtedly, the breakfast. Each morning, we were treated to a culinary masterpiece, with one particular frittata standing out as the best I've ever had. The flavors were exquisite, and every bite was a delight. It's no wonder guests rave about the breakfast here! They even accommodated by lactose and nut allergies!!

As for the accommodations, the rooms are nothing short of lovely. From the charming decor to the incredibly comfortable bed, every detail has been carefully curated to ensure a relaxing and enjoyable stay. And let's not forget about the coffee – it was simply divine, the perfect way to start each morning.

Overall, our experience at the Kalamazoo House Bed and Breakfast was exceptional. With gracious hosts, delicious food, and cozy accommodations, it's the perfect choice for a memorable getaway. We can't wait to return!

The only thing that could have made this better is if they made me lunch and dinner :P :P! The food is amazing!!!

I spent a total of five nights here and can only report positive things. It's a beautiful old house with a long history. The rooms are cozy and comfortable, with a coffee machine and soft drinks available for guests to use freely in the hallway.

The owner couple is really friendly, and Amy, the wife, prepares a wonderful, freshly made breakfast from scratch every morning.

Whether you're going for a short break in the region or for a business trip, I would rather stay here than in a business hotel chain.

And even though the house is old, everything is in nice condition.

We just love The Kalamazoo House!
This was our second stay and we stayed for 3 nights. We had the master suite on the second floor and it was beautiful! The entire house is gorgeous and the historic touches in the woodwork and chandeliers is truly beautiful! Our room had a spa tub that was lovely the the towels were the softest ever! We also loved the giant bed, we slept like babies the entire time! Breakfast each morning was amazing and the extra fee to have it delivered to your room is worth it! Amy and Jeff are also amazing! They made us feel at home everyday and their customer service was stellar!
The location is also great if you want to check out the art institute, go downtown, to the library, and even the KP Cinema!
You might think that you want to stay at another Bed and Breakfast, but this is definitely the best one in Kalamazoo! We will be back again in March!

We had a lovely overnight at the Kalamazoo House when we came to town for a concert at the State Theatre. Amy was welcoming; our big, beautiful room was very comfortable, and breakfast was delicious. Because our visit coincided with Valentine's Day, my husband took advantage of the hosts' special offers of flowers and treats in our room and breakfast in bed the following morning. Delightful!

We found The Kalamazoo House while traveling for a conference last year and when we had the opportunity to visit Kalamazoo again this year, you know where we booked :) The rooms are beautiful, the building is nice and quite and filled with amenities, and the hosts are so gracious. I requested a vegan meal option and was greeted with vegan cookies upon arrival and a plant-based take away breakfast the next morning. So appreciate this accomodation and always feel special when I stay. Hoping to bring family back for a weekend getaway in the near future.

We loved this place! The history, architecture and overall feeling of the house were so intriguing and top-notch. Wherever your eyes rest, something beautifully restored and reclaimed is placed. Plaster walls. Ornate arched doors with millwork on every edge + handcrafted iron hinges. The ceilings are so tall throughout. On each level, every detail is neat and thoughtful. Nice bath. Remarkably comfy sheets, easy process for checking in and out. I loved the quiet beauty in the city. Looked out the window at night to see a huge Chihuly glass sculpture glowing brightly from the Art Institute next door! My son and husband loved a chess game in the parlor. It was a special stay and we will come back again.

Wow. Just wow. This B&B exceeded my expectations. We stayed in the Kalamazoo room— comfortable bed, spacious room, hot tub, and breakfast in bed. What makes this place different than the other B&Bs I’ve stayed at is the attention to detail— well kept/clean and the amenities are carefully thought out (scent pouch for the hot tub, local brands served whenever possible such as chocolates and maple syrup, and a sweet treat in the evening personalized for us).

My room was comfortable and cozy. The food was excellent and Amy and Jeff were super friendly and helpful. The house is the perfect location, close enough the downtown to walk but far enough out it stays pretty quiet.

History/Heritage of this house was super cool and a nice change to get away from Big Box hotels. Jeff and Amy were great hosts. Definitely will stay there again next time I am in the area.

My husband and I couldn’t have enjoyed our stay at Jeff and Amy’s beautiful bed and breakfast any more. We stayed in the Detroit room, and it was absolute perfection. As a lover of both historic homes, and upscale hotel stays, the Kalamazoo House checked all the boxes. The owners are warm and kind. It’s easy to see that they genuinely love what they do, and it’s shown in the way they run their lovely Inn. The breakfast was absolutely phenomenal. Amy’s culinary expertise is certainly noticed! After breakfast, I enjoyed some snuggles with Kallie, the most precious pup / Inn mascot! Before we left, Jeff was happy to give us recommendations on fun local places to visit. We came to town for a show at the State Theater, but we’ll be returning for another stay at The Kalamazoo House.

This was a perfect weekend trip. We loved the charm of the house, the details like coming in at night to an evening cookie, and the coffee/tea stations. We were able to park on arrival and then walk everywhere we needed to go for the rest of the weekend. The room was comfortable and clean. We enjoyed sitting in the parlor and playing chess over coffee at the end of the night. Both breakfast options that we had were delicious. We came to Kalamazoo with no idea what to expect, and left excited to make a return trip.

My husband and I spent the night for my birthday. Upon arrival, were greeted by Amy (owner/inkeeper). We took a little tour of the very beautifully appointed first floor and she told us a bit about the history of the house. Our room was on the third floor. Outside our door in the hall, there was a coffee/tea station which was a nice touch. There was also a fridge in that area with free soft drinks.
Inside, our room had a very comfortable king size bed and a huge bathroom with a jetted tub. The bath also had a cute little makeup area with a chair.
In the morning, we had a choice of a sweet dish(Apple crisp) or a savory dish( a bagel/egg option). Coffee/tea/juices were also provided.
Since we have family that lives within 20 minutes, it was a great location for us.
I would definitely recommend Kalamazoo House.

My husband and I recently stayed at the Kalamazoo House to attend their Clue Murder Mystery night. Amy and Jeff planned a fun evening that everyone enjoyed. The inn is gorgeous inside and out, maintaining many light fixtures, doors, and other furnishings original to the house. The Kalamazoo room is very spacious with a relaxing air jet tub and a nice view of the Chiluly piece displayed in the Kalamazoo Institute of Arts, right next door.
The Kalamazoo House is located within walking distance to museums, theaters, Bronson Park, and the historic Kalamazoo Mall in which many cute boutiques and other locally owned shops are located. Amy and Jeff are very hospitable and were very attentive to their guests. We hope to stay at the Kalamazoo House again.

My husband and I stayed one night as a little getaway for us. We were greeted by Jeff he gave us a short tour and told his all of the details we needed to know. The porch was so nice to sit and sip a glass of wine. We had room #7 the bed was super comfy. Breakfast was delivered to our room promptly at 9am very delicious. We did have one negative issue with the spa tub in the bathroom the owner did give a heart felt apology but I wish there was a different approach other than just an apology due to the nature of the issue, but there wasn’t. Overall friendly, nice, romantic and we would visit again hoping not to have the same issue.

I booked a room at the Kalamazoo House for my boyfriends 30th birthday and it was absolutely perfect! When we arrived, we were greeted by both Amy and Jeff! They were so friendly and kind! Jeff showed us the white board filled with all their favorite spots to eat, visit, and explore which was so helpful for us (and others) that are not from the area. Many of the places were within walking distance which was perfect!
I rented the Grand Rapids room and it was perfect! It was so clean and the jacuzzi in the room did not disappoint!
The breakast was top notch! We had the quiche and the pumpkin pancakes and they were both delicious! Thank you for a fabulous stay and we will definitely be back!

The Kalamazoo House is a beautiful B&B in the heart of bustling downtown Kalamazoo. Many eateries and attractions are a within short drive, if not a brief walk. The hosts are gracious and delightful. A most lovely stay for our anniversary!

This was the perfect little Halloween getaway! The house was GORGEOUS & decorated in all the Halloween splendor for my favorite holiday! This was my first time visiting Kalamazoo and the Kalamazoo House! Great location, the perfect hosts, and immaculate in every detail! I’m so happy that I stumbled across this whimsical setting!
My room was so cozy on the third floor and I absolutely loved it! The food was delicious and it was obvious that the owners put 110% into everything! I had the pleasure of speaking at length with them and they were so nice and personable! I wanted to get a shirt but there weren’t anymore in my size. The owners generously offered to send me one when they got it in stock & it was fast shipping! I will definitely be back next year for Halloween & every year after that! Thank you for such a wonderful experience!!
