We have been staying at the Stuart Avenue Inn for at least 15 years--whenever we go to Kalamazoo. We always adore it, but I'm prompted to write a review after attending a wedding that was hosted there last month. It was the loveliest wedding we've ever been to, and Innkeepers Chris and Dana were a big part of making it that way. Inside and out the place looked amazing, the rooms were clean and comfy, they served us a spread of delicious food, and Chris and Dana were cheerful and pleasant despite having to work very hard to host all those people and make everything come off without a hitch. It was beyond perfect. Stuart Avenue Inn is where beautiful memories are made!

Stayed here for a quick trip to Kalamazoo last week. First off, the kindness of Dana was amazing. She stayed up to make sure we were greeted when we arrived (even after 10pm). The grounds were kept and quaint. The rooms were so cute and the bed was comfortable. Her B&B is now going to be where we stay when we come back. I was so impressed and it was an amazing time. Oh, and I can't forget her delightful cooking. Amazing.

Best place to stay in Kalamazoo! We were in town celebrating my daughter‘s 21st birthday and there were 15 of us that stayed at the inn. We had a wonderful time, and the inn keepers are amazing. They made us feel at home and everything was set up upon our arrival for her birthday celebration, including decorations, plates and glasses. Later in the evening, we were able to use the great room to play games as a group. The rooms are clean, and very spacious, each with their own charm. The inn keepers are extremely friendly and very accommodating. The breakfasts are elegant and delicious and they go out of their way to accommodate my many food allergies. Over the past 3 years we have stayed at the inn many times since discovering it and each time has been amazing. I highly recommend the Stuart Avenue Inn Bed and Breakfast!

This was hands down the best experience of a two night stay we have ever had. From the moment we got to the Stuart Ave Inn the hosts were kind, accommodating, and helpful.

The rooms were large and very clean. The king size bed was comfortable and the overall appeal of the entire estate is just beautiful. We loved drinking coffee in the sitting room and if you are an animal lover you will really enjoy the house dog, Arlo. If you aren't, don't worry he seemed incredibly trained and well behaved.

Oh, the food was absolutely amazing both mornings. There were even slices of cake left out for us after a long night for when we got back!

We all had a great experience and stay.

Wonderful bed and breakfast in a late 1800 Victorian mansion. Dana and Chris the caretakers were very attentive and helped us figure out our engagement and activities in the area. Charcuterie board was the best I’ve ever had and even had a tamale, humus , guacamole and curry with some fancy cheese and meats. Had a piano downstairs and a lovely courtyard.

Breakfast was a sweet crepe, eggs, bacon and a savory crepe. Will likely return.

I could not recommend this place enough. Hosts are amazing. Super friendly and accommodating. The house is old but in great condition and really charming. The only "knock" is the small shower & toilet. But honestly the place was so great I'd take an even smaller bathroom to stay again. Great proximity to the bike trail, which is why we visited. Just stay here, you won't regret it.

We stayed in Alta's Room for just a night to get away from our own stress. The bed was so comfy. It had a coffee maker with filtered water. The best part was the breakfast. Dana makes the best crepes I've ever had, seriously. She gave us 2 kinds, savory and sweet. I loved both equally. We also had yummy bacon, eggs and clementine orange pieces. It felt so good to be treated so well. Dana and Chris talked with us all morning after breakfast. I can't wait to come back someday for another great stay.

We cannot say enough amazing things about this beautiful place and the warm and welcoming hosts who shared it with us. From the clean and comfy room to the delicious breakfasts to the convenience to downtown to the beautiful and historic decor, it was the perfect place to spend a weekend getaway. Pack your bathrobe and slippers, as the house was on the chilly side… however, we stayed toasty at night with a bnb provided space heater and the thick and cozy blankets. Highly recommend!

This place is absolutely amazing! My aunt and I stayed there for a night while we were down in kzoo for a concert, and I’m so glad we did. The house is absolutely beautiful and the rooms are charming and very comfortable. It’s close to everything, and Dana was so kind as to give us food recommendations and even tell us about places to shop when we asked! Arlo, the dog, is so sweet and I loved seeing him around the ground floor. The highlight of the stay for me, though, was absolutely the food. I have some dietary restrictions that often make it hard for me to find food I can eat safely when I’m traveling, but Dana went so far above and beyond and made sure that there were snacks and an amazing breakfast that I could eat. I would recommend this place to anyone hitting up Kzoo - it’s fantastic!

A great place to stay for a quick work trip. The internet was fast and the service was great. The rooms are well decorated and cozy. Parking is provided behind the building. The host was very accommodating. She cooked breakfast in the morning to my preference. Her blueberries coconut muffins were so good and she gave me extra for the road. This place is a gem.

We stayed at the inn for 3 nights and were extremely impressed. The location is great, and it is super close to K College. The rooms were well appointed, clean, and spacious. We were blown away by the service as well, the inn keepers were super friendly, accommodating, and helpful, and the dog (even as someone who doesn't like dogs too much) was great. We also really enjoyed the breakfasts which were all delicious and varied.

The Stuart Avenue Inn is a wonderful respite in the historic district within walking distance to downtown Kalamazoo. We stayed in two rooms on the top floor for my sister's wedding and we were amazed by the heartwarming touches, caring service, and delicious breakfasts. They even let us take a couple of pictures on the bride in their gorgeous garden (with permission)! It's a great choice if you're looking for a historic Bed and Breakfast in Kalamazoo.

I absolutely loved staying here! The inn is gorgeous and inviting with many gathering/sitting areas in the main downstairs. The hosts, Chris and Dana are very personable and accomodating and we had some nice chats with them both. They have a very sweet dog, Arlo. He greeted us when we arrived and when we came down for breakfast. They made delicious breakfast as well! The room was cozy and had some neat antiques and artwork. The only downfall for me was I found the bed a bit uncomfortable, but I find it hard to adjust to "strange" places that aren't home. The heat also has a slight whistle sound when it kicks on which was a little annoying, but odd sounds are expected for an old home. Otherwise very quiet. The room was a bit chilly (3 windows and facing an open corner, in the middle of December, what do you expect lol) with the drapes open, but not too bad when closed. They provide nice, warm and cozy blankets as well as a small heater to help keep warm (though I keep my own home on the cooler side so no problem for me). It's in a nice neighborhood, surrounded with other stately homes, easy and convenient to get to downtown and other spots around he area. I'm so very glad I chose this over a hotel and at only a slightly higher cost, with free breakfast (real food!) and free parking.

The couple that hosted us were super lovely and very funny. The breakfasts they had were really amazing and very filling. They even went out of their way to get halal chicken on such short notice for us. We are a big family and they accommodated all of us and they had really nice books in the rooms (like Politically Correct Fairytales) to read to pass the time. They have a very, very friendly dog that made the stay even better. The rooms itself were very, very well maintained, clean and modern. They even have coffee makers in the room and instructions on how to use it.

We stayed here for a nice little get away weekend! Super cute and clean rooms. Location is great, close enough to walk places. The breakfast is amazing! The food is homey and delicious but they also have a lot of fun creative recipes. One of my favorite parts was their dog Arlo. He is super calm and well behaved and is always there to greet you. We had a great trip!

This past weekend we stayed with Chris and Dana at their beautiful B & B, the Stuart Inn. It was a pleasure meeting both of them and they could not have been more hospitable. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We highly recommend this B & B. Hopefully, we will be able to return for another lovely weekend.

This is one of my favorite places to stay in the world. Dana the host is the sweetest lady ever and she is so passionate about the Inn! Her and her husband make the most wonderful breakfasts. The inn itself is charming and the decorations are so cohesive with aesthetic of the house. Our room was very comfortable, the WiFi is fast and the tv’s all work great! Easy to watch Netflix or Amazon. The best feeling is sitting in one of the living rooms on a rainy day and reading a book next to their cute dog Arlo. He is a very very good boy❤ if you find yourself in Kalamazoo stay here it will make you fall in love with the small town!
