The route from Braziel TH stop the Big Tree is not the shortest but it is the easiest. Be sure to allow enough time to get back out if you are making a day trip. There is no easily accessible water along the route so pack accordingly.

It was a great parking area our road was rough getting in the trails were good you just have to know the trail numbers because none of my mark walk 13 miles went down to the big tree and came back

Easy to find this trail head although it’ll take 30 min on gravel/dirt roads. The trail itself is well maintained, flat and easy to navigate and leads to the heart of the wilderness area. Map at the trailhead gives a good and clear image of the different hiking destinations.

I would warn anyone heading out here that there are no toilets here of any kind. You must be willing to “dig a hole”.
