Summer Thyme Café

We were celebrating Dad’s 90th birthday and had the main course catered in from Summer Thyme cafe. Chris and Steve came to set up the pot roast, potatoes, gravy and veggies. The meal was excellent!! Warm and tasty. We didn’t get desserts because we had a birthday cake. Thank you for making our celebration so nice.

My husband and I had lunch with coworkers here last week. It was our first time here, but our coworkers have been coming here for some time now. The atmosphere was great, all the staff we spoke with were so welcoming, and last but not least the food was amazing!!!! We will definitely be back, and have desert this time. 😉

Salads, sandwiches, staff--everything is great here! Their dinners are available after 4-the pot roast is SO good, as is the slightly-different-yet-really-tasty meatloaf! And their desserts are just awesome! If you're a fan of coconut cream pie and/or carrot cake, my favorites, you HAVE to try theirs, although everything I've tried over the years is just delicious ! Summer Thyme, sadly, might be closing at the end of October, and that would be a huge loss to our community, so I hope someone who wants to continue the traits of great food along with wonderful service steps up and buys this little gem!

I had the pot roast dinner tonight and was not disappointed, in fact, took half of it home. I was too full to have one of their delicious desserts but they were tempting. I substituted my veggie side for their homemade potato salad and brought it home for later as well (I love it). Homemade comfort food dinner specials as well as delicious soups, sandwiches and salads, will have you coming back. Locally owned with owner on site and putting out all this deliciousness daily !

This is a lovely hidden gem in Portage! First time here and we are already planning to return and try more items from the menu and of course some desserts!!

Been coming here for years. They're a great local place to go for soups, sandwiches, and desserts. Their lemon bars are out of this world.

Spinach salad was large and fresh. The chicken breast was freshly grilled and tender. My husband's turkey sandwich was large and tasty. Small, clean and we will definitely come again.

Hands down the best cafe in the county if not all of SW MI. An amazing menu with super fast turnaround. The absolute best selection of desserts. Affordable, wholesome, and friendly. Been coming here since I was a kid and it first opened. Glad my kids will grow up with it too. Thanks for all you do!

Sandwich was delicious. It was a few weeks ago but I believe I had a turkey sandwich. I figured out several bites in that the special taste was coming from the peppers. Unsweetened raspberry iced tea was good. Comfortable atmosphere.

It's so nice to meet with friends, enjoy good serve and wonderful food.

Yum! Great sandwiches and the best comfort food. I love the roast beef and potatoes (they're real) and the blue cheese salmon dinner. And the dessert case....oh my! The best pies and dessert bars! Coconut cream pie and the lemon bars are my favs. But they're all scrumptious!

Great place for a quick bite always a great meal

I used to come here as a kid and recently found out they’re closing went back got myself a grilled cheese for old times sake gonna miss this place great people and great atmosphere
