No one is prepared when the time comes that they need to make arrangements for their loved ones. My mom was in hospice in January, and I had to find a place where we could have her cremated per her wishes. I found out about Winford Funeral Homes from my aunt who got the referral from a colleague of hers. They handled the arrangements for her father. I can say that this was a very stress-free experience, considering the circumstances. Every step of the way, they were empathetic and wonderful and met all of our wishes. My liaison was John and he was amazing. Explained everything and presented it with true empathy. They were very transparent with their pricing. It was not an upsell for anything extra or ridiculously frivolous charges that are typical in most funeral home environments. I was also able to purchase my own urn. Many funeral homes that I know of from our family’s personal experience try to take advantage of people in a vulnerable state to get extra revenue during a time where family members and friends are overwhelmed with grief. Including when all services were already pre-paid. No, your loved one doesn’t need a “better” casket. How would they even discern the difference? They were extremely professional during every step, including when the funeral home came to pick up my mom from the hospice facility. They were very accommodating and kind. And they did a wonderful job with my mom. We are so grateful for John and all the folks at the SW Houston Winford Funeral Home location. Completely seamless experience. Highly recommend to everybody. You won’t go wrong. They are absolute professionals and wonderful people.

Winford was a Godsend. I can't say enough good things about this place.
The people that work here (Jessica, Brian, and pretty much everyone) are very compassionate, helpful, and respectful. The facilities are neat, clean, and quiet. They are honest and straightforward with you from the very beginning, they don't try and upsell you on things you don't need or want.
Other funeral homes we contacted were so sleazy, trying to take advantage of families in a time of need just to make a quick buck. Winford and the people there are exactly what you need to help navigate the process when dealing with the death of a loved one.

We had my father in-law's funeral last year (20202) and we had my father's funeral this year (2021) the employees at the funeral home are very caring, sympathetic and considerate. It is not about the money with them, they will go above and beyond to make you feel as comfortable as possible, they take the stress out of the whole funeral planning and do it all. They are very accommodating and their service is truly exceptional. It is a sad line of work but it makes it easier on families when you can trust the person you are dealing with and know they have feelings. Very clean, up to date and spacious place.

I had tried to pre plan for my in law's funeral for 2 years since she was 80 years old and she was on the last stage of her kidney failure.
I shopped around the market and the Winford has the best price . What I liked most was the Winford has already- made 3 packages you can choose with different price level. The other funeral homes gave me the miles of list of items I need to choose which the terms are not even familiar with, and the added cost was tens of thousands. We signed the contract in January and paid the deposit of $1000. When we had the funeral last week we paid the exact amount we we're given in January.
We used the cremation servce. The cremation facility is so beautiful. It is a glass chaple room. We had a such a holy and beautiful cremation service there.

We called several funeral homes and none made us feel at ease until we called Windford. We spoke with Maira first and then we met with Brian. Since day one they made sure to answer all our questions and doubts.We’re satisfied with the care of my brother to the services provided and on the financial part. My brothers last wish was to be home for Christmas and Windford transported our brother from Dallas to houston regardless of the weather ,for this we are very grateful from the bottom of our hearts we can’t thank you enough. I will definitely be recommending this Funeral Home .❤

Last week our family had hard decisions to make, and Winford Funeral Home was our home of choice after we interviewed several providers.

It’s impossible to communicate the impeccable level of service they provided. It was totally seamless. They had answers and information for every question. At a time when we were walking around with our heads in a fog, they led us through the process softly, carefully and with the utmost respect.

As for the costs, their prices were mostly compatible with other quotes but here was the difference. It included all the important extras the other homes wanted to charge big money for. Their competitors charged for every dinky stupid little thing at a time when it seemed so pointless having to haggle over them, such as our loved one was being cremated. While Winford allowed ALL the guests to file into the crematory room for the last goodbye, during the interviewing phase, I had to haggle with competitors to get even a small group of family to be able to attend the crematory ceremony, and speaking or final words wouldn’t be allowed plus they wanted $500 more for this. Why???? Not Winford! Everything we asked for was met with a smiling yes. This made everything that much easier.

Their representative, Brian never, ever made me feel rushed when I asked questions. Got me answers and responses right away. I never had to chase anyone to get needed info.

The facility is top notch in accommodations, overall look and the decor. The people were all extremely professional.

Other things to know: They create a webpage for your loved one on their site. It included pictures, a place for people to leave comments and sweet words, the ability for guests to plant a memorial tree in your loved one’s name (super affordable at $39.99 meant it was a great option for people wanted to “send flowers” but maybe can’t afford the $80-200 costs to do this) and included a link to a televised livestream for our of area guests to attend if they couldn’t come in person. The video of the completed ceremony becomes available on the link shortly after the ceremony.

All in all, I felt so cared for but most importantly, I felt my loved one was cared for EXACTLY as I wanted him to be on his last journey.

I vote 10/10 stars for Winford Funeral Home, and recommend them with my highest commendation.

There are no words to describe the feeling of a lost one. Winford Funeral Home-NW is absolutely amazing. They were compassionate and provided undivided attention. We went back several times to make changes to our request. With no questions asked they made the changes and continued to provide us with support. They are professional and sincere. They didnt come across to us as if we were a business opportunity. They allowed us to follow our religious beliefs. Thank you for your support.

Brian Lee helped us at this location with my mother's funeral services. The funeral home that my mom's church originally recommended were fully booked so this was the next recommendation. I'm glad that the original funeral home was fully booked as the entire process at Winford was a pleasant one despite the circumstances. I 100% whole heartedly recommend this funeral home.

This funeral home was one that we passed all the time since it has been built and when our dad passed away since it was so close to his home we figured this would be the best option. I had no idea what exactly we had to do for the funeral because it was the first time a death had occurred For us. So when I went to take a tour Brian the director greeted me and explained every single bit to me. Every question I had he answered it didn’t seem like he was hiding anything it didn’t seem like anything was fishy everything seemed legit. In Situations like this you don’t want to think about anything else except your love one and that is the part that I loved about this funeral home they take care of everything you just have to think about your love one.When the time came he was available 24/7 still answering all my questions! When they picked him up they didn’t take him anywhere else except to that facility he was never moved from the facility and I think to me that was very big because he wasn’t roaming around from mortuary to the facility then back to a mortuary to a church and then a crematory... everything was done there. They have a chapel for you they have an extra room for your family to sit in if they don’t want to be in the chapel they have a kitchen area and you don’t think about any of that stuff when the time comes but while the viewing was going on and it’s all day that you have to be there you need that stuff available to you. Another thing that Really impressed me was that the viewing is from 9-9 . That helped so much because there were family memebers that couldn’t make it in the morning but could in the evening and vise versa. I made a video full of pictures and they plugged it in their equipment along with a Spotify list of all his favorite songs and they played it in the chapel! We were allowed to bring in a mariachi group for his farewell!

From all the funeral homes that we called they offer sooo much more . Yes a lot of them maybe cheaper but charge you extra for certificates , they only allow certain hours, no extra rooms and the move your family memeber around because they don’t have everything in one facility , etc. Which at the end you end up paying the same!

The staff was so amazing in every step of the way!the facility was clean as can be & Brian the director was very helpful throughout this as well! And there were no extra charges!
