French's Shoes & Boots

I feel like family and am always taken care of by everyone. The manager is the best and I love hanging out and just talking with him. Every time I stop by I love cutting up and laughing with him and him and his employees know there stuff down to a T. If you don't know what you want ask them what they recommend and I promise you that you'll never be disappointed. This place is family and my go to for anything footwear.

I was greeted as soon as I walked in, and helped out immediately. The lady was knowledgeable, and quite helpful with locating the boots I wanted. I will definitely return

Went to look for square toe boots and was really impressed with the great selection of products. I looked at several pairs of Justin boots and tried on a few pairs. I ended up getting a great pair of Durango boots with the Tennessee flag tri-star on them. I really like them a lot and they fit great. The employees were very helpful and extremely nice! I highly recommend this store for all your footware needs. I will be back! Thank you!

Unfortunately, I did not find anything in my cowboy boot size that I really liked. They have nice boots but not what I was looking for. Mom did find a pair she liked. She bought them. I will go back when I need to get a new pair of work boots, though!

I've bought the majority of my boots here since the late 70s - early 80s when they were in the old location on Hwy 70. They were one of the few, and at times the only shoe store in town where certain top of the line hiking boots could be found. Although today the selection of specialty work boots has dwindled somewhat, for years they've been the only store in town where certain types of boots could be found (welding/ironworker, Fireman, etc). They also have some Carhartt and similar clothing; bibs, jackets, etc. While it's not my thing, they do have have some nice looking cowboy accessories as well. Apparently they're under different ownership or management now but, they're very friendly and helpful without being annoying and, as I was fortunate to find out myself, they are HONEST!! I don't mind paying just a few dollars more in certain cases to do business with a local brick and mortar where I can get quality merchandise and personal service without the aggravation of shipping back what doesn't fit. If you need shoes or boots, check them out 1st.

Great selection and even greater staff! The staff knew I would be buying a pair of Hoffman boots from a different seller, rather than them (because they don't stock Hoffman's) and still made their best effort for making sure I knew the perfect size to order them in! I highly recommend this place if only for the staff's knowledge!

I purchased a pair of hiking boots from here but I accidentally received a mix match pair with a right foot size 8 and a left foot size 8.5. I purchased the shoes and two days later my husband and I moved from Cookeville to Cleveland, TN. I never wore the shoes since they were for my job that I started a month later so I didn’t noticed the different sizes until about a month after the purchase. I called the store and explained what happened and they said to come on in even after the 30 days past the purchase date and that they would take care of everything. They ended up ordering a new pair straight from keen’s which were mailed to the store in Cookeville and they forwarded the shoes to my new home in Cleveland all for free with no hassle. They even left me a personalized note with my new shoes saying if I needed anything else they would happily help me or fix whatever I needed. Needless to say customer care was above and beyond!! I never write reviews but I had to write about this place and my experience!! 10/10 recommend for all your shoe needs.

I have to say this was definitely a high point to my trip to Tennessee. We stop in there about every time we're down that way, but this time we hit the jackpot they had so many amazing sales I could hardly believe it, I think I bought shoes for everybody in the family LOL. Got some great deals and spent less than $100. I definitely highly recommend this to anyone who's visiting the area. Very helpful courteous knowledgeable and just overall friendly staff and owner. I will never visit Cookeville Tennessee again without stopping by there.

Really helpful. Sale's lady was great didn't force shoes on me answer my questions show interest in what I wanted to buy not what they wanted to sale. Great shoe store wish I would have found them sooner. Bought 3 pair of shoe's and will be buying my next shoes's there.

They have a wide selection. The employees were very helpful! They didn't have my size in the boots I wanted but they did order them for me

I called the store for information on some comfortable footwear for truck driving and the salesman was patient as I explained what my needs were, I arrived at the store to see a wonderful staff of smiling faces and the shoes ready to go.

My wife has small feet, we drove all over Nashville. The stores we looked at either didn't have the style she wanted or none in her size. So we went shopping in cookeville (which we live near) bingo! They had it and for way less than the other stores. The ladies there were very friendly and helpful!
