Bear Necessities Cabin

The cabin was clean and the beds were comfortable. There were mountain views from every window. The hot tub was perfect and the wood-burning fireplace was relaxing. The towns of Dillsboro and Sylva are close by and have dining options, but I quickly learned once I got to Bear Necessities, I did not want to leave. There is a nice gas grill by the fire pit and the kitchen is well stocked with an amazing view. Communication with both Smoky Mountain Getaways and the owners of the cabin was professional and pleasant. Watch the weather forecast - navigating the (well-maintained) road to the cabin is tricky where there is snow on the ground. I would love to stay here again. It's perfect for couples or for a friends' getaway. Beautiful cabin - thanks to providing such a special place to stay, play and relax.

What a wonderful cabin in the mountains. The nearest neighbor is through the woods about 100-200 yards away so basically when you're here it truly feels like you're all alone in a cabin in the woods. The views are breathtaking overlooking mountains. We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay.

My High School Sweet Heart and I( from 1999) took a Mini Vacation to this Cabin and not only was the view spectacular but so was the company! So blessed to of visited such an awesome home in the Smokey Mountains with the one I love most ! Highly recommend this home for your next get away in North Carolina.

We had an AMAZING stay here. The views are beautiful, as is the cabin! No problems what so ever. Make sure you sit in the hot tub under the stars :)

Loved the cabin itself. Very difficult to get to.

We stayed here in the summer and the view was spectacular! However, in the afternoon the cabin gets HOT!! There are no shades over the western-side windows and there is only one AC unit. Therefore, upstairs is very hot and uncomfortable. You need to remember to lower the AC in the early afternoon and hope for a summer shower to cool down the cabin. Otherwise, we enjoyed ourselves and relaxed very well. 🙂❤. Update the water pressure is weak, or low, very often in this house. While the toilet is refilling, dishwasher is running, washing machine is running, someone is in the shower. It's annoying and tiring after several days of experiencing low water pressure.

To be fair the view was awesome 5 stars, however the house keeper was horrible. They had cookware that was dirty. My son got a fork out and it still had food on it from the people that stayed before us and my son in law had to scrub The pans just to cook breakfast.The hot tub smelled like musk. Most definitely need to hire different cleaning service since they charge a $95 cleaning fee.
