Jolly Roger Inn & Pier

Great place to stay great rates. Staff are very friendly and laid back. I do have to give a big shout out to all of them because they went out of their way to get me my wallet back. They are honest and kind respect thank you for going above and beyond

This is my Happy Place. Lots of recent upgrades. New floors, picture windows and mattresses. Best beach views bar none. Leave balcony door open and sleep with sound of surf.

I love the Jolly Roger Inn! Private beach access and the staff is great. The ocean front room are the best, watch the sunshine in the mornings!

Great place to stay. The pier was very welcoming and the fisherman gave me a good lay of the land. It's not fancy, but if you are good with that, it's great.

Pier open 24hrs, Sells food, tackle, beer, bait, and has a very friendly staff. The motel is severely dated, but I'm there to fish, not to hang out inside a motel room. If you are looking for some type of beautiful resort, go somewhere else. If you are looking for a good pier to fish, and just a roof over your head to sleep at night; perfect. I give it five stars because it reasonably priced and fills every need for me.

Came to visit family for a couple of days and decided to stay here. The rooms were adequate comfortable the bathroom was clean and the well equipped but the best part was the view of the ocean from the balcony you can't beat a great view of the sea. If you are in topsail beach and want a classic motel please stay at the jolly Rogor

We have no complaints! We knew it wasn't fancy but we didn't need fancy. Room was clean and suited us just fine. We had clean beds, TV, mini fridge, plenty of towels and it was quiet even though it looked like the hotel was booked. We don't normally spend too much time in our room anyway because we are AT THE BEACH!!😁. The hotel office is at the pier and everyone the was really nice and helpful! We rented our poles from the pier shop and caught a few fish. It was great to be able to step out of the hotel and take a walk right to the pier. Very convenient!

We only went to the pier, and it was a little unnerving. You can see the ocean through the boards almost all the way down, and there were some boards that felt like they needed to be replaced. Beautiful views, though, and the plenty of room to fish.

Headed down for our 2nd trip of the year... We have been coming to the Jolly Roger for years.

Prepare for a great view of paradise.
Bring cash for the food truck over at Lewis. Their burgers are epic and within walking distance.
Godwins across the street has essentials in a pinch.
Come for the peace and quiet, you won't be disappointed.

We had a beautiful
view of the ocean from our balcony . The room was spotless. Smelled fresh and clean. All the appliances worked great.the staff were all so kind and helpful.
The pier was fantastic and close to our room. I have stayed here many times and have never been disappointed. Perfect little fishing village.
I recommend them highly.

Customer Service was #1. Rooms were clean, comfortable beds. Loved the balcony with an oceanfront view. Quiet setting. Convenient walk to the pier. I would stay again.

I booked here at 5pm the same day I needed it - on a Friday - after another spot down the island had promised non smoking rooms and when I walked in, it had clearly been smoked in. I’m super allergic, and they kindly refunded me. When I called here, Dallas was super kind and assured me he had a room that was not only non smoking but had the most beautiful view. It isn’t super fancy but who comes to Topsail for super fancy? Its comfortable & clean - all you need if you’re in this beautiful place. This was cheaper than my original option and oceanfront. I won’t stay anywhere else. Thank you, Dallas!

Always a great, unique experience every time. Perfect getaway and especially for those who are serious about fishing or just love the water and sand.

Not a bad price. Most rooms have been recently renovated or updated. No frills but there is something delightful with simplicity and depending on your phone carrier, a poor signal will offer a great excuse to get a break from most things digital.

If you expect more, there may be places that will offer more amenities for a price such as WI-FI or tons of cable channels.
For me, I do not find time to turn the television on and would prefer to fish for hours!

No grill for now (since COVID) but hopeful that they will find a way to open it again.

Came to the pier just to walk out and take a look. It is $2 per person for spectating and they have plenty of drinks and t-shirts to buy. There is NO beach access at this pier and parking is for pier and Inn customers only.

Would definitely stay here again. Good prices and really cheap! Adorable rooms with cute decorations. Has microwave, coffee maker, great ac, mini fridge. Everything was clean! Beds were comfortable. Wish they put four pillows on the king bed instead of three but that isn’t a issue at all. Pillows were comfy and sheets were nice and comfortable as well. The bathroom was clean with plenty of towels. The staff are very friendly and have great personalities! Pier was gorgeous and well taken care of

The kids and I enjoyed taking a walk on the pier. The pier was well kept and you could see where they've added new boards. There was a place to clean fish and saw a bucket with scraps in it. At the end was a huge container of water with blue fish in it with a sign that said "For king fishing only". The staff was very nice.

I love this place. Simple accommodations. Small kitchenette, queen bed, couch, TV, microwave. Great views. Fishing from the pier was excellent. The vibe is friendly. Not crowded. There was a small frying pan, pot and some utensils. Small plates and some coffee cups. Extra sheets and blankets in dresser drawers. Of course there was sand everywhere. The couch was a little dated but served our purpose as we were out most of the time. We always had clean towels and new toilet paper and trash bags hanging on our door(to reduce contact) every day. The only downfall was there was no dust pan. It is a little dated here but they are doing some remodeling. Will come back again. It's very peaceful and not as loud and busy as some beaches I've been to. I can not say enough about the views.

Nice pier for fishing and/or spectating. The high banisters are a bit of a struggle for us shortys, but manageable. Restrooms are usually clean. Prices aren't too bad. Food is good. Shop has a decent variety of gear and drinks. Beach area is kept clean, good spot to swim and sun during a break from fishing. Motel is dated and a bit pricey but is nice enough for an older fishing spot. Love that all the rooms are ocean front.

We were in town for 24 hours, so my son could have his surgery done at the military base, up the road.
The procedure took longer than anticipated, this required us needing to extend our stay by a few hours.
Checkout was at 10:00 a.m., and the room was reserved for another guest that day, so the morel's staff was on a very tight timeline.
With that being said, due to our circumstances, motel graciously extended our checkout time, with no hassle. I'm completely aware of the complications this posed for them, and I'm extremely grateful.
This is the level of service that I have known from this establishment for nearly 40 years.
