Misty View Cabin

We enjoyed Misty View Cabin very much during our week stay. Views are magnificent and the owner-manager is very responsive and always willing to help. It was so peaceful and beautiful! We felt like we were on a movie set. Looking forward to spending our vacation there for years to come.

My wife and two children rented Misty View Cabin to enjoy the Smoky Mountains and the chance to sky at the nearby Cataloochee Ski Resort. We had an amazing time, the log cabin is secluded and yet close to Waynesville downtown, great restaurants and shopping. The views of the mountains from the front porch are beyond believe. The cabin is well kept, clean and supplied with everything you need. Jorge the manager is always available, responding fast, helping with any question, and providing suggestions for places to visit and restaurants to dine at. We can't wait to come back!!

I want to preface this with the following: We never ended up staying at this cabin.

This review is regarding Jorge, the manager. If he could receive less than 0 stars, that is what he would deserve. An abominable man of service in my opinion. I would strongly urge against staying here if you need to deal with Jorge.

We had an agreement to stay at this cabin through Jorge. He sent us a contract for a specified price and specified time of stay. We only needed the cabin for 6 nights, rather than 7 nights, which we thought we were clear initially based on the dates we sent him via email and text. He wrote the initial contract for 7 nights, so we inquired about the edit. When we messaged him to make the edit, he did so, but kept the original price for 7 nights. When we queried about this fact, he became defensive and rather rude on the phone. We tried to explain the difference and he blamed us for taking too long to sign the contract. We ended the conversation that when he got to work the following morning, he would make the final edits to the contract and send us the edits. We even offered to pay the correct amount prior to receiving the final contract but he told us to wait, and would send us the contract in the morning. We told him that we would sign it as soon as possible, but evidently this did not suffice. When we messaged him the following morning for an update on the new contract, he texted us that he was sorry, but that the cabin was booked for that time.

Certainly, we were taken aback by this behavior. I subsequently tried to call him for a better explanation, but as expected his cowardice over came him and he would not answer my calls.

I am sure this cabin is as lovely as pictured, but unfortunately I sincerely doubt the manager could be trusted based on his above behavior. Jorge, if you choose to finally reach back out I would happily take your phone call. I would appreciate speaking with you. I hope that this is a one off, and that no other guests have been treated in this manner. Good luck in the future.
