My husband and I love coming here in the morning for breakfast! I love all of their foods, but my favorite is the parfait. The fruit is so fresh and yummy. The granola is made there and delicious! I highly recommend going here. Later in the day, it can get busy, so be prepared to wait a little. Also, my husband loves the campfire hot chocolate!

Black water bakery is a hidden gem! We visited for breakfast this morning and had an amazing meal! Every dish was flavorful, fresh, and fast service! We tried the Benedict, steak and egg burrito, waffles and even grabbed a few pastries for the road! Chloe was an awesome and attentive server and even overheard a quick latte flavor change which made our experience superb! Highly recommend this bakery for dine in or carry out! We will be back!!

Very charming cafe with friendly staff! I’m vegetarian and had a delicious lunch. They have an extensive selection of sweets, it was so hard to choose which one to get! The cinnamon roll was good :)

My husband kept raving about this place and now I know why.
Service was great. We got breakfast there around 8:30am on a weekday so it wasn't busy.
Staff was friendly and professional.
The food was amazing! CHEDDAR GRITS!!! The best I've ever had.

Adorable bakery and coffee house right across from the Harriett Tubman mural and Museum. We were looking for brunch before heading out of town from a weekend getaway. The concierge at Hyatt Regency recommended them and there couldn't have been a better choice. Great coffee options, great menu of breakfast and lunch items. We chose the crab omelet with a side of hash browns and a blueberry pancake with a side of bacon. The fresh bakery items were also amazing and I took a couple of items home. Our server Kane was friendly and knowledgeable and attentive.

Everything was amazing and so was the service. We tried the chorizo tacos, breakfast burrito, and the plain sammie. The kids breakfast trio was huge. Bonus were the Tesla chargers on the side of the restaurant.

The ice coffee nitro brew can be made with coffee ice cubes! Wow! They had the best vegan chocolate cake I have ever tasted! The apple dumplings were delicious! Crab omelette was so tasty as well! Avocado toast was delicious! What a great find in this cute little town.

Wonderful food and atmosphere. We got there an hour before closing, and got rushed at the end. But overall, very nice, and we'd go back for sure

Jamie is a great owner. She created a great team of all star servers. Black Water bakery and breakfast is delightfully decorated. Real flowers at the table. I am so pleased and just had to share. Thank you! Ps. Go Wildcat’s!

I have nothing bad to say. The food was very good and they had reasonable prices. I got a cold brew and I was blown away that they used coffee ice cubes by default. The home fries were very well seasoned and I had the breakfast burrito which was super yummy. Overall great experience and I would come back tomorrow 🤣

Cute little find. You can tell it’s a town favorite by the locals popping in. Great menu! Wish a lot of the meat items would be optional on the side. Very few veggie options but what they had was tasty. Loved the server Jill!

Let me tell you about a place with great vibes, great food and great people. The shop is immaculately clean, artfully decorated, and has a mouth-watering variety of foods for everyone, vegan or carnivore. The staff are courteous, patient, kind, and attentive. My husband and I had a great time here, and I know you will too ❤

Had a pretty good Acai bowl here and got some apple pie, and pumpkin bread to go. Both breads were phenomenal.

Nov 2023 Update: sat down for a great breakfast, and the pancakes, eggs, bacon, scrapple, and home fries were all delicious.

Delicious food carefully prepared on the premises for breakfast and now lunch. My romaine salad was topped with generous slices of blackened chicken breast, avocado, tomatoes and red onion, and a side of yummy homemade honey mustard dressing. My companions ate every mortal of their fall panini and turkey club. Excellent coffee menu. Delightful, helpful staff. I'd give this fives across the board but the wait was a bit long.

Ever since I discovered this place, I go every chance I get. I have recommended it to many! My friends from Centreville drove down yesterday for a quick bite,.arrived at two and were turned away with no explanation other tham they weren't serving food, along with another couple. Hours state until 3, and I had told them I heard kitchen closed at 2:30. They unfortunately will not try again. 😔 I will be back, I just hope you post hours that make sense to those of us who commute for your wonderful food!

Had a great breakfast this morning! I had the country style biscuits and gravy and my wife had the quiche Lorraine. We also got some peanut butter cookies and an almond and cheese danish to take on our walk through Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge which is nearby. Both of those were amazing in fact the cookie was probably the best I’ve ever had!

Blackwater bakery is absolutely incredible. I ordered an amaretto latte (holy smokes!) and grabbed a peanut butter cookie for my daughter. The staff was charming. The food was delicious. I can’t wait to return!

Amazing food and great atmosphere! Very nice aesthetic. I also work at Women Supporting Women and we had a fundraiser to have holiday treats donated for an auction. Black Water Bakery donated this Death by Chocolate cake and it was absolutely delicious and super chocolaty.

Checked out this place for breakfast while we were vacationing in Cambridge. Their name is not a reference to any nearby body of water. It's a colloquial reference to the stuff served in a mug (duh). The place is super charming. I love the mix of seating options. Cute strands of lights hang from the ceiling that clearly would be even more charming once the sun goes down. You could tell from the patrons that were already seated that this is a cozy local haunt. They do have an on-site bakery and an eclectic menu of freshly prepared items. Note that this does mean you might be waiting a bit for your food. But you can kill the time enjoying their coffee and conversations with whomever you're with. It's a relaxed kind of place so if you're in a rush, don't be a buzz kill and just move on. Interesting variations on breakfast choices including avocado toast, steak and eggs, crab omelettes (natch) with a side of rough chopped potato hash, and western omelettes served with a side of arugula salad. All delicious and not overly seasoned. The neighborhood kind of seems a bit sketchy (eg the beat up alley way parking lot next to it) but the place is like a small hip oasis. One amateur interior design suggestion in case you're reading this Black Water - faux brick walls (or real ones!) and you'd be right at home in Brooklyn.
