My son will be 3 years old tomorrow, and has been seeing Nurse Practitioner Sarah (although we call her Dr. Sarah because she is so knowledgeable) since he was one week old. He was a a month premature, but you would never know it now at 39 inches tall and 39 pounds! We love Macclenny Pediatrics, I would not even consider taking my son elsewhere. NP Sarah has been 100% accurate in all her diagnoses and advice. Anytime I’m concerned, I pick up the phone and the staff works us right in the same day. All of the staff members treat my son like he is the most important thing in the world, even though I know they have many other patients to attend to. I have never waited longer than 20 minutes to be seen, and they never brush off my concerns or belittle me no matter how silly they may seem (my son is my first child, so you know I was calling all the time during the first year about the smallest stuff). We just went this last week for a wellness check, and when I told my son we were going to see Dr. Sarah, he actually got excited. And considering he was watching PJ Masks at the time, that should tell you all you need to know right there lol! So if you’re on the fence about who should be overseeing your child’s medical care, look no further - Macclenny Pediatrics is the only way to go! Thank you for always being there for our family, we love you guys!!

Yes they are nice, nurse practitioner Sarah is awesome,she is nice listens to u and all your concerns she is amazing.however my issue is with opening time , Hours clearly say opens at 8am but, seems like every time I call at 8am they r not available their phone lines r never on at 8am ever, I have to wait 15 minutes or up to an hour to talk to someone in the office ,someone answers but then says they r in a meeting they won't be available till 9am well then why say u r open if u r not .website says 8am then u need to be available at 8am not 8:15am not 9am .other than this i like this pediatrician office ...

Do not take your children here. I’m a first time mom, and I took my son here for his 48 hour check up since being home from the hospital. First, they have no documents ready and we were 20 minutes early. We were the first appointment at 8:30am and still waited until after 9am to get into a room. When we got in the first room, they didn’t even have anything set up or new paper laid out where I needed to put him down. The nurse seemed like she didn’t know what she was doing and kept forgetting what she needed to enter in the computer. Every room is dirty with grime all on the walls and equipment. I gave them the benefit of the doubt because we really liked the nurse practitioner Sarah. She was very kind and professional.

We took him back a few days later when nervous about his eye. They never called in the prescription. We called to check in about it and not only did they forget what we were talking about halfway through the conversation, all they said was ‘you’ll get a call back shortly.’ It’s been over a week - no call back and the pharmacy doesn’t have it. Imagine if it was anything more serious, we still would not have the medication my son needs. After this second poor encounter, I made his 2 week check up with Carithers in Riverside but had originally scheduled it here. We never cancelled or showed up, and they never called to check in or question anything about no showing to his 2 week check up. Needless to say, in most aspects, it did not feel like a cleanly, caring, or professional environment. I would not take anyone I care about here, especially a newborn. We tried to use them since it is the closest place to our house, but it was an easy decision to make the hour drive to Jacksonville instead when it comes to the health of our son since they don’t make any effort to care for his needs. Very unfortunate experiences especially for a pediatrics office.

Called and scheduled a 930am appt at 1020am was still waiting. The front office staff is extremely rude. I don’t know if it’s because they are the only pediatric office in town but need retraining on etiquette and interaction. They charger 45$ if you cancel less than 24hrs from appt but they can’t see you with and hr of your scheduled appt. I am not a SAHM I have a job I can’t spend 2hrs at the drs for my kids 5min appt. Terrible experience and not my first.

3-4 years ago it was brought to my attention I had a bill that was 2 years old for $35, I couldn't pay all of it & the VERY RUDE lady at the front desk stated if it wasn't paid in full my child couldn't be seen after I offered to pay $5. When the billing department as she called it said it was ok as long as I paid something it made her so mad that without my knowledge she called the dr & the insurance company & had me banned from the practice. I have since had another child, who I might add is medically needy & on a respiratory machine 24/7 & I have even established care there. After the second appointment called me after I got home to ask me what the names of my other children were, when I gave them to her she said we have a problem, due to your behavior 3-4 years ago, you've been banned from our office, I know you have a very sick baby but you need to find a different place to go. So you banned me because we had a disagreement 3-4 yrs ago because I couldn't pay my bill in full, & you waited until I had the insurance changed over, & established services. Sarah Canaday is an awesome dr, but it is obvious she needs compassionate, customer oriented employees.

Wonder if they have ever heard of Covid??? Sign on the door says you cannot enter without a mask, you must call from your car. Great, they are for sure handling this. Until you go in and no one on staff is wearing a mask!! Are you kidding me? They are dealing with sick children as well as newborns. No shields, no mask, no partitions, nothing. They are touching the kids to do blood pressure, etc. with no care or concern for the public’s health. There is another sign in office that says if you use foul language you will be barred from their practice. I have never seen this in any medical office I have ever been in. THE ladies in reception are the rudest and most arrogant people I have ever come into contact with. I can imagine they have caused many to use foul language. They overcharged me and I had to file a complaint against them with my insurance company to get my overpayment back. Hateful ladies who consider themselves over and in control of everyone in this practice. Just glance at the office when you pass by and see how filthy it looks. I would much rather drive further to an office where you are greeted with a friendly welcome. Dr. Sara is fantastic if you can get past the reception. Make sure you bow down to them or your five minute appointment will turn into two hours. They are the ones that determine when it is “your turn”.

I took my son here for 3 years and they never got him the help he needed I was treated like a child because I am a young mother the younger nurse that was there had horrible experience with children I was told there was nothing wrong with my son I finally switched him to angel kids pediatrics and our first visit the doctor told me my son was autistic and needed therapy they did everything he needed in one visit what this doctor WOULDN'T do in 3 years

Excellent health care, if you can make it to the back to see a doctor. However, the front office staff makes it so difficult and the the whole experience so unenjoyable that you end up just wanting to take your kid somewhere else.

The staff was friendly enough but if you have private insurance, look elsewhere. They dont do vaccines for non medicare patients anymore, they send you to the health dept (good luck getting an appointment evidently, the lady I spoke with at the health dept was ultra rude when I called).
