Inova Schar Heart and Vascular

Doctors , Nurses and staff were excellent during my 21 day hospitalization !!! My one and only complaint was with the person responsible for my release, she had no idea how to arrange for transportation back to my home which was 4 hours away. She would not let my local medical transport company bring me home. Instead it cost thousands more for the one she set me up with. Hopefully they have fired her.

My father went into cardiac arrest at work on Saturday February 23, 2019 and was rushed by medics to Mt. Vernon hospital via ambulance. He was then transferred to Fairfax Hospital where they immediately performed a heart cath and determined no blockages. He was placed on a ventilator and put into a medically induced coma. This is where the team began their life saving efforts for my father. Over the course of the next 48 hours they cooled his body temperature to help him recover and slowly warmed him back up to wake up from sedation. We were informed that brain damage was a great possibility and a lot of unknowns heading into him waking back up, if at all. My father woke up 12 hours into the warming process and very little brain function loss, if any at all! Today my father is walking around the wing and alive and well. I would like to thank the team at Fairfax for ALL of their efforts to make sure my father is alive and will go home to live the life we still have left to live with him. Special shout out to Davis, his nurse who truly exemplifies what bedside manner should be. He was so courteous and informative while he was on his shifts. We cannot thank David enough! Thank you all from the bottom of my heart as I can now take my father to the Pirates game in Pittsburgh this summer that we have always talked about with his childhood friends for a reunion.

The facility itself & it's services is outstanding ; however, it requieres a lot of walking and the signage can be confusing. There is limited valet parking during the week, and paid parking in the nearby garage, but again, a long walk to the facility.

A great place for quality care for all your healthcare needs from diagnosis to treatment to recovery and rehabilitation if needed.

Relative had surgery here. Top care from nurses, PAs, specialists. Plus- great food service, healthy options. These people care.

Ambience is great, staff is cooperative, outcome of patients and attitude of physicians and staff isvery positive!

No fun to be in the CCU anywhere, but if you have to be there. Thank God we are close to INOVA Fairfax!
