I’m Absolutely Ecstatic and Love our Beautiful New Master Bathroom Remodel! The quality craftsmanship in each perfectly placed tile speaks for itself. Thank you Jay & Joe for your insight on helping me bring my vision to fruition.

Jay installed laminate through the 2nd story of my row home. The floors look amazing. He had smart solutions for some tricky old Philadelphia house quirks and installed a beautiful floor in one day and as originally scheduled. Huge improvement to my house, fair price, good quality work, not pushy. I would highly recommend.

Called Jay to have my bathroom flooring redone. He was very flexible with his hours to accommodate my work schedule. I had something picked out already that I had seen from another store and Jay was able to show me a cheaper similar version to help save me money. (Even though he could have just ordered me the more expensive flooring). The flooring arrived and he was able to get me in the same week. He replaced the flooring and installed my new vanity for me. I will definitely be using them again.

Hilgert Flooring just finished installed a new floor in my kitchen, incredible carpet in my living room and durable carpet in my sunroom. Jay went above and beyond to work around my schedule and finished the 3 rooms of different flooring in a very short time(less than a day). He made my house look new again and I have gotten nothing but compliments. I will be using him again in the near future for my next property.

Hilgert flooring has done everything over the years for me including a tile shower, 2 entire houses of carpet, tile kitchen floor and backsplash as well as tile bathroom floors. Every time I have a project Jay is the guy to call. I've always been happy with the finished product and will continue using Hilgert Flooring in the future

I suggest looking elsewhere. Jay (Hilgert) was unprofessional, unknowledgable of the materials being installed, unreliable and performed a lot of shoddy work. If he gives you a price that you can't refuse, I would strongly suggest negotiating his upfront down payment requirements (he requires 1/2 the total estimate to book his time). If he refuses, pass and look for someone else. Any contractor worth your time will not require this much upfront unless it is for material costs that they cannot cover. We provided 95% of all the materials. The list of why I give Jay a 1 star is long, but I'll try. Our front yard was consistently littered with cigarette butts that were not being cleaned up. Jay used some of MY tools which to me is a huge no if you are a contractor, especially without asking. He did not have the materials required for the start of the project, even though we paid more than double what he needed for them three weeks in advance of the project start date (these were items you could pick up from Home Depot). Jay suggested installing floating lvp floor under kitchen cabinets (a huge no-no) so that it would "look nice". Did not maintain proper clearances for the floating floor against walls (1/4"). Never covered the new flooring even though we requested he do it on 3 separate occasions. He was walking on it while doing tile work in the next room (I eventually got fed up and covered it myself with contractor's paper and cardboard). Does not use a mechanical stretcher for carpet which is pretty much a must if you want it to look good for any significant amount of time. Ran heated flooring lines way too close together (1.5" in some spots) in our bathroom. Had a plumber he contracted for the shower exchange the internals of our shower valve instead of removing it and installing the new one (gotta save that $). Mitering on the baseboards was terrible. In one instance the baseboard was too long for the wall. Instead of trimming it he rammed it into the corner until the drywall gave way enough for it to fit. He also did not nail to any studs. I believe he was shooting for the bottom plate of the wall and hoping for the best with the nails along the top. He hit maybe one or two studs on the entire second floor, beside the obvious ones next to doors. Did not leave proper clearances for baseboard registers in two rooms (18"). Tile work was a joke. I fired Jay halfway through tiling the shower. He could not keep his grout lines straight or level, complaining it was the tile we had selected. I had to hire somebody to finish and fix what he did, using the EXACT same tile and the grout lines look fantastic. It's been weeks since we fired him and we're still finding issues.
