Amazing little deli and coffee shop by the NCR trail. We stopped by here after riding 10 miles from WhiteHall. We ordered BLT, and special ham and cheese both were so delicious. Bonus order Oatmeal and Date cookie. Also, I had PSL here, and oh my gosh, the best one I ever had. I would for sure bike here again! Staff were super friendly and attentive. Highly recommend this place if you ever find yourself biking the NCR trail.

The cheesesteak was more tasty than most. I substituted provolone for American cheese. My lunch partner had a Kenny’s Choice sub and it was excellent as well. The staff was friendly. I’ll definitely add this place to my usual lunch haunts.

Edit: The cream of mushroom soup is quite outstanding too.

Tried this place for the first time Sunday and we were so impressed. These were some of the freshest sandwiches we have had! The meat, cheese, veggies and bread were so fresh! Meat and cheese seem like Excellent quality deli meat (I'm picky about deli meat!). Nice portion size. They were out of shrimp salad which i will be back to try!! Employees were very friendly. Not a huge menu but very good quality simple sandwiches :)

Great homemade food! Just had their Maryland crab soup. Nice seasonings, lots of veggies and crab meat. If you are nearby or on the NCR trail stop in and check it out

Just yesterday, NFRC catered my daughter's graduation party. I had to immediately write a review to tell everyone how pleased I was with the experience. They were easy to work with, explained their recipes and gave me tastes of items they had. Pick-up was seamless. The food was popular among my guests. Their deli meats were better and had more flavor than what I find at the local grocery stores. The lemon basil chicken salad was gone in a heartbeat. The ham salad was reminiscent of past generations in a way the local grocery can't make. Thinking I'd try more local businesses this time around, I now believe I'll be a regular. No more depending on supermarkets! Thank you New Freedom Roasting Company!

Exquisite double espresso in a small town just north of the Mason-Dixon line. We were doing the rail trial from Cockeysville, Md. to York, Pa and bemoaned the loss of the Rail Trail Cafe in New Freedom. Then we found this place, just across the train tracks next to the bike shop. The coffee is roasted on-site and the women who made our espressos know what they're doing. The coffee here is as good as any I've had in New York, Philadelphia or DC. We stopped for an energy boost at the halfway mark of our bike ride both ways. They also have delicious baked goods. We tried the peanut butter cookie, which was perfect - not too sweet. The food looked delicious too but we did not sample. Next time!

I very much enjoy stopping here to grab a sandwich on my way to somewhere. Great food, great people.

Great atmosphere with wonderful people. Went hear following a bike ride, highly recommend the cheesesteak. One of the best hidden food spots in southern York county.

We visited on a Saturday afternoon and the staff was incredibly personable and kind. The food here was delicious! I got the Kenny’s sandwich (cold cuts with hots) and my wife got the chicken salad and both were the best that we had in a while. They also sell their own desserts and products from local vendors. I do wish they had a better outdoor space but the fact that they had one was a huge plus. Will definitely be visiting again.

I’ve been coming to the YHR Trail for years, and after my run today I was starved and Googled sub shops, not realizing this place was a stones throw from the trail. A nice little place you’d expect in a quiet small town, and the sub I got was amazing. I got the Italian and asked for it loaded with everything. It came loaded with everything. The sub itself looked fantastic and you could tell that a lot of care and attention was taken in preparation. All the flavors popped out individually and the bread was very soft. I’m actually heading back in now to get some of the cookies I couldn’t resist. Frankly, I’m concerned I found this place because I’ll gain all the calories back after my runs from now on. Highly recommend. Support local!

Fantastic breakfast sandwiches. Fantastic deli. Fantastic coffee. Fantastic people. What's not to like?

I haven't met Kenny yet, but Carol and Danielle are super nice, helpful with questions about their products, and genuinely down to earth people! I have already gone several times for their amazing coffee, and have decided that the Hobo brand is my favorite. If you're looking for a smooth, low acidic coffee, with a hint of cocoa, this is a great selection. My next favorite is their smoked cheese and the healthy granola cookies, made by Kenny. They also have great deli sandwiches that are very fresh. I will definitely be a frequent customer!

I am new to the area so I’ve only been twice so far- but I’ll definitely be back many times in the future. They have a great selection of local goods, great coffee and their breakfast sandwiches are huge and delicious! The owners are sweet and happy to help. A great, local spot worth checking out!

Small Town perfection. They roast coffee here, they smoke cheese here, and they make the best breakfast sandwich I had in a long time. The owners were kind, they gave amazing suggestions for good eats and have pack their restaurant with things that are delicious. This gem is as good as it gets. Will go back often. Please, please put this on the top of your list!!

Really great variety. We bought amazing Kettle corn popcorn, spicy pickles, crab dip, desserts and 2 freshly made sandwiches on their flat top grill. The owner is amazing. Lots of local made things which is expensive but 100% worth the money you pay for the products! Will be recommending by word of mouth how great this place is!

Great find! My wife and I were looking for lunch while biking on the nearby rail trail. So glad we found this place. Sandwiches were super with really tasty dressing. Wow Pastrami in central Pennsylvania, who would have known! I'm from Jersey so the only thing I'd say was missing was a good bagel to put it on! We also picked up some desserts for later that day - the little homemade (I assume) pie dishes are delicious.

Just what we needed locally! Convenient and high quality foods and drinks. The best place to go if you need something quickly. The hobo blend coffee is my favorite and The Skirted Soldier teas are amazing!

Carol, Kenny and Danielle also support local farmers and businesses when others prefer large food distribution companies. It’s wonderful to go in and see the names of small businesses from New Freedom and Glen Rock, PA.
