Northwest Passage Campground

One of our most favorite Idaho campgrounds. We've been coming here for years - 1st come 1st serve. Bring a pen and a check! It would be wonderful if the park service had a way to offer discounts and/or priority for native Idahoans... just a thought with the pop influx.

Incredible place to chill out and kayaking; fishing in the river for bass and northern pike-minnow; fishing for rainbow trout in the lake and pond. From Northwest Passage Campground takes 30 min paddle kayaks to the lake on 3 m/hr speed and back to the campground little longer about 40-45 min. I will definitely go there again.

Our go to campground when we need to get away from the city. Quiet, beautiful forest and lots of wildlife.

Campground was in great shape, the water is cold but crystal clear, has a wonderful large sandy beach right off the river. 2017

My favorite place for a quick get away. You can drop right into the river for a paddle. If you are out early morning or around dusk you'll be treated to lots of wildlife. I have seen deer, moose, golden eagles, osprey, herons, beaver, otter, and all kinds of fish and birds. Motorized boats not allowed on the river but there is lake access at North Beach right up the road.

This place is one of the best campgrounds in Idaho! It has a nice river next to it that goes over to Payette lake! And it has very tall trees and pretty mountains!
