I visit here every year, but this time I think I'm staying for a week on the coldest day when the weather is the worst. I did Dispersed camping right next to the lake, and I was afraid that the trailer was shaken by the strong wind I saw for the first time in the world, so I moved to the hook up site and camped for 3 days again. I've spent a dream-like time in a place where no one was around. I highly recommend this place.

So serene and calm. I did my 30 minute compulsory meditation here. You can ski in this beautiful lake.

We were in a tough situation and by the grace of God stumbled upon Topaz Lake Recreation Area. We got to meet the park ranger Jonathan and his coworker Dennis. They are very friendly, gracious, and hard working. We highly recommend visiting the recreation area! It’s clean, well kept with very nice campsites. We would definitely come back! Oh, the office crew is up there too!

In the Douglas County CG there's options from hook ups to wild camping directly on the beach. $40 for H-Ups, $30 water only, $20 wild. There's a credit card pay station or reserve on-line with an extra $5 reservation fee. Very pretty and quiet in late September...except for the howling coyotes. Bug level almost zero.

I mean how could you not give this a 5! It’s nature and it’s beautiful! It was the winter so there was snow on the roads, drive slow folks! But it’s a must see! 💙❄☃ 🎶

Clean, family and dog friendly! It was a beautiful day, the bathrooms were maintained, pay by card entrance is nice too. I do suggest using a Barber Surf Rake to remove all the annoying rocks and branches from the beach though. And bring in new sand to top it off after. Would make sun bathing way more enjoyable.

The Topaz Lake Recreation Area is along the Noetheast side of the lake and offers some amazing views of the Eastern side of the Sierra Nevada mountains. In the winter the lake is magical and if cold enough will be partially frozen over. On a clear day the snowcapped mountains behind the lake make for an amazing setting. During the warmer months there are camping spots available here just a few hundred feet from the waters edge, as well as a boat launch. Worth a visit for a day trip or camping trip.

Gorgeous views. Ultra clean restrooms. Machine makes it easy to pay for campsite. Don't go beyond boat ramp looking for tent sites. Almost got stuck in lake outlet.

This is the Nevada side of Topaz lake we stayed at the California side in a RV park. Wanted to check out the Nevada side for next time. Clean and inviting. I will add the sign posting pricing. Looking forward to staying there one day.

Really nice primitive camping right on the lake shore. Showers at the main campground, no quarters required!

We stopped by in early March. The place looks like a great area for a camping trip. There are bathrooms on site, and individual sites with for rings and a table. Perfect for a van or smaller RV.

Nice rv campground. Short walk to lake. Hot this time of year and winds kick up in afternoon. Hookups are water and electricity but there is a dump station. Trout jumping early in morning before wind kicks. Lots of watercraft, seedoos, water skiing, but plenty of water for both fishing boats, kayaks and them.Topaz casino just up the road. Cafe open, and slots on.

Water and electric hook-ups at our site. Site bathrooms were clean and in great condition. Even better, there was a small shared area of shade and picnic tables where kids from around the camp played games. The boat launch was in good condition despite the low lake level.

Overall, it was a good time with calm, friendly campers and great amenities.

Very good place to stay. Except on the weekends. When all the Drunks and Young adults start doing drugs and alcohol. Playing their music until 3 or 4 in the morning. I love music do not get me wrong. Just like to sleep once in awhile. After say 10 or 11 o'clock at night.
Now, weekdays are mostly peaceful and the animals that come to visit are fantastic to watch. The two owls that hung out on my coach at night is something I will never forget. The migrant birds coming and going is worth the entire visit. So much going on here when people aren't around.

Pretty lake and popular with boating enthusiasts. The full hookup (not sewer) sites don't have any shade but the non-hookup ones have trees.
