Best Western Premier Hotel Del Mar

This place had everything I look for: it was quiet, comfortable, friendly, close to the beach, and near interesting non-chain restaurants, all at an affordable price. It’s not fancy, which suits me perfectly. One pleasant surprise was the daily maid service, which surpasses the service offered by hotels costing twice as much. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.

Of all surprises, they have daily maid service, which right there exceeds the service of hotels twice the price. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay again.

This hotel was amazing and everything we were looking for!! Del Mar is such a beautiful town and this hotel is in the perfect spot. We had a beach view and it was gorgeous. The staff was more than accommodating. The rooms were super clean - and I am veryyyy picky. We walked downtown every day, it’s so convenient! We loved everything about this place and can’t wait to go back! We have already talked about trying to reserve the same room for our next trip because we loved it so much.

Our favorite location and service. They are the friendliest hotel staff on a consistent basis over the years. We absolutely love them. The rooms are aging but they were putting in new carpet and the maintenance guys were so very kind and walked us around since the hallway was closed and I have a fear of elevators. Hopefully rooms get a fresh upgrade but we love everything about the place and Del Mar has some of the kindest people that make you feel welcomed

Older place but nice. Does have a train go by on the beach but it was kinda a Plus to the ambience of the room, we stayed in with the balcony facing the coastline

My only criticism is noise. I am probably a bit sensitive to slamming doors and noise coming through the walls. I might suggest a note on the inside of each door stating something along the lines of "as a courtesy to other guests, please be mindful of slamming doors. I am sure their is a fire code that does not allow the doors to close slowly and quietly and you shouldn't have to remind people to be courteous but slamming doors was my biggest complaint. I might also just want to get earplugs or recommend it to other guests.

What an amazing hotel in Del Mar. An absolute gem 💎. Great rooms, quiet, the staff is attentive, almost too attentive in their getting in my way when I am leaving, 😉 But overall, very quiet, reasonably priced and steps away from the beach, the Del Mar Heights neighborhood and has a pool, breakfast and a wonderful staff. It also has dinner and a little cafe. Thank you for being wonderful to me as always. I stayed again this week heading back to San Diego after my trip to Paso Robles and my shows in LA. Went to the Tom Brady Roast and Seth Rogan at the Hollywood Bowl. Stayed at the Best Western on PCH in Dana Point and I do love your brand!

I was in town for a seminar and I stayed three nights. The room was incredibly clean! The housekeeping staff are all friendly and pleasant. All the front desk staff are also lovely. A special thank you to Kat, (I am actually posting this review on her birthday, so happy birthday Kat!) Kat, thank you for being so helpful, you are wonderful!!

This hotel is right near downtown DelMar close to ocean short drive to racetrack . The staff is exceptional. The hotel rooms are spotless and very comfortable. A private balcony to sit out and see ocean or pool area . Love this place .

This hotel and our stay here were awesome!! The manager, Tim, that checked us in was super friendly and accommodating, and our entire stay was great. We were on a road trip throughout Southern California, so we needed to do laundry.. That was super easy and convenient here. The room and bathroom were in great condition and pretty spacious. Lastly, location was super convenient - a lot of really cool shops and food joints within walking distance, and of course being close to the beach was lovely, too! No complaints whatsoever!

My wife and I have been here for 3 nights with 1 to go and I couldn't wait any longer to write a review. Just a fantastic place to stay. We are here for Mother's Day and our 35th wedding anniversary and I can't say enough good things.

1. Staff: Incredible. From the front lobby staff to the ancillary cleaning staff, everyone has been super friendly. The real standout for us though was the Cafe staff. Everyone there is so nice and friendly and the food was GREAT.
2. Room: The room is wonderful, comfortable, modern with a great view of the Pacific from bed!
3. Price: For what you get the price is very fair at least we thought so especially for a Holiday.
4. Hotel: The grounds are gorgeous. It's a smaller hotel with a really fun dog park next door. We enjoy sitting on the balcony watching the dogs play listening to the ocean surf. Also, Del Mar downtown is a 5 min walk and is super cute and clean.

Great location! The area is very walkable and close to a lovely strip of restaurants and shops. It’s a bit of a walk to get to the beach but if you drive you’d be there in minutes. Free parking, great pool and hot tub, and a cute cafe if you want to eat on the property. The staff were all really friendly and helpful and our rooms were super clean! Great stay overall.

This was a wonderful hotel/stay. It's a beautiful place that is very well kept and maintained. The staff was amazing; friendly, helpful, and accommodating. The parking was no problem, and they don't charge for parking like most hotels do nowadays. The room was very clean, as was the whole hotel. The view from my third-floor room was amazing! I love the little kitchenette and the fact they actually have a Keurig machine! The newly remodeled bathroom was beautiful and very spacious. The on-site cafe was a nice touch. Love the fact you can get made to order food. The pool and jacuzzi were very nice as well. Very clean and such a lovely location for them. I'm thrilled I found this gem of a hotel. I will definitely be back next time I'm in San Diego in the fall.

Had a wonderful stay here and loved the quiet and beautiful location. Walking distance to some great food and an amazing view and access to the water. Hotel is nothing fancy or new but was perfect for our stay - comfortable and clean establishment and friendly staff.

Upgraded us automatically to beach side view. And it was not disappointing. Only thing is they said the pool is heated, well it certainly did not feel it. They hot tub is a great way to unwind at the end of a beach day.

I really enjoyed staying at this hotel. The staff is amazing, super helpful and always warm with smiles. I had top floor king/ pool. The room was really clean, bed comfortable. There was a nice refrigerator/ microwave area. I could make a light breakfast in morning. The bathroom was really nice. Balcony had nice view of pool. LOCATION close to town, could walk. Beach walk or drive. I will be back for sure! Thank you!

For a one night romantic getaway, this is The Spot. World Class Customer Service and the entire facility from check-in to our room to the outdoor Café and pool seating areas were so well cleaned and maintained.

Even though we arrived just after 12 noon, a full 3½ hours before check-in, we were allowed to park our car in the rear parking lot and given a courtesy key to use the café restroom and enjoy the pool area and jacuzzi while waiting for our room to be ready.

Because of the excellent location of the Hotel, we were able to take a long leisurely stroll down to the scenic overlooks, and through the local neighborhoods and parks, eventually returning along the main drag, and checking out the plethora of amazing restaurants and shoppes.

After a nice rest in our room and refreshing ourselves we again took advantage of the location to walk down to a local Mexican restaurant for dinner and drinks, and enjoyed the sunset from the Little Orphan Alley, adjacent to the hotel.

All in all, it was worth every penny to get away from the mundane, rest, relax and be treated to such wonderful world-class Service.

I think we'll be back again at some point, soon.

I had SUCH an awesome experience, at the Best Western Premier Hotel Del Mar. I had just finished moving and resolving some big family issues, in the process of doing so. My body, mind and spirit were all exhausted. This place was truly a heaven-sent haven, which helped me to replenish. Not only was my room - Room 300, for the record - beautiful, clean and welcoming but the staff members were all lovely. Oh, and the bed was so comfortable that I got a good night’s sleep, for the first time in days. Wow: What an inviting oasis this is! I feel happy, thinking that I have stumbled on gold here. The ocean view was second to none (depicted here), and the hot tub was delicious. In fact, it was SO delicious that I got a little too relaxed. LOL Before jumping in, I took off my engagement ring and a bracelet; I put them down, right next to the sauna. I was thinking that I did the right thing, since I didn’t want any chemicals in the water to tarnish my valued jewelry. Gosh, I was so mellowed out after my time there that I forgot to retrieve my jewelry. (!!!) I got up to my room and after a shower, I realized that my arm and hand felt a bit…bare. Oh, no! Long story short, I promptly called down to the front desk - and sans any shaming or blaming - the attentive staff members quickly took care of it, found my jewelry and kindly returned it to me. Woa, what a relief! So, a big shoutout goes out to: Brooke, Justice, Yohan and Tim (who welcomed me when I checked in), for saving the day. And, again, they did it in such a respectful, caring and gentle way. Much Gratitude and Love….and I hope to visit again from NYC ASAP! : ) -Kat

Nice Best Western hotel, good place to stay overall. Huge shower, clean rooms, very accommodating Mgr r& staff. No free breakfast but has small restaurant on site. Parking is free. Great location to explore Del Mar beaches and many restaurants. If you chose the ocean view rooms ask for the top floor for nicer sunset views. It has a nice pool too. Look forward to returning.
