I requested, on-line, a private tour for eight of us several weeks before we went to McCall. I got an email reminder the day before our appt.

Walt gave us an excellent tour, including lots of interesting history of the area and the historical site. The Fire Warden’s House, both outside and inside, is amazing. The house, on the National Register of Historic Places, was beautifully built, filled with authentic pieces, and walking through it took us back in time (1937).

A visit, especially with a guide so you can fully appreciate the history and workmanship of the buildings, is highly recommended . We each gave a donation to help with the volunteers’ ongoing work.

Wasn't open at all during the week we were in McCall. No hours posted that made any sense, just a note on one building letting visitors know they were closing early for the 2017 season, and the note was dated over a year ago (It's August 2018 now).

I'm incredibly disappointed. My dad and I came back on three different days hoping to catch the place open and we couldn't. We walked around and looked at what we could from the outside. The grounds are really neat, and the focus of the museum on local logging and fire fighting efforts is pretty unique as well.

I sincerely hope they get things worked out and that we can come back another time and visit when they have it open.
