This was a not - so hidden gem! We went to view the Gun Totem and realized pretty quickly that Memorial Park is the main attraction. What was supposed to be a 5 minute stop turned in to hours walking around, sitting on the benches, people watching, and really appreciating the sacrifices the men and women in the armed forces made for our country. I was drawn to the Holocaust Survivors memorial and admired how much thought was put in to it. I would recommend setting aside some time to spend with each memorial. I counted at least 5 different memorials but there could have been more that I did not see during my afternoon there.

Nice park with many memorials. There are memorials for World War I, World War II, Korean War and the Holocaust.
The park is also lovely for just enjoying a relaxed time outdoors. It's along the river with nice views. There are plenty benches in the park and also lots of shade.

Relaxing and soothing place. The park has so many trees that even in bright summer days, the place stays pleasant. Take a walk in the park and explore the world war memorial. Also, beautiful walk alongside Providence River. Had a great time with friends and there’s a good restaurant nearby the park as well.

One of my favorite parks to visit during the day and night! It's a nice relaxing walk along the Providence river with plenty of benches to sit down. I especially love when there's a Waterfire! The ambience is absolutely breathtaking when the fires are going and there's music throughout.

Very beautiful and relaxing park right on the water. They have fire water events on occasions which is a wonderful event with the fire pillars being lit and music and entertainment. It’s an amazing experience if you’re lucky enough to catch it

This is such a beautiful park to walk through if you take your time and read the meaning of each monument. The war memorials in particular. The names of those who served from Providence are either cut into every brick surrounding the monument while other are cut into the surrounding walls.
The sculpture with all the guns rolled into it is what made me go there while visiting my son. I enjoyed looking at all the different hand guns and wondering what this person was thinking. I love it. A must see when you're in Providence and in the park.
There's a lot of places to sit and some ares are warm and sunny while others are in the shade.
The marble floor area is one of my favorite ever to go places. It speaks a lot sitting there at the work and the people being remembered - heroes!

We went to Waterfire this past weekend and were blown away. The statues Memorial Park were very impressive. They were from Ten31 Productions in Pawtucket, RI. They had a witch, gargoyle(really a raven) and an evil queen carrying an apple. All were very stoic, but the Wicked Witch was the one that got all the kids into the Halloween spirit. She motioned her wand in such a villainous way. They should make that actress a staple at all Halloween events! The way the light hit her face, it was awesome.

Also there were good trucks outside the park- specifically Spanglish (and another truck). The food at Spanglish was tremendous- the empanadas were amazing especially the Little Havana.

A beautiful park on the riverfront in Providence with a plethora of memorials. While it is relatively small, there are a ton of monuments and art instillations packed in here. The centerpiece is the huge column honoring those who served in World War I that can be seen from many blocks away. While it hasn’t happened for some time, this is one of my favorite spots to catch WaterFire, but any day is a great day to visit this lovely park in the heart of Providence.

Memorial Park, or Crescent Park as it is also known, is wonderful year-round but particularly in the summer. They have live free concerts in the summer evenings in front of the outdoor Amphitheater. It is a great place to take a walk, have a picnic, walk your dog on a leash, or watch the fireworks. The park is on a hill and overlooks the East Bay so the sun rises and sunsets are spectacular.

Beautiful area. Holocaust monument was somber yet graceful with clear stones you can place in memory of those lost.

Wood burning fires in the canal were a gorgeous site with different peaceful musical styles playing for all

A friend brought us down from Brockton to experience Waterfire and a nice dining experience. Beautiful weather and a comforting warmth from the fire. Lot's of vendors and music to enjoy as you stroll along the canal.
