Please read all: I started going to Melissa when my provider left, as my mom referred her to me. I felt as though she was annoyed by my emotions that were triggered by severe, persistent pain. She made it seem as though I was overly emotional about the situation, even though I had been in constant pain for weeks. She also treated me like a drug seeker, shying away from prescribing pain relief, even though I have no history of drug abuse, and clearly needed something, I could barely walk.

What really made me upset were the notes she left on my chart; They were extremely insensitive, and some were on the rude side. In addition, good chunks of the info she had about my day to day life was inaccurate. She put that I smoke cigarettes, and I don't. She also liked using the term "she denies", as in "she denies there's physical abuse". There is no physical abuse at all in my home, nor did I indicate that.

After a couple appointments, I just stopped seeing her, and waited for the referral to PT to go through. After seeing the notes in my chart, I'll be contacting the hospital to make a complaint. I would post a better example, but most are honestly not appropriate for a public review.

She was great with my mom, but not with me. I'm glad others have had good experiences, and perhaps you will too, but mine was not. Her inaccurate representation of my life is visible to all of my providers, which in turn could provide an inaccurate diagnosis in the future; It's unprofessional and dangerous if certain pertinent information is wrong, and that's not okay by me.
