Hilton San Diego Del Mar

My family and I had an amazing stay here. The room is big and clean. My daughter really enjoyed the balcony. My wife enjoyed the hot tub near the swimming pool. The lady who checked us in (Monica) is the sweetest and kindest lady. And Lorenzo helped us a lot during our stay. The valet staffs were also wonderful. Everyone there was just friendly and nice. We loved every second of our time there. We will definitely go back here again in the future. The only thing they forgot to clean our room on the last day. But we are totally fine with that. Still deserves the 5 star review from our family. Thank you again.

My Father, oldest son and I stayed here for 4 days 3 nights back in early May for a short vacation. The location was perfect for everything we wanted to do over those few days. The rooms were clean and the staff was all very friendly and professional. The hotel was a little bit dated but is well kept and very clean overall. The pool and both hot tubs were nice to have outdoors in the beautiful SD weather. I'm VERY glad we found such a great place in our price range, and I would say it's probably the highest value dollar for dollar of probably any Hilton hotel I have stayed at. If we ever come back to SD, we will certainly stay here again!

Natalie is so wonderful!!! I can’t even believe how lovely and helpful she has been. I adore this person. Thank you SO MUCH darling!!!! Tim was extremely helpful and considerate too (did my Tim review get replaced? I’m looking for it!) Either way these two staff members are incredible !!!!

Perfect getaway. The room was comfortable and spacious. Room temperature is a big deal to me, so I was thrilled that it stayed nice and cool. The pool was clean and lovely and all of the service was fantastic. We walked across the street to the fair and enjoyed a great staycation.

We came for a weekend getaway and largely enjoyed our stay!

The resort is close to many tourist spots - 10-minute drive from beaches, 10-to-15-minute drive from eateries and bars, and 20-minute drive from Carlsbad and the outlet.

The resort is small with a pool and two jacuzzis. There is no BBQ set, tennis court, or basketball court. The gym is small but fully functional. I used the gym early in the morning (~6:30am), and there was only one other person.

The room is very spacious - our room was on the third floor overlooking a jacuzzi. There is a coffee maker, a fridge, an iron, but no microwave. Coffee maker worked fine, and one can get coffee from the breakfast/bar on the ground in the morning.

Our check-in agent - M - wasn’t the friendliest. She wasn’t able to locate our reservation after I have provided my ID and e-room key on the app. Maybe it was the reservation system that confused her; we didn’t feel welcomed. Other agents were all very nice, and we appreciated their help.

Overall, 4.5/5 resort.

Room was very fresh and clean, the large 55 inch TV with crystal clear image was a big plus because usually hotels seem to cheap out on the most of the time in my experience. The pool area was just beautiful, and also quiet and peaceful. Also the fact that they are pet friendly was a huge selling point. Loved it here, was also very affordable 👍

Everyone here is always wonderful! Lorenzo and the entire staff are amazing. They go out of their way to accommodate you. I have been coming here for 10 years,would never stay anywhere else. Sandra Grey

Blaire, who checked me in at the front desk was amazing. She was professional, answered all my questions, and expedited the check in process. One main problem as I checked out occurred when I noticed that my final bill showed a charge of $60 for the dining room. I informed the front desk this was NOT MY CHARGE. The front desk informed me that they were still going to charge my credit card but would take note that I had challenged the charge. I refused to accept this decision, asked a front desk employee to go to the dining room and investigate. Sure enough someone had listed my room number instead of their own. As the dining room does not verify room number charges with room occupants I assume this happens often. There should be a policy that requires individuals who dine in the dining room to verify that they are the room occupant! The front desk issued a new invoice minus the incorrect charge but it wasn't without me insisting they check with the dining room before I paid the invoice! I suggest when staying at this Hilton you thoroughly check your invoice!

The best experience with Hilton so far. As a Diamond member, we drove from LA to SD and arrived late at the hotel but the front desk supervisor Tassio upgraded us to a super gorgeous suite. The other lady (we forgot the name) was also very helpful. Overall great experience.

We stayed here for our wedding weekend and had a room block of up to 20+ rooms. The location was perfect since we were getting married at the Lomas Santa Fe Country Club. They had plenty of rooms for our guests and were super clean! The hotel bar was also convenient as guests were arriving and it provided a great meet up for friends and family traveling from out of town. The staff was amazing to work with and provided 5 star quality customer service. I needed to check in early to get ready for my rehearsal/dinner and they kindly allowed me to check in a couple hrs early. Every time I called the front desk, they greeted me with a congratulations! It was so sweet and the staff all knew how special this weekend was for us. We felt so loved at the Hilton Del Mar on our special wedding weekend. Thank you for having us! Shoutout to Melina, Paulina, and David - you guys rock!

The suites here are average I expected more for what I paid but the pool and jacuzzi were absolutely on point thank you for a great stay over all.

Warm greeting from the valet team to checkin to checkout. My room was clean and comfortable bed with a good night rest. Breakfast buffet was delicious and loved the smoke salmon. Nice heated pool with beautiful lobby. Very close to Del Mar County Fairgrounds.

My daughter and I had luggage that broke during our flight and while we took it in stride we were tired of the awkward load. Natalie at the front desk helped us so much. From directing help with our luggage to parking she was ahead of everything. So warm and welcoming. All staff we interacted with from hellos in the hallway to service in the restaurant was genuinely nice. Highly recommend a stay here.

I wasn’t a guest but visiting a guest. So I can’t give feedback as to the rooms or prices. But the valets, Kennedy and (I forget), were very helpful in assisting us and helping us meet our friends staying at the hotel.

Pro: Lorenzo at the front desk was amazing. Answered any and all questions I had and provided top tier customer service. This is the first time that I’m writing a review DURING my stay. This five-star review was mostly to compliment Lorenzo and the rest of the front desk team and staff.

Room was pretty nice overall, slightly dirty pull out couch and microwave.

Con: Parking is $30-$45 (self-park and valet.)

I love this hotel so much. It’s really unique shd had its own charm. And the staff is unexcelled in service - Blaire helped with everything and went above and beyond, as well as Tassio and Jackie, making sure my guest was treated like gold. Food is great, love the outdoor pool and hot tub. The decor is a tribute to the racetrack culture, showcasing local artists paintings and displaying gorgeous coastal chic ambiance. A great stay every time and again, the staff is superb !

Can't beat location. We ate Four Seasons people but this hotel is fabulous for a quick one nighter then off to Del Mar race track

Our kids had a jujitsu tournament at the Del Mar Fairgrounds so this was the most convenient location to stay. We decided to stay in and eat both dinner and breakfast at the hotel. Both were pretty good. Our hotel room was nice, clean, and spacious. Staff were friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay here again.

Very nice hotel! Massio at the front desk is great! What a great guy! Everything was great, the only thing is the menus in the room sat breakfast goes untill 11am but really it closes at 10:30. Luckily I got there at 10:30 and the kitchen was nice enough to go above and beyond and still make my breakfast! This hotel embodies hospitality! The rooms are spacious, updated, and comfy! Definitely will be back!

We stay in a lot of hotels. This hotel stands out for room, service, and atmosphere. The valet and bar are great. Good place to go before (and after) concerts at the Sound. This has some old features, but it is obvious the maintenance staff stays on to of it and it looks fantastic.
