Navigating to, and locating the parking lot for Towner's Wood Park if you have never been here can be confusing. Keep going past the 'road closed' and the 'bridge closed' sign, and the parking lot is accessible before the closed bridge. Please keep an eye out for turtles on the road here. On our first time making it out here this year we ran into stopped traffic while some park visitors were helping a turtle cross the road. It was nice to see people helping.

This was a fun hike, with lots of side trails, water access, and pretty views of the forest and watershed. We saw a lot of birds and marine life. The bugs were a little dense during our mid July visit but we left the park free or any ticks! We encountered a few other friendly hikers and also some dog walkers. This is also a popular area for biking, running, and triathlon training. While here we saw a lot of bikers on the bike trail that we could observe from some of the hiking trails.

There seem to be several alternate trails and paths you can take to loop, we plan on coming back to explore some of the trails and side paths that we did not have time to check out on this last trip.

I write a one wheel here. I am respectful to Walker's dog walkers and runners. And I'm always constantly cleaning up garbage from kids. That simply don't appreciate such a beautiful piece of land period I have a lot of nice people that I talk too daily and this park is a very sacred place to me.

I have been going here for years. It's so nice to be able to walk around a lake, in the woods or on an asphalt path all in one spot! If you go deep in the woods, there are benches throughout. You can go quite a ways around the lake. The trail takes you all the way to Ravenna and beyond if you want to walk that far. And you get the benefit of trains coming by every now and then. They also have clean permanent port a pots.

Really nice little park, didn't explore too much but the views were pretty nice and the trails pretty solid. There were some very narrow trails, and a few roots and big rocks in the trail here and there, but overall pretty relaxed. Beckwiths Orchard Cider Mill was pretty close, so that's a great stop for after. : )

Been here in spring and fall. Summer was a little buggy. Has a deep woods feel to the trail. Only did outer loop of park. Hopefully these pics will help get an idea of the place.

Great hiking spot! It's very scenic and just a fun place to hike overall. It's a decent size as well. There are some inclines, but it's not overbearing. I would recommend checking it out if you're in the area. Dogs are welcome there too!

It's definitely a great place to go for a walk or hike, and if you're more adventurous, jogging.
I love Towners wood's in all seasons, and it's a great place to go foraging as well.

Turner’s words is a great place for a walkabout or for winter sledding. Trails are well marked and there are a variety of trails/hiking options. There’s a clean restroom, and parking is plentiful. I highly recommend it

Great place go and relax at.... Been visiting this place since about the time it first opened. The Indian mount is a must see and has such great views and energy. It is a bit of hike to get to, but the path is well marked. In addition, many other trails around the park to hike, including the butterfly trail, and the bike path from Kent to Ravenna runs right through the entrance of the park.

One gets a very good idea what this area looked like hundreds of years ago. Too bad the park fails to tell everyone where the artifacts ran off to, after someone dug them up years ago. Would be interesting to see what they found, let alone maybe return them here? But will leave those thoughts for a different place and not part of my review.

For some reason they have removed all the grills and have very limited picnic tables now. Also, the trash cans are gone too. Not sure why, but maybe the fires out here had something to do with it......so if plan to eat/drink here keep that in mind, that you will have carry everything in and out with you.

Such a beautiful place to spend the day getting lost in the woods, enjoy a picnic, or even hunt for and hide painted rocks! The kids love exploring the trails, observing the wildlife, and it's dog friendly so the whole family can come! This is one of our favorite places to visit, year round.

What a wonderful place to walk and hike! I loved how the trails changed so much. My boyfriend commented that there were places along the walk that resembled California where he grew up. Very beautiful. Do the loop walk and take in the beauty.

Portage hike and bike trail leads you directly here or you can drive if you prefer. The trails are beautiful, the scenery by lake pippen is beautiful, the indian burial mound is very serene place. If you need a reset button in your life just come here and walk around for an hour or two and your mind and body will thank you for it.
