Coppa Gelato

Wow! Go to this place for Gelato! Period, exclamation point! In from out of town [Pittsburgh] and was at Wendell's Pub for dinner (great place BTW). Wanted a dessert and saw that Coppa was right around the corner. The staff was so nice and was encouraging to try samples. Not a bad Gelato in the house! I had the Bourbon Pecan and thier special butter cream with dark chocolate flakes from Italy (can't even spell or pronounce the name). It was amazing, very smooth, the right amount of sweet and just excellent. The best thing was the amount you get for the price. A medium is only $6 and i had 2 flavors! They load it up and it was actually too much for me! They have been around for a long time and hopefully are around much longer. Go to this place for Gelato for sure!

First time visit to this Westerville institution and it was absolutely AWESOME!!

I now understand why Coppa Gelato is the Best Dessert in Westerville 2023 and Ohios Best Ice Cream Shop in 2023. My friends and I happen upon this gelato shop after going to dinner next door.

The shop is setup as a cute ice cream parlor and there is a sign that says gelato vs ice cream and explains the differences. I didn't know that gelato is lower in calories, fat and carbohydrates. This shop has cups of ice cream, cones, pints, and shakes.

I was able to try four different gelatos, including Stracciatella (my favorite), Cookies and Milk, Cookie Butter Crunch and Bourbon Pecan. All amazing flavors and I cannot wait to come back and try more.

Definitely come out to this gem of a shop and try the amazing gelato. I appreciate the fact that I didn't feel very full or overwhelmed with sugar. I will definitely be back!!

Just discovered this place on Friday and I absolutely love it. By far the best gelato in the city. It’s house made to perfection, super creamy & they offer plenty of flavors. It’s a cute little cafe sprinkled with old country relics. The owner is a super personable dude living out his dream. Definitely check this place out, you will not be disappointed. The only thing that would make it better is if there was a location in Dublin.

One of my closest friends and I were having one of our fun, one-on-one culinary adventures that led us to Coppa Gelato for dessert.

She got the snickerdoodle and pumpkin gelatos, which she said were really good. I got the lemon basil sorbetto as it sounded like the best vegan option, and I was not disappointed. It was refreshing, herbaceous, and pleasantly aromatic. The sweetness was just right and not overpowering. I ate an entire pint and would have gladly eaten another gallon, but we had just had dinner.

We had eaten at the patio because the weather was nice, but as we were getting ready to head out, I asked my friend if I could take pictures of the inside before we left because the venue looked cool. I am so glad we did.

Donald, the manager, asked us about our experience, and we had an amazing conversation. He was kind, curious, thoughtful, and inquisitive as he told us how they were building their social media presence, engaging with the community with free gelato making classes, potentially collaborating with nearby restaurants, creating new recipe ideas, and keeping Italian tradition alive in Westerville while making gelato and other desserts of their own. It was a pure delight, and we talked with Donald for over an hour about the new fall menu items.

Donald was amazing and gave us samples of their homemade buckeyes, which happened to be vegan. I personally am not a fan of peanut butter in most desserts, but they surpassed all of my expectations. The buckeyes were perfectly sweet, but not cloying, they struck the right balance between chocolate and peanut butter, and I almost ate the ones my friend was going to eat. They were incredible.

I highly recommend Coppa Gelato under the current management (Nov. 2022) for anyone who enjoys gelato, ice cream, confections, and baked desserts. They make everything in house and also have fancy coffee. If you are in the area, definitely stop by. You will be glad you did.

I loved this place! The ice cream was so yummy! And we would definitely return! Even when we live far from this area. And they kindly gave our dog a treat, too! She was adopted from FCDS.

Absolutely amazing ... whether you enjoy something fruit-forward or chocolate-centric or more adventurous flavors, Coppa is *THE* Columbus destination for gelato. It's an inspired indulgence every time.

My pregnant wife and I were on our way to Meijer for a spur of the moment chocolate cake when I saw this Gelato place so we stopped here instead. We are both lactose intolerant so I got the mango Sorbetto and she got the Strawberry which was not on display but only in the back. They both tasted great and reminded me of when I studied art history in Florence. We mentioned that we were stopping in here instead of Meijer and the owner gave us a small container with sample pieces of their chocolate cakes for free! I haven't seen kindness like this in a long while and was pleasantly surprised by his hospitality.

We'll definitely be back with the baby!

PS to the person who gave a poor review because gelato is not ice cream?? They are different, if you want ice cream there’s options available elsewhere. for a gelato place this place is phenomenal. Also why do you care about the rewards program if you don’t like the place? It’s amazing they have any loyalty program at all. And lastly the prices here are in line with other gourmet ice cream / dessert places (think jenis graeters etc)… this place deserves nothing less than 5 stars!!

Great Gelato, many flavors, got 3 flavors: birthday cake, mango sorbet, and stracciatela! Great combo, the lady got pistacchio, fragola, and banana foster. Will definitely try it again, great experience!

So glad I know about this place. It's a nice treat to stop in and get a scoop of gelato and maybe a cappuccino or macaroons. It's a nice, bright, clean place. They always have a great selection of gelato and macaroons. They even pints you can take home and even gelato cakes!!! Stop in, relax, have a treat!

As a European who is missing all kinds of things from home...finally I got a really tasty gelato, taste like home...the owners/staff were very nice and friendly. The place is clean and neat. If you are nearby go and grab a cup of gelato.
We tried the peach, pistachio and vanilia, and I would definitely could taste more...

Update: I wish they would prep sugar free options too...since I got my blood sugar result..came out GDM..I can't even think about to go there to eat gelato 😔😔😔

June 2021 update: It was lovely sitting outside at a shady table, enjoying Coppa Gelato’s creamy delicious gelato.

I got a cup of triple chocolate and pistachio, and my husband got fragola (strawberry) and panna cotta (sweet Italian cream). Great flavor and texture!

The current owners of Coppa Gelato got the recipes when they bought the business. The gelateria is clean and comfortable, and they offer contactless payments. For those who wish to avoid dairy, sorbetto is available.

The gelato at Coppa Gelato is as fabulous as what we had in Italy. I don't care for sugary concoctions, so after sampling several flavors, I got the dark chocolate and pistachio. So flavorful! And with a wonderful mouth feel! The service was excellent and friendly, and there is a comfortable couch in addition to tables and chairs. Really good!

Had the flight with Bourbon Pecan, Hazelnut, Mixed berry and Mango sorbet. Also had the affogato with Pistachio and Stracciatella. Very cute place to go with friends and family.

Absolutely amazing. The pistachio is so good and the chocolate is rich but not overly so. The prices are reasonable for it being a standalone made in house shop. One of my new favorite places for frozen sweet treats! If you are on the edge of whether or not to visit, I urge you to try it at least once.

We always like ice cream here better than other places. They always let us try different flavors.

We went here tonight for the first time and it was amazing! The people were so nice and helpful giving recommendations and samples. I love the variety of flavors and can't wait to go back and try more as well as some of their other sweet treats. Definitely a must add to your list of places to go for a great dessert!

This is our second time going, we absolutely love it! We wish there was one closer to our home in Columbus. Love the owners as well! Very friendly and just a wonderful Westerville staple. I hope this place never leaves!!
