I was so excited to visit the store last month with my husband and daughter. It was so easy to lose ourselves in the contents of the shelves and get excited about the treasures we found and reminisce about books we found from our childhood that we can share with our own kids. There is so much work that goes into keeping such a special place like "Pretty Good Books" open and I hope Joe and Sarah know just how much the community appreciates them and their store. It really is a 'not so hidden' gem and I look forward to returning soon!

Came across this place while visiting the area. Pretty Good Books is a hidden gem for book lovers and collectors! Browsing through the bookshelves is like searching for hidden treasures. This, plus extremely knowledgeable owners and outstanding customer service, make it a wonderful shopping experience for book lovers!
The building has a cool history too, so be sure to ask about it if your into that!
We will definitely be back every time we are in the area!

My Mom and I recently visited this fantastic find. We're both book nerds and the large selection was great. The owner was attentive and very helpful. Definitely a return visit very soon!!

A very nice place. I love how they have it laid out. Easily accessible and a nice assortment of books. The owners were very nice and fun to talk to. Very old building with nice architecture and features to enjoy. Lots of close parking. They opened at noon on a Sat. I went for a book signing event for Linda Porcello.

It's a delight to visit Joe and Sarah's bookstore Pretty Good Books in Ashtabula. They have a huge inventory of books, stretching back in time from decades ago to what's current now, for all ages and for all interests. And they care about indie authors too. Great conversation and great browsing. Check out their store!

I bought some absolutely gorgeous and reasonably priced antique books online from this shop. The books were rare and extremely important to me as they were for my Wife's Christmas present.

The customer service from this shop is unsurpassed. I contacted them and discussed the possibility of purchasing the books. From that point onwards Joe was super-responsive polite, kind, thoughtful, and did everything possible to ensure I received the books in fine condition.

Now my wife has received them and is delighted. They were packed with the utmost care and protection to ensure a safe journey.

The customer service and genuine interest found at this shop is something truly special. In the days of online shopping and Amazon anonymity, this shop provides the real human touch and the absolute quality of a discerning book seller.

Stopped on a whim while in town. One of the best bookstores I’ve ever been to! Nice people, too. I would absolutely come back to browse around. There’s something for everyone at a place like this.

Such a cute little place! There are so many book choices and plenty of classics- it felt like I was in a little wonderland! The workers were friendly and helped us find the books we were looking for with ease and provided book suggestions as well. If you’re looking for a historical old book, a noteworthy classic, or a new book from local authors, this is the place to come! In the future it would be cool to have a little nook/reading area to read here and get lost in a book in this little shop’s historical and ambient environment. So happy I found this neat little place and will definitely be coming back!

My son and I stumbled upon this delightful shop yesterday. It was our first visit but it definitely won’t be our last. The owners are true bibliophiles who are more than willing to help. (Sarah brought me an entire box of books by my favorite vintage author!) We can’t stop talking about Pretty Good Books because it is actually Amazingly Wonderful Books.

I stopped in today strolling down Main Avenue. Such a great experience! Shelves lined both walls to the top, tables set up and full in the middle, books patiently waiting new homes (in store and hoping to be on coffee tables and night stands.)
Needless to say I walked out with a box full and excitement to see where the expansion takes this wonderful store in the coming months!

Super cute bookstore with a great selection of new, used, and indie books. We attended a book signing event for a local author. It was very well done and we had a great time!

Avid readers and really anyone looking for a book to take home and read, this is the place for you! This shop is immediately inviting, with an atmosphere that makes this the perfect spot to while away hours browsing. The owners are incredibly friendly and have an answer to any of your book questions- if they don’t have it, they will offer to find it! Stop in and check it out- and tell your friends!
