Gorgeous place to go year-round from a snow storm to a beautiful day in the middle of summer. it has an amazing dock to launch kayaks of cannons and even has a place to bring your dog to meet new friends.

Great trail around the lake. Ducks, turtles, snakes and all sorts of other creatures are there hanging out. We love the wetland area. I prefer to do that last, rather than first. There are many native plants to see.

This is the best park on Long Island; Went today for the first time the trail is beautiful. By the water the whole time so it’s easy to navigate but you should def use a pdf map. The elevation changes and twists and turns make it super fun to traverse. Took me 3 hours to finish so plan accordingly (food water ect). You for sure need hiking boots there is a lot of roots you go over, some mud for sure, and the elevation changes are real, this is not a flat terrain.

I will for sure be coming back here. It was great it felt like it’s own world because the area is so big it goes on forever.

Beautiful sense of unspoiled nature, many paths to hike. Paths are sometimes very uneven and affected by weather, so hikers should wear good outdoor footwear and be steady on your feet. Carry out your refuse, no trashcan. Very dog-friendly. Recommend bringing a map or using the QR code digital resources throughout park; easy to get lost if you don't know the paths well.

Really beautiful park with nice trails around the lake. Lots and lots of swans, some of which were flying today. Trails are well marked and are probably the most naturish on Long Island. Very little noise deeper into the trails. The loop was about 6 miles, half of which I ran. They rent boats as well which is cool.

One of the nicest trails I've ever walked. Peaceful and beautiful surroundings that will help you de-stress. My friend and I walked the entire nearly 6 mile trail around the pond and it took us about 3 hours. We saw quite a few deer observing us from the woods.

Beautiful park. Great Place to go for a walk. Most sections are under a canopy of trees so you don't have to worry about the sun

Great lush green trails going around a large fresh water body, with beautiful moss along the way. Lots of song birds, chipmunks, and other little critters. Was lucky enough to spot a black water snake. It's a nice park for a walk with your dog, a jog or an offroad bike ride.

Camped at this park for a few days, easy to book a space (you need the green key $30 and to be a Suffolk resident, if not you probably have to pay more, each day is about $20 fee for staying over. Minimum 3 nights). Far away from other campers/each site has water, shade. Restrooms are open too. (Bring your own fire pit, there aren’t any).

The hiking is long, about 3 hours, more if you get lost like us. The trails are hardly marked by a blue line on the trees, very hard to follow. But the site is beautiful, just make sure you go before the sun goes down.

Beautiful park on Long Island, lived here 30 years and only recently went for my first time for a hike around the pond. It was very nice to be able to disconnect from the holiday hustle and bustle in the calm of the park! There’s also a great dog park area that I intend to come back to soon. Truly a hidden gem right here in Suffolk County.

Beautiful, quiet park. Hidden but accessible gem! Fall is a great time to hike the 6.6 mile loop around the lake, or any part of it. There are also dog parks on the grounds.

Great hiking trails that go all around the lake (3-4 hrs to hike all the way around) Perfect to bring your dog and surprising peaceful and quiet. This is always my favorite park to visit when I need to unwind outdoors.

A wonderful family friendly, kids friendly and pet friendly park for jogging, hiking or running (even mountain biking and horse riding!) around the huge lake. The environment is calm and beautiful, small uphill or downhill in the woods, well established trails with blue, green or white markers. There are different parking sites allocated in the north and southeast around the lake. At the north parking, there's a small children playground. At the southeast site, there's kayak launching area. The longest trail all way along the lake probably is about 6 miles. A lovely place worth visiting once a week.

Beautiful hidden in plain sight park! Hiking, wildlife, BBQing, kayaks, rowboats, dog park...It has it all! Not to crowded most of the time. The staff does a wonderful job maintaining the grounds. The Blydenburgs settled this land in the 1700s and chose wisely!

Fun park, nice trails, great for dogs. When it's wet out the trails in some parts fill up with water and flood, we had just some sight difficulty getting through them but nothing impassable. The trails are marked nicely with blue blazes on the trees.
