Computer Room

The Computer Room recently transferred my data to my new MAC. They were quick, totally reliable, and checked back to make sure all was well. Their pricing is fair because employees are reasonably paid. All employees are lovely human beings to deal with. They are so patient with older Luddites-in-spirit, too! Barbara Regenspan

Many thanks to Computer Room for the exceptional service! My custom-built computer wasn't posting when built up. They quickly identified that the motherboard was defective. They also offered a re-building service at affordable rates. When the new motherboard arrived, I decided to let their team rebuild it. Now everything works perfectly.
I also received very helpful tips from their technician about possible problems with Nvidia RTX's power cable port. Thanks again for the fantastic service!

Customer service was exceptional. Two laptops to be wiped clean and disposed of. Staff was knowledgeable and the owner sent a very thoughtful follow up message. Would definitely return for additional service(s).

I have four computers operating at my home, so it’s safe to say I am not exactly a novice when it comes to troubleshooting. I purchased a Dell XPS 8940 roughly three years ago. The machine was overheating and, as a consequence, its performance was becoming erratic. Dust and ventilation were non-issues. I was ready to open the desktop’s tower and re-paste the CPU; but, since it’s not an inexpensive machine, I thought better of it. To make a long story short, the folks at Computer Room quickly diagnosed, fixed, and explained to me in detail the software conflict that had arisen -- a solution I never would have been able to identify. Suffice it to say, this desktop computer now runs like new and I (and my wallet!) couldn’t be more pleased. Over the course of several years, this was the second time I had taken a problem desktop to the Computer Room; and, I can’t imagine seeking assistance anywhere else for computer help when the need arises.

As a small local business owner, I trust the Computer Room implicitly. I was traveling recently and had a major tech issue, Ben/team immediately provided timely, superb troubleshooting support and resolved it within the hour.

Best computer store in upstate New York. These guys were a pleasure to work with and did a fantastic job helping to build my custom gaming desktop computer.

They were friendly, answered all my questions, communicated everything in advance, and had great working knowledge of all my individual PC components (even the latest tech).

Oh, and the dogs are a huge plus.

The Computer Room provided excellent service, communicating clearly, doing the work promptly, and offering us helpful advice. When the original part we needed was no longer available, they gave us the updated part at no additional cost. They followed up to see if we were happy with the work, which I also appreciated. Diagnosed and fixed our desktop PC problem for an affordable price and reasonably quick time frame! Super friendly and kind too. The Computer Room of Ithaca is now my go-to place for computer repair.

My computer suffered a problem so I called the Computer Room and they told me what the problem most likely was. They confirmed it was a dead hard drive and replaced it with a new one as well as the other hard drive inside that was close to ending the same way. Communication over the phone was great and they handle it all very professionally. Computer was ready in just a few days after dropping off. I recommend these guys to anyone who needs help with their computers.

2nd Experience April, 2024. Had a fan issue that needed to be replaced. The technician not only replaced the fan but went out of the way to make sure airflow inside the computer was as efficient as it could be by moving some hardware where they needed to be for optimal flow. The computer looked brand new as well after a thorough cleaning and the price of it all I was very happy with. The computer is running silent and great now. Thank you again for the great job on my computer. Highly recommended.

I have used the Computer Room (Seth/Ben) for help with computer matters in the past and so when I recently had another system issue, I called them and (late in the day) received very helpful guidance on how I could manage my needs while without certain equipment (to be repaired by them). I think we are very fortunate to find an office with this level of knowledge, expertise and professionalism. I also feel they are good at assessing equipment via their diagnostics after which they give you a well communicated, truthful and honest assessment along with timely and excellent service; and for these reasons I very highly recommend the Computer Room.

From the first phone call to ask if they could help, Ben explained everything including pricing to me clearly so I knew exactly what to expect. I needed to retrieve data off of an outdated hard drive, and even though they ran into some damage and had to do extra work, he charged me the same base amount when he definitely could have charged more. I sincerely appreciate his service and would absolutely recommend their very professional services for any of your computing needs.

The Computer Room saved me from disaster: my far-too-old hard drive immolated itself, taking its files and emails (i.e. my last 13 years of memory and work and everything) with it. They managed to retrieve all of it, and I am eternally grateful; and it was done at a reasonable price (though I probably would have mortgaged my house if they had demanded it). These people know their business, and I highly recommend them.

Fast, conscientious and competent! highly recommend with NO reservations. I needed an entire new system and Ben and his team set me up so that I could plug in and go. No bouts of frustrations at all! Just can not recommend Ben, Seth and Sebastian enough. I am a home builder so this stuff is all cryptic to me, these guys make it easy and I never feel as dumb about this stuff as I really am. : }

True desire to help you and very knowledgeable and honest staff. I worked with Seth. Brought my computer in to fix a broken screen. Seth advised me on which new parts I would need, though I eventually decided to just buy a new computer. Worked with me to get the perfect fit and handle account transfer issues. Also showed me how to fix some issues on my own later. Very informative, helpful and kind. They also have dogs!! I will definitely be returning if I ever have other technical issues.

Incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and respectful. They helped me with research for a new build, told me why some parts needed upgrading, and then put it together quickly when I needed the help! Very reasonable pricing and they are upfront about expected costs.

The folks at the Computer Room are knowledgeable and patient. Some of us need all the help we can get with computers/programs/technology in general. That is exactly what Seth provided as I transitioned from an elderly IMac to an updated version. I have relied on their service for many years and will happily continue to do so.
