Dr. How's Auto Repair

A friend took me there last minute for a overdue inspection and they were kind enough to do that for me. I believe I found a new machanic to go to if my mechanic is not available for me. The owner was very nice and I recommed this place!!!

After a year of using Dr. How's we are still very happy. They are genuinely good people and their work is great. When I leave there I always feel I have ripped them off instead of the other way around (like most garages). They charge a fair price for their work and end up fixing the issue instead of replacing 10 parts that don't need to be replaced.

We were staying in the area for a fall getaway and I stupidly cracked open our finicky sunroof to enjoy the weather. I then could not get the roof to close and rain was expected. The Coxsackie area is not a booming metropolis, so our options were limited, but we could not be more fortunate that Dr. How's was a short drive away.

We showed up unannounced and after a short conversation with Suzanne, the good doctor and Suzanne dropped everything to squeeze us in! They tried a number of methods to reset the electrical, but had to close it mechanically by hand (after Suzanne discovered this last-ditch option after some Googling). We are so grateful that Dr. How worked us into his busy day and Suzanne made us feel at home and gave us peace of mind! We were also delighted by the nominal costs for such a disruptive morning! Thank you again, Sue and Dr. How!

I had my transmission overheat and lost fluid on the Thruway traveling from Jersey. I took the exit and went to Dr. How's. Although he was very busy on a Saturday afternoon, he did enough to get me safely on my way to vacation in the Adirondacks. They were very helpful and reasonably priced. Thank you so much!

Dr. How's is definitely the place to go! Everyone there genuinely cares about both you and your vehicle. They will give you straight forward answers, true advice, and help you decide what is the best plan of action for repairs. I highly recommend them for sure! Sue is the sweetest and made us feel right at home. Very fairly priced and knowledgeable for sure and we will definitely be going back for any other vehicle needs as long as we're living near this area. A big thank you to everyone at Dr. How's!!

Just found out that my car needs to be repaired and have been searching for a good mechanic to do the job. A family member recommended Dr. How's. Let me tell you, Sue is one of the most understanding, kind people that I've never met before. You read that right, I've never met her. Just talked to her on the phone about pricing, but even so, I was able to see that she truly had my best interest at heart. Due to my schedule, I'm not going to be able to get my car repaired at their place this time. When I informed Sue of my decision, she was super understanding. Not a hint of annoyance in her voice. You can bet that I will be here in the future if I need a car repair.

I highly recommend Dr How's Auto Repair. Their expertise, integrity, and honesty are a rare combination in today's world. Suzanne is a kind and knowledgeable person and I am extremely grateful for her and for my experience there !

I've been taking my car to Dr. How's for a few years now. They are so friendly, helpful and down to earth. I have had nothing but positive experiences. Over the years I have referred 3 of my friends to them and they also experienced great service. They don't quote a bunch of stuff you don't really need. They work with you. I can't say enough great things about them!

Blew a tire out on the Thruway. Nursed my van to the Coxsackie exit and made it to their shop. They were just closing from a long hot day. Went out of the way to get me a tire and then my battery died. Charged up the battery and hardly charged me! Very thankful! I recommend them, great people. Thanks again.

Car axel broke down on the highway, and I took it here. I was very happy with the service, the mechanics were very helpful and kept me informed the whole way through. They were able to fix my car in a matter of a few hours, and did an amazing job. I would trust them with further repairs to my car, they did a great job.

We are so lucky to have Dr. How's nearby. They have serviced our aging cars since we moved here last year, completing inspections, routine and emergency repairs with honesty, friendliness, and efficiency. Most recently they saved me hundreds of dollars with a second opinion, and fixed my a/c while I was there to boot! Highly recommend to locals and tourists alike.

My car's engine threw a spark plug while driving down I-87, and luckily I was able to limp the car to Dr. How's. Within minutes they had the car in the garage, diagnosed the problem, gave me my options and had new parts delivered. 90 minutes later, I was back on the road and got home safely. The charge for the service was very fair and gracious - you'd be lucky to break down outside Exit 21B. Excellent experience.

Had a flat tire on our way to Montreal and Ambrose and his family took amazing care of us. Excellent speedy service at an exceptionally fair price. Good honest people!

Excellent people.Howard has been doing this a very long time. He calls to let you know what's wrong, how much it costs and when it's ready. Great local folks to do your automotive repair business with. Just outside the NYS Thruway at exit 21B.

Lost a valve stem on the Thruway, was able to limp it off the highway on a half inflated spare. Right across the exit was the shop with the funny name. They took me right in and replaced both stems and got me back on the road. Nice folks too, I would recommend them to everyone.

Suzanne and Howard have been taking care of my old bangers for quite a few years now, and they've always been forthright, honest and timely. I also always enjoy talking to Suzanne, who makes my visits seem more like social calls.

Sue and Howard are really nice they are like mom and dad to me love that garage they always make sure that my vehicles are always safe for my lil boy thank yous so much Howie and sue.

Local people .. ALWAYS HELPFUL.. NEVER LEFT OUT TO DIE.. GOOD PEOPLE .. GOES ABOVE AND BEYOND TO HELP THEIR CUSTOMERS.. SUE N HOWIE ARE THE BEST.. 10+ yrs. WITH them and they ARE LIKE FAMILY.... IF UR FKed on the thruway or stuck in ur DRIVEWAY.. THEY WILL BE THERE FOR YOU... GOD BLESS ALL OF YOU

It's a working man garage, the prices are low and they make sure the car is safe and they tell you what needs to be done and what could wait a shop that is rare to find in my opinion

They Did what they said they would do! They charged what they said they would!!! Very nice!! I will tell others also how honest, Good, Kind they were to My Mother, Esther Kirwan 🙂
