True North Basecamp

Great last-minute stay to catch the northern lights! This cabin was perfect for my little family — had everything we needed. The fenced in yard was great for the dog! TV to watch the Wolves in the playoffs. And access to night sky with amazing aurora. Also, I know have appliance envy.

Great nice updated and very clean cabin. We stayed in the main 2 bedroom cabin. ( this one is not lakeside) but easy access to all trails and close to town. Dan was very easy to get ahold of with any questions. We will recommend this campground to others.

Beautiful location, located right on a lake. Nice modern no frills cabins. Trails connect to the bike trails. Quiet and peaceful.

Lovely! Nice trails for walking. Very tidy cabin. We stayed one night and it was perfect. Remember to bring your own bedding though...ss travelers that was the only rough part. I wish we could have rented them. otherwise excellent.

This place was an absolute dream. Our kids loved the area and the cabins were so near the water and connecting trails that you could just hop on your bike and be off.

The owners went out of their way to make us feel really welcome and have us hooked. We will definitely be back at Cayuna and each visit will be at True North Basecamp. Great mix of “camping” but with the four walls, A/C and electric plugins a family of 5 really needs.

Very nice little cabins with good access to mountain biking trails! We have stayed before and will certainly do so again. The cabins and service gotten better and they were already excellent. Highly recommended as a place to stay while in the area enjoying the town and trails!

wonderful digs to rest your cute head and sore bod after a day of mountain biking. cabin stay was super enjoyable with a front row seat to the lake and sunsets! build yourself a fire and get cozy. the trail connects at the last cabin. easy access to everything crosby, nature, food and fun! does not disappoint!

We stayed at the Main Cabin recently, very nice set up close to the road with a full kitchen and two rooms. Unfortunately, the water was off due to an issue with the city, the owner answered my messages right away and gave us a partial refund to make up for it. Was very inconvenient having the water off but at least there were shower houses! Was a very fun place to be able to bring our dog and hike a little at the state park, we will most likely return to experience the cabin with the water on!

I had an incredible experience at True North Basecamp! The accommodations were clean and comfortable, making it the perfect escape. I highly recommend for anyone seeking an adventure-filled and rejuvenating getaway. Can't wait to visit again!

Our family rented one of the cabins for the weekend, and rented bikes in Crosby for our first mountain biking experience. It was such a fantastic time. The location was perfect - we could walk into Crosby to rent the bikes, and bike in and out from True North. The cabin itself was absolutely perfect for our family of four - two parents, and a 12 and 10 year old. They were clean, and modern. The artwork in the Surly cabin where we stayed was awesome - kids thought it was super cool. We honestly could not have asked for a better experience. We will definitely be back!

What a great place! I stayed in the wall tents and had a great time. Tents were clean, not smelly, and way bigger than i expected. We pushed the two cots together and put an air mattress on top of the cots and we still had room to put our bikes in the tent with us at night.
Showers and bathrooms are nice and clean with plenty of HOT water to wash off. Easy access to the lake to go swimming in crystal clear water too!

You are like 4 blocks from Holiday, bike shops, grocery store, you name it.

I know there are other places to camp, but I don't care to check them out. I will always stay here.

First time here. The kids enjoyed fishing. The cabin bunks were perfect and the bathroom/showers were not too far. We enjoyed the bike trails. We will definitely come back again.

We were only able to stay one night this time, but are looking forward to a longer stay. The cabins were clean, simple, and so much more comfortable than a tent (ac!!). The bathrooms were clean and just a few steps away. The view over the lake was beautiful and it was fun to be right on the trails. The stream and lake were a fun way to cool off. Communication was very prompt and helpful.

Our family of 4 stayed in a cabin tent for 2 nights. It was so nice not having to bring and set up our own tent. The cabin tents were large enough to stand in and fit our family of 4 perfectly! It had 2 cots, and we brought extra air mattresses for the kids. We were happy to find out this campground was so close to the bike trails! The showers were nice, and the campground was very well maintained. The cabins were right next to the showers and trails, we only wished the cabin tents were closer to the showers and trails. You have to go up a pretty big hill to get back to the tent area. Next time we will stay in a cabin!

Stayed at the Tent cabins with a group of guys last weekend. The tents and beds are super comfortable. Fire rings with grate for cooking was very convenient. Like a ski in ski out lodge but for amazing mountain biking. A short bike ride or walk to town for restaurants, bars, brewery, and bowling! I would definitely do this again and highly recommend True North Basecamp to anyone looking for a comfortable clean place to stay in Cuyuna.

We spent three nights at True North Basecamp. The camper-cabin was wonderful--clean, spacious, and excellent for a family of five. The shower building was similarly excellent. We enjoyed the lake for swimming (warmer water in July than I thought we'd get) and easy access to the biking trails. Friendly workers at the camp brought by the firewood that we ordered. The easy access to Crosby for meals and supplies makes this so convenient. The only general comment is that Crosby area is ideal for those in my family who were mountain bikers but the attractions didn't come as easily for the non-bikers in my family, compared to other vacation areas in the region.

My son and I stayed in a cabin for four nights and had an awesome experience.
Communication was mostly clear. I got a little nervous when I hadn’t received to code to our cabin an hour before check in time so I emailed True North and got a response within minutes letting me know that the code would be emailed 30 minutes before the check in time. The previous email had said we’d receive it the day of check in, I just didn’t expect that it would be that close to checking in time, but fair enough.
The cabin and bathrooms were clean and everything was in working order. You can’t regulate the water temperature on the shower but we were pleased that it was plenty warm.
We met Jeff the caretaker and he was super nice and made sure we had everything we needed to get through a cold and rainy day. He came back and dug out our fire pit so it would be easier for us to start a fire and left some newspaper and cardboard to help.
The location was super convenient. We were able to get in a good amount of biking in the mornings, zip back to the cabin for lunch and then easily hit the trail again.
The camp sights and tent cabins look awesome too!

Fantastic camp ground! We stayed in a cabin tent with our dog for 3 nights. Perfect location for adventuring in Crosby. Easy check in / out- and they deliver firewood to your site. Cabin tent is very comfortable, beds are a nice change from sleeping on camping pad, loved having a light and usb charging plug for phone. Would stay here again and highly recommend!

Fantastic accomodations for mountain bikers! The website reservation system is the best one I've ever used for booking a camping reservation. I was even able to order firewood and it was waiting my camp site when we showed up after dark. The cabins look like an amazing and fun place to stay. Best of all, the showers are so so nice to be able to clean up after a trail ride. The trails around here are also epic by the way, and basically come to and from the campground. I'll be back 🕶

Beautiful location, clean modern cabins and facilities, easy access to amazing trail system, friendly guests and site crew, close enough yet far away from the cities, and crystal clear mine lake. Better than expected. We’ll return sometime soon. Oh, and the loons were such a treat!

If there are extra beds in your cabin, we’d suggest doubling up your mattresses. You’ll still be happy with a single though.
