Astoria Pastry Shop

I recently moved to Royal Oak, and this has quickly become my favorite dessert spot. I'd been here once or twice previously but have been here 3 times in the last 2 weeks. I love trying their different ice-cream flavors. They have a huge variety. I also took home some of their macaroons, which are so delicious. I plan to try their other pastries soon. The location is right in the heart of Royal Oak downtown. Parking is a bit of a pain as most of the street parking is usually full, but otherwise, no complaints. Will definitely be back soon!

We ordered some pastries to go and they’re delicious! The crème brûlée is excellent and the tiramisu is absolutely delectable. I’m not very much into merengues but I definitely enjoyed the chocolate one since it is really flavorful. I ordered a cappuccino as well which was good and I totally recommend the lemon blueberry danish. Service was very nice, place is very cleaned and pretty. Also I loved that they even have dogs treats so we got to pamper our furry boy too. :)

So many options and this is good.
My cold coffee was good but the strawberry covered in chocolate was a little bit hard to eat, but I suppose it should be like that. I’m just careful with my teeth after braces.

We like to come and get a treat from here whenever we are in the area! They always have lots to choose from, even in the evening. Definitely recommend!

What an amazing place to grab some hot tea 🍵 or coffee and some delicious desserts 🍮! the selection of teas is incredible and grapefruit one was my favorite 😍 although they all tasted great! Macarons and cakes 🍰 are all worth trying! Service was nice and friendly and ambiance is great inside and outside too!

I was introducing to this wonderful bakery by a friend. It had so many selections, plus ice cream and beverages. I can't wait for another occasion to come back to try more delicious desserts

Wow!! I was not expecting the variety of pastries offered here. My mouth watered and before long I didn’t know which way to go. I had to decide between chocolate, strawberry, lemon and the delicious large cinnamon buns. SMH, I couldn’t believe I ate the whole thing. I would definitely recommend the experience. I shall return. ❤❤❤❤❤

Very popular local dessert place in Royal Oak. The pastries were tasty and reasonably priced. Cute space, with sweet touches, like bread knots for door handles.

While seated two doors down, I had an hour to look around my surroundings while waiting for our food. I noticed the word "Pastry" underneath an umbrella and decided to google it first. Astoria, google said, closes at midnight. I've never heard of a pastry shop closing late, so was curious and went to check it out while still waiting for my food at Ale Mary's (be sure to check out my review of that restaurant).

Upon entering, it was beautiful as a pastry shop should be. All the pastries lit in warm lighting and tantalizing behind glass. There must have been a staff meeting as they were all in the back - I could see them as the wall was glass. I didn't need help, but a gentleman came to the counter a few minutes later to ask if we needed help. Nope - all good, we'll be back we told him.

And we did come back - we came back after our meal, and so did everyone else. The place was packed to the door. The service was pretty quick, considering how busy it was. The same older gentleman helped me. As another review pointed out, not super friendly, but helpful. I took home $60 worth of pastries and don't regret a single thing. I had an eclair this morning 😋

The gentleman said that they remain that busy right up until midnight. So if you are in the area, and want some sweets, it's open until Midnight!

This is a fun little spot tucked away right in downtown. The late hours make it that much better. We stopped for a couple of treats, the staff was helpful but not very friendly, although the other customers made the experience more fun. Must Stop

O.M.G. Are you looking for some tasty baked goods and pastries? How about a really good caramel machiatto? This is your place. I just happened to stop in because I'm waiting for my husband to get done with his hair cut from up the street, and I'm so happy I did! I'm not sure how one makes a decision on what goody to eat, but I do know that a little girl came in and knew exactly what she wanted, which was a snowman cupcake. This place offers everything from a slice of black forest cake, cake pops, baklava, cheesecake! They even have a gourmet ice cream selection with your favorite flavors, including a couple of different coffee flavors. I could go on and on about this place. Stop in to satisfy your sweet tooth today!

Baklavas were amazing! They were a little big in size. The display was very well presented. There are few places and chair to sit and enjoy the desserts. The staff is friendly.

They have such a wide selection of incredible pastries and baked goods. It took me and my fiance a good 5 minutes of hemming and hawing to decide what we wanted because everything looked incredible. We got the baklava and the chocolate fudge cookies and were not disappointed.

If you’re in Royal Oak or Greektown (the original location), Astoria Pastry Shop is not to be missed 🤤 Although you can buy individual cookies, ice cream, and sweet treats like rock candy and 🍭💕 IMHO this isn’t a quick grab, go & inhale type bakery. It’s a true pastry shop 🎂🧁🍰🥮🍪🍦🍡🍮 Give yourself the gift of indulging in some of their gorgeous confections and savoring every mouth-watering bite. The German Chocolate Cake has become an annual birthday tradition, but everything IS as good as it looks 🥳

Amazing. I told the girl I wanted one of everything and she rolled her eyes and walked away. Must hear that all day. Sorry. This place has just about ANY baked treat you could want and they’re all done well. The selection is out of this world and the quality is on point. I had a cannoli, baklava and crème brûlée all three were spectacular. Will visit again!!

Awesome desserts and coffee/tea. We had the tiramisu, key lime pie, and pecan ice cream. Everything was delicious. They have a ton of variety and are reasonably priced.

This place has a wide variety of treats for an amazing price. My personal favorite would be the Nutella cronut and the cinnamon roll, those are to DIE for! They also sell icecream and milkshakes here, along with the typical bakery staples like cakes, cupcakes, dipped treats, etc. I also love that they have baklava and other pastries here as well.
