In my opinion, the Mecosta County Road Commission is an excellent outfit, very professional, dedicated to the maintenance of our county roads, etc. I've felt that way for many years, and feel many times they are not appreciated.

Update: Again, the Mecosta County Road Commission went above and beyond professionalism. My road was impassible due to a culvert washed out, but the county workers were on the job in short notice, plus the road looks better than before. Not sure, but I'll bet they are underpaid as well as overworked!

It's easy to criticize but I want to THANK whoever was responsible for Brush Hogging 85th Ave. (1/4 mile, Dead End), north of 5 Mile & King's Trading Post in Hinton Twp.!! It has needed that so bad because of the Autumn Olive overgrowth. I cut some of the road side myself because it was so bad!!! Not anymore; so Thank You Again, you did a GREAT job!!!

Laziest road commission in Michigan Big Rapids is a very small town yet they can’t manage to GET the few main roads clear mustless KEEP them clear! For example we have had a winter storm warning since last night and here it’s 6pm the next day and THE ROADS HAVE STILL NOT BEEN TOUCHED AT ALL! everyone’s safety is at stake, it’s a COLLEGE TOWN full of ignorant bad drivers and the bad roads on top of that is ridiculous THERES NO EXCUSE. Is the road commission in the pockets of the automobile shops?! Something isn’t right. Someone lining their pockets with the money ment for the road commission? This issue 100% needs to be investigated and immediately

We live on a dead end road right off of M20 and for some same reason the forget to plow are road. But the road A crossed from ours is always plowed always plowed. Like every other road in the county. We have lived here for over six years and the first four years we had never had any issues. Until someone install the gate in the middle of the road. So now Road Commission has no place to turn their rigs around. Why should the people that live on the road have to put their life‘s in danger. Just because they don’t want to deal with the headache of turning around. We wouldn’t complain if it wasn’t a dangerous intersection at the bottom of steep hill. The traffic on M20 is traveling at 55 mph and if you try to pull out, the only thing you can do is pray. That nothing is going to pop over the hill and if there is you have enough traction to pull out quick enough.

I travel the state of Michigan for my job and Mecosta County is one of if not the worst county in the state to keep up with road maintenance, plowing, and repairs. The work they do is subpar at best when they do work! Overall the roads are dangerous, especially in the winter months! I would really like to know where our money is going because it obviously is not being used for our roads!

I live on one of the roads that were blacktop and a few years ago the county commission decide it was to expensive to repair and took the black top out. Now my neighbors and I live in a constant dust bowl year round.

I live on a paved road with hills. The plow truck never puts down sand when and where needed. My road is always a sheet of ice and I have firefighters that live on the same road.

This road commission is LAZY. I've lived off of a paved side road off of Jefferson, in Morley for 8yrs THEY NEVER plow my road. And the funny thing is a branch of the Road Commission is RIGHT by my house. When I called the branch in Big Rapids, the lady that answered was a wench.

Back roads have 8 inches of snow and haven't seen a plow truck and I was told by them they are to scared to touch 230th and hayes off of 11 mile. They are a joke. Won't touch shoulders of roads until last. So they can soak federal money for plowing main roads. Ridiculous

I’m officially the first person to post a picture. See that pothole? It’s on 200th, north of Jefferson. You’re the road commission, you should know that’s dangerous. On top of that, our road, 1-mile, hasn’t been grated in months. It’s worse than riding shivering timbers. Please fix this.

If I could give it a 'negative 5' i would. Another Monday with no school for the kids. Why....? who knows. Could it be the back roads that have 6 inches of snow?? It stopped snowing yesterday by noon and I am expected to believe they could not hit any back roads with a plow?? It it's a matter of overtime, then schedule some shifts specifically for the weather. Everybody knew it was supposed to snow and end on Sunday. PLAN FOR IT LIKE EVERYONE ELSE!!!!

Can't plow, roads have random trenches dug across them with no markings, huge pot holes everywhere....might as well not have a road commission.

Passed the problem on to the state and refused to acknowledge the issues that have been dangerous for years
