El Rodeo Mexican Restaurant

Excellent mexican food and huge portions! Our servers were very friendly and quick. Our food came out really fast. We ordered the burrito texano and it was the biggest burrito I have ever seen. We also ordered the fajitas texanas to split. It was easily enough fajitas for 3 people to share. Delicious food and very quick service! Love the atmosphere and decor. We will definately be coming back.

Being from Chicago where there are SO MANY Mexican restaurants, this place is definitely one of my favorite Mexican restaurants I have been to! The food, is absolutely delicious! The Al Pastor is cooked so perfectly! Flavor and crispness is chefs kiss! The margaritas are basic margaritas but still great! If you are in this area and have taste for Mexican food - please come here! It’s definitely a hidden gem! We have been here 3 times on our 3 visits to Michigan! The service is also amazing!

This location was pretty good! I know the kitchen is clean. I used to be a dishwasher tech and would stop at this location monthly to do maintenance on their dishwasher a few years ago.
Quick service, good food. What more could you ask for? I just wish I was able to try those chesecake chimi's. I was too full

Good fast service. The house margaritas were very good. The food came out hot and in a timely manner. The wife and I both enjoyed our meals.

I always love the food and the service but was shocked by how much my favorite dish increased. For 3 people to eat out it was ridiculously priced in my opinion. Only one of us got one drink so it wasn't that and I understand that all prices have increased but it was definitely a shock. No complaints about the food as it's always so good! The service is always great to. If you haven't been there in awhile might want to take a look at the prices first.

*Update - El Rodeo is a very special place to my tastebuds. I love everything about this restaurant! Live music, spanish speaking, kind-hearted staff, delicious food, what's not to love!? Takeout is great, but dine-in is on a different level.

El Rodeo was the first restaurant I tried in Benton Harbor, MI. Great authentic atmosphere and wonderful service. The food is absolutely delicious! 🔥 After my first bite, I was lost in the flavors, smells, and attitude of the tacos and burrito. The burrito was large enough to fit in an aluminum loaf pan, and that took me over the top in this rating. If I could rate 10 stars, I would! El Rodeo Mexican Restaurant was that GOOD! If you visit Benton Harbor MI near Mall Drive, your next meal NEEDS to come from El Rodeo.

Ah..yall need to explain to people how big your burritos are lol. My total was $31 I was like a little expensive for a burrito and quesadilla. When I got my back I was like a little heavy 🤣. The burrito can feed 2 people and the quesadilla is enough for 2 as well this was a lot of food and worth the price

In town for the weekend. Looked up Mexican restaurants near me and this popped up and honestly at first I was a bit skeptical but this place did not disappoint. The tacos are fire!! I had the steak and shrimp ones and it was so good! Definitely recommend! The rice and bean reminded me of my mom’s.

Great food, great service, great vibes.

Out of towners visiting for the weekend, and we’re so happy we did!

Food portions are enormous and tasted great as well

1. Pollo Toluca - sounded a little crazy it’s chicken with chorizo on top. I loved it, the white sauce is really good chorizo nicely flavored

2. Chicken quesadilla- this was for my daughter, this was enormous. I had the next day for left over and it still tasted great to me

3. Burrito grande - my wife could not put a dent in this at all, she it was a little bland.

4. Fried ice cream - wow amazing. There is a corn flake like thing inside the shell between the shell and ice cream and I loved it. Some of the best fried ice cream I’ve had

5. Margarita - very good, no complaints

If I had to complain it would be that the chips were a little cold, but I’m glad as it saved my appetite for the real food.

The service was good at this restaurant. I am always trying to find a Mexican restaurant with that authentic tasting food. This restaurant's food tastes great! I especially liked their Jamaica. The food was served promptly and hot.

Excellent authentic Mexican food! Very open-spaced restaurant. Service was fantastic, quick, and always checking-in. Even some mariachi guitar playing from a very talented Caballero. Food was hot, fresh, and served quickly. The Burrito Texano was awesome! Ribeye steak, chicken, shrimp along with fajita veggies, beans and rice. Topped with roja, salsa verde, and queso blanco in the middle. The grilled taste is out of this world! Everything tastes fresh and made to order. The other dish is two chimichanga’s with shredded beef. Again, grilled flavors a bit of spice but not too much. As you get the great taste of the meats. Lastly the Margarita’s are out of bounds! Two or three and you’ll need an Uber to take you home. ¡muy bien! ¡gran trabajo!

Very friendly service. I wish I lived near here so that I can order the food a couple times a week. The fajitas and the guac and the salsa we're all amazing. They hooked me up because I got there about 12 minutes from closing, on a Sunday. Highly recommend.

Great basic, any combination, any Mexican style food you could want, friendly staff, casual atmosphere, perfect break from the road or home! AND the margaritas were awesome!

It's a pretty good Mexican restaurant. I had the tacos carne asada, and it was quite enjoyable. Although I do like the carne asada to be a little bit more juicy and a lot more flavorful. It did taste a little on the rough and not flavorful side but, I'll probably be back again.

If you do buy food they will give you chips and salsa for free. What day is by itself a nice appetizer. And not many restaurants I know do this thing, even though chips and salsa is cheap as hell.

It's probably the best Mexican restaurant around here. They did not compromise on quality or portion sizes due to inflation. And the margaritas still got me buzzed. Unlike other places which I won't go back to. Prices are probably higher than pre-2020 but that's not their fault, you can thank the government for that one. I'd rather pay a little more for the same quality than pay the same for pathetic portions and weak drinks.

Had the Texas fajita. Wonderful taste. Good local Mexican food experience with a nice ambiance in the place.
