Oak Street Bistro

Out on a Sunday afternoon running some errands and just roaming around a bit we searched for a new lunch spot and found Oak Street Bistro and decided to give it a try. We live about 35 minutes away and routinely ride our motorcycles through this area and I've never noticed this place as a restaurant before driving by and now I feel I have missed out of years of driving by and not stopping.
We arrived to find an amazing waiting area upon entry complete with fireplace and large seating options comprised of dark wood and leather padded chairs. As move into the restaurant further you find that the Christmas decorations are abundant and very well done including several beautifully decorated Christmas trees. There were 2 dining rooms available, but we chose to go to the bar area where options of table seating or a spot at their large bar were available. We were greeted as we approached and offered to seat anywhere of our liking as it was not very busy at the moment. The decorations continued throughout the bar with the Christmas decor. The bar area also equipped with a large fireplace (that we wished was on at the time). We sat at the bar and enjoyed a couple of beverages and appetizers which were all great including some of the coldest draft beers I've had in the area. Service was also well-done with bartender very attentive to our needs as well as the others at the bar.
We look forward to returning to try some dinner options in the future as the overall vibe Oak Street Bistro was so enjoyable.

Dinner was wonderful they had live music and it was majecal the fire place was lit and everyone was so nice. Lots of local people made me feel at home. In my new town. I just move here. I had such a wonderful evening. Thanks to the gang at Oak Street.

Loved every part of our evening. Food came out well timed between courses. Everything tasted amazing and cooked perfectly. Cant wait to try other items from their menu but the specials are hard to pass on too.

Went there with our daughter for lunch today! The food was scrumptious and a great value! The atmosphere...super cozy and the service...top notch! We will definitely be back!

Stopped by for an early dinner around 4pm on a Friday. Bistro was already hopping, bar was full and folks were having a good time. I was not sure what to expect as I hadn't heard anything about the Oak Street Bistro, but my dining partners had and they were raving about it.

Here to say, every dish we got lived up to the hype and then some. We started with bang bang shrimp and onion rings... Both fantastic.
Moved on to dinner entrees, each person commented multiple times how good everything was. I got one of the specials, pan-seared shrimp with spinach tortellini in a cream sauce.. I would get that meal every night if I could. I did share my compliments to the chef and said they should make the meal a permanent menu item.

The steak tips were delicious, had to take some home for leftovers.
The baked haddock was yummy, took some home.
Atlantic salmon was great, there was no leftovers there haha 🐟

And I saved a few tortellini to bring home for the next night as I was full from the appetizers.

But then we got cheesecake for dessert. If you order nothing else, at least get yourself some cheesecake.

I will absolutely be returning here, the staff was excellent (our waitress was Tracy and she was great!), the food was delicious, and I sound like I was paid to eat here, but I was not.

Do yourself a favor and stop in. Cheers 🍻

The restaurant is so beautifully decorated. If you would like to have a feeling of the Christmas season go there it's decorated till the end of the month it's absolutely breathtaking. You're always greeted by somebody who's friendly and caring and your needs are always met by your servers. You will want to return. There are four fireplaces you can cozy up with your family members or friends and enjoy a great meal in a comfortable atmosphere.

Wonderful atmosphere. Martinis were delicious. We ate every single onion ring—they were so good! Especially with the aioli sauce. The sticky chicken tenders are a must-order. Can’t wait to come back! I wish I thought to take pics of the food. Next time I will! We were visiting from Virginia and this spot was highly recommended.

Food and drinks were delicious. They have a very nice lobby waiting area with big comfy chairs. Sat at the bar. It was very busy, so service wasn't super fast - but the bar staff were very good about checking in and getting drinks out quickly. Food was great too - worth the wait. Overall, it was a very nice night out.

We love going to the Oak Street Bistro, it's always a treat. The food is always exceptional and they take great pains to source the best food. The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly.

Nice place, great food. I have the best so fresh yellowfin tuna, one of their special that day. It's amazing. Everything we order is so good. Our waitress is also so friendly and helpfull. One of the best resto in maine.

Enjoyed an amazing meal here. Loved the environment. Highly recommend the spring rolls, and the pork was the best I’ve ever tasted. Perfectly cooked!!

Had a delicious dinner on Saturday evening. If you are searching for the best PEI mussels in Maine, you must add Oak Street Bistro to your list. We were greeted warmly by the owner James, and sat the the Bar. Charles was attentive and made the coldest and best dirty Martini! Great food and great atmosphere! Thank you for an excellent experience.

Dinner was fabulous .The mussels are outstanding! Our server was on point.The food arrived hot and a was delicious for our table of six. The drinks from the bar were exactly as ordered.This restaurant is large with inside, bar, and outside seating.On a busy night it can become a little noisy.They don't take reservations but on a busy Saturday night our party of six only had a 30 min wait. The owner runs the host stand with precision. We will definitely be back!

The young waiter was so pleasant and attentive. I have the special steak strip and it was cooked PERFECT! So moist and full of flavor

The food never disappoints, the atmosphere is wonderful and the owner always makes sure his customers are satisfied. All around great place to eat.

Me and my wife stopped here on a Friday evening. We have family who lives close and had said that this was a great place. Inside is beautiful and a great atmosphere . It was poppin, with almost every table full. But it was well worth the wait. I got the NY strip. Perfectly cooked.good to see someone who can cook meat the way I want it. My wife got the clams and shrimp. Very delicious as well. Server was lovely. Might be in a small town, but this place I promise you is well worth a stop
